Thina had grabbed a large lunch and gone to the entertainment room. She's wasn't too backwards to not know what a TV was, or the importance it can have. So it seemed English was the predominant language, and while she knew some of it, she was not dillusional to think she didn't need help.
The woman set up her space on the plush couch. After some time goggling over the huge TV, and figuring out the DVD-system, she finally put in a movie. Hercules was her choice, as it was something she recognized.
Thina watched the movie over and over the whole day. Eventually, she propped the door open for easy access to go grab food from the cafteria, go to the bathroom, and stretch her legs. The sound was blasting, not because she was deaf but so she could hear it outside of the room as well. She knew the movie was different from the true myth, but set that aside. It was in English, that was the important part.

Jordan was racing through the jungle like the breeze. He'd discovered this body loved to run and that made him feel so alive! Zip! Zip! Jordan dodged this way and that to avoid the trees. He ran, faster and faster, pushing his body to run for all its worth, his long-flowing white-streaked hair waving in the air behind him. The silly dog was enjoying his run and in the back of his mind, he thought about it helping him to evade predators in the future. The junbgle was a dangerous place and he continued to push through it on an almost daily basis. But mostly, it was just good excercise and he needed to move! Physical activity was becoming a staple of his life again asnd it felt so good!
All this running around was making him hungry. He'd not run so much since his high school football days. He tore through the jungle like a bat out of hell, slowing himself ungracefully as he neared the cafeteria. Running in this body was one thing. Stopping... well.. that'd take a lot more effort. Jordan's paws skidded along the ground and sent him stumbling off-balance for several yards until he finally came to a stop when he tumbled head over heel. This was incredibly amusing to him, since no one was around. When Jordan was left to his own devices, he was a happy, fun-loving puppy. But, when Moreau came into the picture, it became all business. He was thankful that he could relax his mind in these simple ways.
Jordan had heard the noise from the entertainment room. It was loud to begin with, but with the improved hearing of a canine, it was painfully loud. He ducked into the cafeteria to grab a quick burger -one of his favorites since becoming more canine, well meat in general made him drool. He wolfed that and a bottle of water down, grabbing a second bottle of water before exiting the caf. His brow furrowed as he clasped his paws over his sensitive canine ears, whining at the throbbing, ear-piercing pain.
Jordan padded to the entertainment center to ask whomever it was to be more considerate to others with sensitive hearing to please turn the volume down. The closer he got, the louder it got, until it was a thunderous clapping of doom. Jordan whimpered as set foot into the entertainment room, ears-covered tigthter.
"Excuse me." he called out "Excuse me." he said again, but wfigured he wasn't heard, so he advanced onto the...human?? Oh geez! Another human! He hadn't seen humans -other than Doctor Moreau or the guards- in weeks, except for Dee the other day. He really weasn't sure how to react to that. Jordan had fully expected to see another changed subject. At least some changes to the girl!

Thina didn't hear him the first time, but on the second, she heard... well, something. Out of the corner of he eye, she saw someone there, and decided she'd turn the sound down.
The woman held the remotes in her hands and stared at them in confusion. Finally, she started just hitting buttons. The volume went up, as if that were possible, then the channels started to change... clicking through other movies that were loaded into the DVD player. The sound went down a little, but as she was pressing buttons randomly, she pressed the one to go back up. Finally, the gods deemed to give her some mercy, it all turned off, and they were both sitting in silence.
Thina's ears now hurt, and she held them delicately before turning to the.... person?.... in the door. Her eyes still held the blank stare of confusion. "Oriste? Erm, I mean.... what did you say?"

Oh for the love of humanity! As if the volume wasn't high enough, it went even higher! Then themovies were being alternated, the volume lessened slightly, which left a dull ringing in his ears, and as if he hadn't been tormented enough yet, the volume sky-rocketed until the whole blessed machine was shut down. Jordan couldn't hear anything but the louder ringing left in his ears from the sudden silence, squinting his eyes as he wiggled a claw into his ears.
"Thank you!" he shouted, not realizing that he was shouting, due to the fact he couldn't hear the volume of his own voice. "You must be new here! I'm sorry if I scared you! I heard this all the way from the cafeteria and thought I'd ask you to turn it down." he wiggled the claw in his ear again "Some of us have really sensitive hearing is all and it really hurts!"
Jordan shook his head very doglike, making his ears flap against his head as he padded closer to the girl. He was fumbling with the water bottle, like he had the last one. Blasted paws were useless for opening things, so he held the bottle in his paws and twisted the cap open in his jaws.
"I'm Jordan, by the way!" he extended a paw as he struggled to manipulate the water bottle in the other. He shook his head out again, making his ears flap. The ringing was even more annoying when you didn't have human hearing anymore.

Thina hardly noticed he was yelling, her own ears damaged. "Oriste?" she asked again, wondering why she was being thanked. "Oh.... yes! I walked to cafeteria and back, want to hear it!"
"Signomi, er, Sorry! I not know how loud!" she gasped for breath, the only factor she realized she was in fact yelling. Thina cleared her throat, but if felt sore.
Reaching, Thina pulled the bottle from Jordan's jaw, opened, took a sip, and then offered the capless thing back. "Efharisto - thank you. Thina Arlia-Pavlidis."
Finished, she shook his paw with no hesitation.
Meanwhile, her mind trying to piece things together.... but nope, she had no idea what he was.

His ears were ringing slightly less, enough to actually hear that she was speaking. He was surprised that she grabbed the bottle from Jordan, striaght from his paws and his jaws, about to say something when she opened it so simply. Just like that. It was opened.
It was a reminder that human hands were good, but humanity was over-rated. Still, he didn't want to act impolite. "Thank you, Thina." And he took a drink of the water as well. The thing about dogs, no matter how much or little humanity is left in them, have no qualms about sharing. It's that part of their brain that makes them more compatible with humans. So, where that part of his brain wanted him to wipe off the bottle, the controlling dog chugged from it without second thoughts.
It was nice to see she wasn't afraid. That'd make this easier. Either she was built of sterner stuff than most people or she'd already been given the speech on what's going on. Either way, Jordan smiled happilly and took a seat on the floor, resting up against the arm of the couch.
His hearing came back after a final shake of his head, flapping his ears again, following it up by scatching at his left ear with his paw, very doglike Jordan leaned his head into the scratching with a happy murr, the thumping of his leg and the wagging of his tail.

Thina nodded in greeting acknowledgement and then went to take a spot on the couch next to him. She looked down, his head on the armrest and tail wagging. Her eyes widened as realization struck her, "Dog! You're a dog!"
Thina loved dogs, they had a some spot in every hardened-Greek heart, it seemed. With a rare smile that crinkled her scars strangely, she rested her hand on his head. She didn't like that so well, so scratched his chin, cheek, and furry ears instead. The older woman coo-ed to him in Greek, her childish side taking over. She really did like dogs.

Jordan smiled as she pegged him on what he was becoming. It was fun when they knew. He didn't quite understand why it was like that, but it was probably the canine part of him that absorbed the attention like a sponge. "That's right." he responded in a very friendly tone. "I'm changing into a Samoyed to be exact. A big fluffy sled dog." he smiled nicely, showing off his canines.
He wasn't even feeling self-conscious around her. There hadn't bene any time to consider being coy about his appearance and Thina really seemed nice. Jordan had opened his mouth to ask her what reason she'd come to the island, but that was immediately cut off with all of the lovely attention afforded to him. Her fingers- her human fingers- felt so good in his thick fur, causing his leg to thump more as he slid down against the couch a bit, arching his back. He lifted his chin and turned his to and fro so she could scratch the fur there thoroughly. It felt so goood. And he was in such bliss as his ears were touched.
Jordan's tail thumped loudly against the couch in his appreciation. "Oh yeah, that's a good spot." he tilted his head so she could scratch at that right spot behind his ears and that made his leg thump even harder.

Thina allowed herself to get into the petting. As Jordan leaned into it, and used her other hand to scratch the other side too. "No, I don't know that kind dog." Then again, she never bothered with the details. A dog is a dog, what else matters?
"There?" she asked, as he announced the 'good spot'.
A few moments later, the woman had to stop. Thina splayed on the couch, and mumbled some Greek to herself about her aching fingers. She looked to Jordan and gave an apologetic smile, "Signomi, I have no more...."
With a sigh, Thina looked at the TV, unsure and afraid to attempt to turn it on again. For now, she was content with food, comfort, and company. She tried to phrase words in her mind before she said anything. Twice she opened her mouth, only to close it again when she realized she had the wrong words. Finally, Thina went with something simple, "Where is 'here'?"

Jordan was letting her go to town with the scratching. He was powerless to stop it, immobilized by sensation buzzing through his skull. Dog-lovers were a dogman’s friend indeed. The human part of his mind was astounded by how much more canine mentality he’d acquired –and subsequently submitting to- with his last change. Jordan humanity was submitting to the Samoyed that was erasing his human body and making him obedient to the canid wants and desires. That has attributed to the Feral loyalist’s increased physical activity, from swimming, to working out hard and steadfast at the gym, and now apparently running was to be added to the repertoire.
Jordan nodded, as she asked him if that was the spot. It was amazing how good that felt. He’d become addicted to that if he weren’t careful and that’d leave him in a precarious situation. Of course, he wouldn’t have to be slave to his hedonistic desires much longer as the elderly woman had ceased.
He settled down slowly as his leg and tail stilled their motions, giving his body a rest. Jordan smiled at the kind woman, watching her curiously. He noticed Thina about to say something a couple times and quirked his expression to reflect the curiosity. When she did ask what she’d intended, he was quick to respond. “We’re on an island in the Caribbean.” He nodded affirmatively. “Consider me a helpful guide to the island.
Jordan was curious to know the reasons of why others had been taken to the Feral Labs island facility. He was an employee of the company that had brought them all here, but few were like him. Some had come in search of a cure, while others like Jordan had arrived through consequence of their own actions.

Thina grabbed a sandwich she mad, and took a bite. "Food?" she offered off-hand.
She stood and stretched, "I do not know 'Caribbean'."
The woman didn't look around the entertainment room... the mess wasn't her problem, it wasn't her place. Typical Greek mindset. Thina turned to Jordan, almost expectantly, "Tour guide?" Maybe he'd take her around? She'd be safe with him around. No one would try and attack her... maybe Jordan would protect her from Newton. She didn't want to get beaten up by him.

His black nose twitched and flared at the presence of food. He’d just grabbed something from the cafeteria, but dogs were gluttons and were known to eat anything and everything offered to them. Jordan fought against himself to eat more. He was trying ot get back into shape and if he imagined himself getting fat if he caved to the animalistic gorging. The thought made him cringe. Jordan had been vane before coming to the island and so he retained that trait even now. Becoming fat was a nightmare.
Jordan politely declined. “I just ate before coming here and I’m on a strict diet.” He rubbed his tummy and patted it, feeling like he was getting fat, when that was far from true.
He paused in attempt to clarify for her geographically, tapping his fuzzed chin with a claw. “Aha. The Carribbean is an area in the Atlantic Ocean off the eastern coast of the United States.” That sounded good enough as any explanation.
The dogman chuckled as she repeated tour guide questioningly. “Sure. I’ve been here about two and a half months. I could show you around if you’re lost.” He offered a friendly smile. If he knew that Newt was bothering her, Jordan would likely offer to protect her. That psychotic frog was becoming his bane and a thorn in his side. Sure, he’d been the catalyst for many of Newt’s recent problems, but that was froggy’s fault for turning his back on the labs!

Thina shook her head sadly, "Good food is a horrible thing to waste." Or so, she'd heard from somewhere. "But.... your choice." To emphasize her point, the woman put the rest of the sandwich in her mouth, chewed, and swallowed audibly.
"Ahhh.... by Americans..." she said to herself once the sandwich was gone. Thina didn't know exactly where the United States was, except way to the West. But, knowing that it was by where the Americans were from explained the English, as well as would help her prepare a little bit with interactions with the other people.
She reached back, grabbed her scarf that was resting there, pulled her hair, and went to the door where she brought the door-prop chair back in. "So, where first, Kuri Jordan." ((Mister))

“I agree. I hate to see food wasted and I appreciate the offer, but I’ve got to watch how much I eat if I want to get back into shape.” Vanity often led to other problems, such as narcciccism and the pursuit of perfection. Jordan flet that he’d once known perfection in body from his athletic high school days and he was ashamed that his body had ‘gone to hell’ as he saw it. He missed the muscle and the gorgeous golden tan.
Jordan smiled, nodding. “Hmmmm.. let’s see.. there’s the lake.. there’s the beach..” he was counting off on the digits of his paw. “That over there..” he pointed at the jungle giving her a stern, serious look “.. is the jungle.. You should avoid going in there if you can. It can be a dangerous place.” He continued counting off on his digits as his smile returned. “Here in the village, there’s the entertainment center, which is where we just were.” He pointed out the cafeteria, where to get medicine and first aid supplies, as well as where the washing machine and dryer were. “The laundry machines are in that building there, there’re signs posted so it shouldn't be too much trouble. The cafeteria… you know where that is…, and there’s a workout room, an arcade. We have a bulletin board maintained by the community, so feel free to post concerns or questions..” He pointed out everything, remembering when Awen had done the same for him.
“Well!” he rubbed his paws together “Where should we begin on our grand tour?”

Thina snorted with Jordan's speech about watching his weight, "Americans..." she commented, as if that explained it all. Then, she decided to add, "...only American would be concerned much." She wasn't saying that was good or bad, simply stating it. The woman knew that weight wasn't really an issue, it properly displayed health -meaning not starvation- and sometimes wealth.
She listened politely to his list. "I know lake." She waited some more. When he mentioned the jungle, Thina was about to protest, but his look made her close her mouth with a snap of her jaw. "Laundry... I have no clothes." Well, she didn't have any more than that which was on her back when she arrived.... and only the underdress like the one she wore was cool enough for such a hot island. Some of the other rooms were unfamiliar to her, so Thina only shook her head to try and show she didn't know what those terms were.
"Bull-e-tin board? Signs?" Her eyebrows furrowed together, "I cannot read."
