So, as you may or may not know, John Cale of course started the VU with Morrison and Lou Reen, but then after White Light/White Heat, he left the band.

So Cale albums would be The Velvet Underground and Nico, and White Light/White Heat. Post Cale albums would be The Velvet Underground and Loaded (and anything else I suppose.)

Which do you prefer? Personally, I like them a lot with Cale, but without they're still good too..

edit: I changed the title so many people would know what I'm talking about.

I like Cale a lot. Viola <3 Without him, I probably wouldn't even like VU very much because part of the reason I started listening was becasue I heard they had a violist XD But yeah, their music after Cale is still awesome.

Yeah, I found it really hard to choose.
But sometimes im not in the mood for some p***y song about how cold it is in alaska...

I'm gonna have to go with the Cale era VU as well.

I liked the Cale era because their sound is alot more Raw, more original. With Doug Yule, they just sound like 'just another band'. They eased off the experimentation, and went for a more pop sound.

Not that I'm against it. Both eras are incredible. But Cale gets my vote.
