Jailbait lurked nearby, watching her son through eyes that were beginning to tear up. She did not wander too close for she had been avoiding Erik. What could she say? She had heard the rumors of him getting 'friendly' with other mares. Though she had wanted to believe he was different, that he knew what that pain felt like, she couldn't deny that he had apparently been searching the company of other females. She couldn't deny that she would simply never be good enough for any male.
Her son was a handsome stallion and she felt such pride. Erik seemed to have whisked him away from birth so she never had a chance to really see him until now. She shouldn't avoid her son because of who he was raised be. He was still her son. She sighed as she turned her head towards her daughter,
Rascal. She was talking towards both stallions with a boldness that she found herself envying.
---
Rascal had a score to settle. For so long she had watched her mother in misery because of that stallion. That monster. She'd never call him a father. Why should she when he had never BEEN one? All he did was use her mother like all the other stallions did, only he took it a step further. He got her to open up in a way that she never had. She ended up pregnant and though she was grateful to exist in this world, she did not like the fact that her mother was turned into a recluse. Oh, she had a score to settle alright.
What she didn't count on was her brother.. one she had dreamed of meeting since she was a foal. This generated feelings she was not ready for. She wanted to run and nuzzle him and get to know him. She was happy and excited. She wanted to concentrate on confronting her father but she found herself turning and walking towards her brother. Her 'father' could wait for now. This was her brother. "We look like total opposites," she smiled as she greeted him. She felt a little awkward but what else could she say other than stating the obvious? They were indeed, quite opposite.
