I heard the news yesterday, and have firmly denied it. Finally, I went to the boy's website and had my worst fears confirmed:A New Beginning
3/2/2007
After five wonderful years on the road with Thirty Seconds to Mars Matt Wachter has decided it is time spend more time with his family at home.
We love and support him completely and accept his decision with respect and understanding. This is not an end, it is a new begining.
There are times we all wish for things to stay the same but change is inevitable and we believe it must be embraced as a gift, not as anything else. There are only positive feelings between us all and we will always remember the wonderful contributions he has made to this project.
We care for our brother Matt very much and wish him the best with everything.

I don't know what to say. Those who know me know that I love 30 Seconds to Mars only slightly less than I love my own children. My heart is broken, and I don't know what more to say about this.

Aww... Matt's gone. Then again, they can get someone exactly like him or better, so it truly is "A New Beginning." Something can replace Matt, it just can't fill all of the empty spots.

no they can't get someone exactly like him or better. if they get someone else.... it'll just be the new member who isn't matt. "that new guy". eh. he cannot be replaced. part of their whole appeal was the love and camaraderie they shared. some new person isn't gonna just fit right in. unless they bring back solon, rotf.

As sad as the news might be to you, you should be fair to him understand his position and respect it. He has made a choice, one he believes to be the best one for him.
Best of luck to 30 Seconds to Mars in finding a new member, if they should choose to.
Best wishes to Matt and his family.

i'll not. nope. never.
but seriously - i'm holding out hope that whatever the issue is, it gets resolved and he comes back home to the echelon. cuz we're family.
hopefully, it's just some silly stuff. or a kid or something. lol.

I was referring more to the law against it, or, what I believe was meant as, 'violent threat' against it. Like you said, it could be something temporary, and he'll be back after taking care of things.

I heard the news yesterday. It is disappointing to the fans, but as the guys have said, he wants to spend more time with his family. I believe he's made the right decision. It's great that they are supporting him as well.
