lone wolf pack ... .Welcome.
Soo, welcome! :3 This is my great and wonderful idea for a pack. My first wolf, Alexander, has always wanted to be in a pack but is afraid to join one because of his past experience. Therefore, he wants to start his own. Now that he feels he is old enough to hold the respect of his fellow wolves, it's time to start looking for members.
.Idea.
Since Alexander has been a lone wolf his whole life, this is what the pack will be based on. The general premise is that the members will claim a small piece of land for their "packlands" but will generally wander all over. The packlands will be a kind of safe haven and meeting spot for the pack. Alexander loves his freedom to roam, so he wants this to be included. A pack member must only visit the packlands once (so they know the location and whatnot) and are pretty much otherwise free to do whatever.
The catch is that the members will always be in contact with one another. There are two ways to do this when seperated. The first one is the traditional method of howling. Pack members are to respond to the howl of another so everyone can be located in an emergency.
The second way of contact is using familiars. Crows, foxes, and even lynx can be used as a sort of messenger. In exchange for the service, the lone wolf pack offers the packlands as a safe ground for the messengers. This said, hunting shall be forbidden in the packlands. This isn't a big deal because the land is fairly small and these wolves should be used to hunting on common ground, anyway.
With that said, familiars are more than welcome to join the pack as well! <3
This pack will be great for social wolves who still want the freedom of being a loner, or lone wolves who seem to get in a lot of trouble and need support. xD Also good for those who need pack help protecting/raising puppies. 8D

how it works ... .Ranks.
The ranks will be fairly loose on account that they might not see a whole lot of each other.
Alphas: There will be two alphas. The first will be Alexander, and the second will be Deimos. The alphas basically accept new members and oversee all things related to the pack. If the pack gets allies, they will be in charge of rallying the members to assist allies or even to fight enemies of the pack.
Betas: There will be two betas who take over the role of vice president. They handle the alpha roles when the alphas aren't around, or when the alphas assign something to them. This could include punishing other members for not following rules.
Gammas: These are the wolves who either don't want a lot of responsibility or want to be on their own a high percentage of the time. They pretty much do whatever they want.
Omega: One or zero omegas. If it ends up the pack has an omega, this wolf will be the errand-wolf. They will do any tasks the alphas or betas need done. This could include hunting and bringing food to the packlands for the members to eat.

let the good times roll ... Well, that's the end of my crazy idea! I'm sure I left things out, so I will have to update and whatnot. Share your questions, ideas, complaints, criticisms, compliments, whatever. I just need some feedback on what people think. nn Always open for ideas. <3 Post away!
I've already noticed something. The way I wrote it makes it sound like the pack won't associate hardly at all. But this is totally up to the members. Alexander is extremely social and willing to go on a group hunt or exploring or whatever.

Also, it needs a better name. nn; I was thinking maybe the latin words for 'lone wolf'? Though I would have to look it up. Ideas?

I'm not positive yet, but I think I might like to throw Litre into here. :3 His pack disappeared when he was a pup, so I'm not sure he'd work all that well with a full out pack. Plus, he knows Alexander. It'll make things easier on him. x)

Aww, that would be fun. Alexander likes Litre too. :3 But who wouldn't like Litre? xD He's such a sweetheart.
And I don't have much now, but I want to work with other packs and get some plotage stirred up once this thing gets on its feet. x3
