This will be running off of Nikorasu-Kun's d6 system:

Stage Dice chart:
1-0% unaware
2-0% aware
3-25%
4-50%
5-75%
6-100%

The setting: The River

Quote:
A series of connected freshwater rivers snake their way over a majority of the island, occasionally pooling into larger lakes. The water is fresh and sweet to the taste, and is home to a variety of fish.

A welcome respise to the hot, humid air the lakes and rivers in most areas are ideal for swimming, however large snakes and crocodiles have been spotted from time to time, especially closer to the jungles.

The largest lake is, uncoincidentally, right by the village.

I will be using Rick Katan, located in my quest thread in my signature.

This RP is closed to me, Chhayawolf, and Martyk. As for posting order...let's say chaos rules. twisted

((Rick Katan - 50% Striped Kukri Snake))

The sound his breath hissing in and out of his lungs was the only other sound, save for that of the river flowing by. He gazed into its depths, the crystal water revealing his reflection. The telltale marking of the striped kukri snake adorned his face; a single stripe starting at either side of his face, weaving over his nose, and connecting to the other side. Several other stripes ran upwards from his forehead, but disappeared under his thick black hair.

Stretching out two meters behind him was a scaled tail, striped red, black, and gold. It lay flat on the ground, unmoving, just like him. He still had some of the clothes from when he had arrived. Unfortunately, that was only his black cargo pants. His feet had lost too much definition for his shoes to provide any solace, and any clothes that pressed tight against his skin just irritated the scales that had begun to speckle his back in patches, the presence of scutes making themselves known on his belly.

He held a clawed hand in front of his face, sheathed in black scales, wondering what would become of him on this island, wondering if he would be as much of a monster as the others here.

((Chay w. Rawling- 75% Winged Giant River Otter))

A large form could be seen floating in the river propelling itself slowly along the bank. It was the only time Chay couldn't really lay on her back anymore with the odd pair of developing wings adorning her back. They seemed far too small for any real use considering she was at an advanced stage of change. She lifted her webbed hands over her face studying them as they opened and closed giving her odd sensations that she still couldn't seem to become accustom to.

Chay was wearing her old faded jumpsuit that she modified with some scissors and thread allowing her to still wear some sort of clothing to modestly cover places on her body that still wasn't completely adorned with thick fur. She closed her eyes still unsure if she should be happy about no longer having to worry about the physical ordeals she had to experience back home or cry from the fact that she could no longer see any of her family along with her instincts increasingly overcoming reason. At least she still had Poppie back at the dorms to keep her with familiar company.

Opening her eyes again she noticed the silohette of a person or close to one looming over her while she drifted. Her muscles tensed taking a few seconds to determine if it was real or not at first. But judging from the way he didn't seem to notice her assured her that he was another islander just like her, if not a little on the gloomy side. "Hey, is everything alright?" Chay asked softly turning over to reach the muddy edge of the bank.

Abruptly, Rick looked up, somewhat startled at how stealthily the otter-morph had drifted down to him. She looked farther changed than he, so he had no doubt in his mind that she had stronger instincts, as well as more knowledge about the island, and how it worked. One interesting thing that he noticed was that unlike most---well, all---otters, she had wings. For what reason, he didn't know, since they were obviously too small to fly with.

What he wanted to say and do was to grab a hold of his tail and hold it in front of her, shouting, "Would you call THIS alright? I'm becoming something inhuman!"

However, he knew that he couldn't say something like that to someone who didn't have any malicious intent.

"Yeah, I'm fine," He managed to get out, and that was all he could say. What else could he say?

Chay's wet hair clung to her face and fur till she shook her head whipping it free before letting it smack wetly against her back. She leaned forward putting an elbow on the back nestling her chin against her hand.

"Not to sound rude, however the only time i've seen that expression on someone's face is when they're far from fine. You don't have to feel any pressure towards answering this question but...is there anything on your mind that you need to talk about? Every other person on this island i've seen has something to say. The most common thing being something to do with change." Chay explained while stretching her wings till the muscles shook, resting them back in the water.
She looked him over studying his scales and markings tracing the stripes with with her eyes. He wasn't all that bad to look at, there's always someone that had it better or worse than another.

Marty Karrell

((Marty Karrell - Thorny Devil - 25%))

((Well this should be interesting, havn't RP'd him anything but 100% yet. Comming up with mental image... now.))

Marty, despite the whole people turning into animals and mad scientist and big brother sort of thing going on, was actually enjoying himself upon the island. Not like he had anything better to do and hey, it was like a free, unending vacation. Sure, he was still a little bummed he wouldn't be learning to create video games from pros like he had signed up to do, but the island had a plethoria of books on everything, so he was certain he could get some learning going.

He floated lazily down one of the larger of the river's islands on a small iner tube he had requesitioned specificly for that purpose. He knew he wouldn't be able to do it forever, after all, he had a fairly good idea what he was becoming. Although the changes wern't too drastic yet, they were definetly noticable. Scales had started to form on his limbs, his fingernails had started to become thicker as they developed into claws and his teeth had sharpend slightly. No of course, changes like this could represent any reptile, but it was the ridge of spines beginging to grow down his back as well as the other spikes dotted all over his body that narrowed the possibilities down to one. Thorny Devil. A nifty little critter Marty had always like the look of. He'd encountered them from time to time in the past...

Marty's train of thought ws cut short as he suddenly noticed his tube was rapidly loosing air.

"Crap, well, that was fun while it lasted." he thought.

Ditching the tube, he noticed he had finally made it to the end of the river, ending up in the lake by the village. Diving underwater, he swam towards the middle of the lake, trying to see how far he could get before running out of air.

Rick listened to what she had to say, nodding his acknowledgment, but not doing much else other than that. He gave a small shrug.

"Then you've already heard what's on my mind. I won't waste your time with the same story," He said as he rested his chin on his hand, bringing his legs up to where he could support his elbow on his knee. He squinted towards the lake that the river led to, and with keen eyesight, he was able to see a figure making its way through. He pointed with a claw.

"What's that?" He asked, his tail twitching.

Chay smirked slightly at Rick's comment and the way he was standing. "Wasting time is what i do best, its more interesting when you waste is with someone else."

Blinking a few times she followed his claw to what he was pointing at. "I think its another islander, rather new from the looks of it. Maybe he's out for a swim as well." Pushing off from the side of the bank she shook off any mud that clung to her and started swimming towards Marty propelling herself rather quickly with her tail. "Oh yeah, i forgot to tell you, names Chay."

As Marty made his way into the lake, he noticed a pair of other islanders.

"Hallo! Marty Karrell." he said popping up to the surface inches away from them and extending a hand. "How goes it?"

In the back of his head, a little voice was screaming he was being odd again and kinda creepy what with the masive smile on his face, but as with most cases of this voice, it was quickly silenced by a blow to the head by Marty's other brain voices.

((Marty: I'm going to know you from before. Let's just not ask too many questions wink ))

"Chay..." He muttered, low enough that he suspected that she wouldn't be able to hear it. It was an interesting name, that was for sure. Perhaps he would ask her about her own ordeal some other time.

Then, from the water, he saw the figure surface relatively close to himself. He knew that man.

"Hey, Marty," He said with a slight wave.

((Alrighty. After all, these random threads tend to be non-cannon in the non-cannon RP))

"Hey Rick." he said giving a quick two finger salute. He turned to Chay and with a tip of the hat gesture he said "Morning m'am."

After making a quickly tounge click as he often would, he continued. "So, waddaya two doing out here on this fine day that could probably be better spent gaming?"

(( xd i won't ask TOO many questions))

Chay squeaked out a small bark in suprise not expecting him to pop up so close that fast. Her face scrunched with a slight smile before finally laughing finding Marty to be suprisingly perky for an islander even by her standards. "At least there's still someone that smiles aside from Moreau and his staff on this island. Chay Rawlings." She shook hands, err more like paw-hand with him.

"I may not be sprouting gills but i still have an unwavering urge to take a daily dip. Plus i didn't think i'd be staying very long when i first got here, so i'm a bit gameless." She looked at Rick and then Marty. "Wait, you already know each other?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 04, 2007 1:07 pm

"Yes. We met not long ago and had a smashing conversation about halucinations ending in a game of Star Wars Pod Racer." he said, putting on a Sean Connery impersonation.

"So what exactically ((not a spelling mistake)) be your stories?" he asked, speech returning to normal. "I personnaly arrived here under the pretences of it being a university after travelling North America in an RV for my entire life. That could quite possibly be why the island doesn't bug me too much. I've seen so much in my 18 years that nothing phases me anymore."

"I never really played any Star Wars games, i was more into Kirby, Resident Evil, Parasite Eve and yoshi. Can't remember any others since i haven't had a chance to game for almost a year now."
Chay started scratching her neck with her webbed foot, stopped herself and rolled her eyes before reminding herself to use her hand. "We, well...it used to me. I was part of a geological team that picked up seismic readings hinting at a possible volcano in the ocean. Found out that it was coming from the island, well more below but it turns out we were hailed by a not so friendly group of guards, aaaaand, well it got a little fuzzy after that."
She gives him a look when he said that nothing phases him anymore. "I'm not so sure about that, give the island some time and you might find something that'll make you say otherwise. But i'm not saying that it should, if you stayed this cheerful through the whole process kudos to you. You'd be one of the very few lucky ones."
