It all began thirty wo thousand, four hundred and ninty five years ago....

A woman stumbled through the woods clutching at her stomach. She was pregnant. Her arms slashed against tree branches and she tripped over rocks, landing hard on her face. She looked up, panting hard, and her eyes bled to a wolfen amber. I can't do it. She thought to herself. I can't risk transforming...My child might die. She stood slowly, her legs feeling like jelly and leaned against a tree. Vomiting, she staggered towards a mountainside to which there was a cave.

She entered the cave, and stares into the eyes of a dozen weresnakes. "What are you doing in our lair?" The biggest one asked, baring his fangs and advancing dangerously. The woman forced her eyes to a milky snake white, and hissed at him. "I am Sharah. I was once the bride of your alpha. I come here to bear my child to you." She said, thanking the heavens for her being a panwere. "We will not take him." He snake hissed. "Jared was weak, I am the new leader of this lair."

Sharah sank to her knees, breathing in deep, steady breaths. "Allow me then to fight you for his right to live here as part of your Lair." The snakes started laughing, a sibiliant hiss. "You wish to fight me!? Seron? The lord of the largest snake Lair in the world?" He asked, rearing high up. "That is exactly it." Sharah said, glaring at him in the eyes. She rose, and a wave of brown fur stole over her skin, her eyes going from milky white to a deep chesnut brown. "Very well then, we fight to the death." He said, leaping at her, changing into full, large snake as he flew through the air at her. Sharah's hand whipped up, elongating claws and peircing Seron's torso, bringing the squirming snake to her mouth, and closing her jaws on it's head, crushing him.

She turned back to human, and collapsed on the floor of the cave, her water breaking, and leaking all along the floor. She crooked her finger at a small snake, and he came to her. "Diego, you are the new leader of this Lair." She said, prying out Seron's fangs and tossing them to the next biggest snake. "Herin, you will be Diego's guide until he can handle it on his own, and after that, you will be his body guard. Make sure he has a long reign. You once told me you loved me, if it was true, you will follow my wishes, and make him a necklace of Seron's fangs, proving his leadership." She said, before crying out in pain, and leaning back, as a snake dressed in white came over to her.

"This baby is coming." He said, checking her out. "I shall birth the baby Milady." He said, spreading her legs, and waiting. Four labrious hours later, Sharah carried a baby boy in her arms. "He...He will...Name him Zackeria." She said, hoping the name would hide him from his darkened past, which would come to be his future. Her eyes glazed over yet again, this time shutting for the last time.

Zackeria was growing up a nice, strong boy. He was always helpful to his snake family, and, although he was only six, always willing to go out and find food for them. He had inherited his mothers love for nature, transformation abilities, and slight control over elements. He was currently in snake form, his mottled yellow and brown skin slithered through the grass, eyeing a rat nearby. Just as he was about to strike, Diego took hold of the rat himself. Zack hissed, darting to the side to avoid burying his fangs in Diego's throat, and changed back into human form.

"That one was mine." He said, pouting as Diego resumed his human form. "You should know me better then that Zackeria." He said, smiling. Over the years, they had grown very close, Diego took him under his scales, teaching him the trade of living with the lair. "I told you I don't like being called by my full name." Zackeria said, standing up, and walking back top the cave with Diego. "Call me Zack." "Your mother wished you to be named Zackeria, that is what I shall call you." Diego said, stepping into the cave, and kicking the snakes that bowed befre him. "I told you to stop bowing whenever I enter here." Was all he could say, shooting Zack a wry glance.

That night Zack couldn't sleep properly. He tossed and turned, changing from human to snake, to bear, to leopard, to lion, to tiger. He eventually stood, and went to the edge of the cave. He pulled out a small dagger from his boot, and examined it yet again. It was found with his mothers body, and it was inscribed. He had never let it out of his person, as was enscribed on the hilt. He walked into the forest, and saw a deer in the distance. He could not change fast enough, nor did he have a spear, but he was hungry. He flung his dagger, and buried it in the throat of the deer.

As soon as the dagger left his hand, the lights went out. The moon and stars were blotched out, and Zack saw a dark cloud seeping towards him. He wanted to run for the blade, but the cloud was already against it. He grabbed a stone, and scrawled Help me. into a tree. The cloud sweapt over him, and a pair of bloodred eyes showed up on him. "Hello Zackeria." Came a sibiliant voice that seemed to be coming from everywhere, and nowhere all at once. Zack screamed as he was drawn into a void, and landed in front of a massive red being, with horns, and the eyes of death and pain. "At last. My son." The voice said, utterly terrifying.

Zack stumbled backwards n shock and fear, he had never heard this voice before, nor did he want to ever again. "Wh-Wh-Who are you?" He asked, wishing he had his dagger on him now. "I am your father Zackeria. Your mother wished for you never to meet me, which is why she gave you the dagger, it was blessed, and I could not come near you while it was in your possession, but now...Now I am taking you away from these snakes, and training you in the art of which you have never known before." Zack shreiked in pain as he felt a searing stab of agony shoot through his chest. Someone'll come and get me. Please Diego, hear me and come. The voice laughed sardonically. "No oen can hear you, you are passing out of this realm, and into mine."

Zack emerged at the edge of a lake, and the lake was filled not with water, but with flame. Out of the blazing abyss stepped a massive red form, with clawed hands and feet. Two horns roared out of it's head. It's face was a nightmare in disguise, slitted, red eyes hovering over a long pointed nose with golden hoops poking through it. The mouth itself would send any hero-warrior hiding, huge, gaping and filled with rows upon rows of fangs and a forked lashing whiplike tounge shreiking through the air.

"There will be no more easy living for you Zackeria. Not now that you're in Hell."

A sword stroke fell harshly from above, and Zack glinted it off of his blade. He backed away to breathe heavily while his opponent fumbled with his balance. Once they had both gotten back into fighting position, Zack moved forewards, parrying his opponents blade, and slicing deeply into the arm of the demon. It howled in pain, and redoubled it's attack, only to lose the arm that had been slashed at the end of Zack's sword. "The more that you try and attack me, the easier it gets to kill you." He said, smirking. "I could've done it a dozen times already." He remarked, tossing aside his longsword, and reaching for a lighter rapier at his side. He poked at the demon many times, barely touching the skin. "Here, and here, and here, and here." He said, proving his point. He turned away and looked back in disgust. "Go back to your own circle, heal your wounds, and remember this battle, and remember the name Zackeria." As he began to walk away, the demon rose it's sword high in the air, and charged him noisily from behind, he turned, and ran it through with the rapier, peircing it's heart. "No honour, no skill...Now you've got no life."

A soft clapping began as the devil strode into themidst of the scene of carnage. He stood and looked at Zack, covered in yet another warriors blood. "Four years, and four circles." He said, his voice rising through all of Hell. "I would not quite beleive it if I hadn't seen it first hand. You are definately my son, and you shall work wonders in my plan." Zack stared at him with hostile eyes. "I thought I already told you. I want no part in your plan to dominate all life." He said, shaking with rage. "And how you can send your warriors after your own son, trying to kill him weekly now astounds me. I will have NO PART OF IT!" He screamed the last part, letting every demon in hell know of his resiliance. His father backhanded him, and sent him flying into a rock, nearly breaking his back. "You will do as I command you." He said simply. "You have no choice in the matter. The demon inside you is begging to get out, I can feel it's presence, and you cannot venture into the human world without a portal summoned by the leader of Hell, namely, ME." Were the only words Zack could ever get out of him.

Darkness and flame washed over the battlefeild, and Zack vanished, reappearing in the eighth floor, the eighth circle. He arched his back, wincing at the pain it caused him to move. A big demon moved towards him, smirking. "Back again young one?" It asked almost mockingly. Zack leapt to his feet, his rapier in his hand, brandishing it in the others face. "Jakebe, I may not be ready to kill you outright, but if I die while I do it, and you ******** with me, I will kill you just as well." He said, glaring hatred out at him. "No need to worry, no need to worry." Jakebe stated, raising his hands, showing he was unarmed. "I have no plans to hurt you. I want to help you. I want to train you. You are an elemental master, a panwere, a veritable shapeshifter. Not to mention the demon inside you. I wish to unlock your powers, and I want you to fulfill your destiny." He said, sitting by Zack side, and plunking him down with him. "It must be done in secret, and only while your father is not watching. Prefferably in the human world. I will suggest a portal be made for me on my next venture, and bring you along as my assistant. There, we will train, for as long as it takes for you to become what you were meant to be." Jakebe rose, and walked off to consult Zack's father.

Zack looked at the portal in an odd way. He was surprised that Jakebe had convinced his father to let him come along, let alone that he had been allowed a weapon. A sword made out of cold iron was strapped to his back, and two daggers, one at each wrist in sheaths, made out of pure silver. The two metals he might be needing on this venture to the outside world. He took one last final look at Hell. It had taken six years for Jakebe to go on another hunt in the middle ground world, but at age sixteen, with most of his powers unlocked, Zack was finally going back home.

Zack and Jakebe emerged on the other side of the portal and he immediately knew why he had been allowed to carry a weapon. The scene around him was brutally vicious, and he had a dagger in each hand in a split second. Fifty were-wolves surounded him and Jakebe. "I want the big ones." Zack said, before launching himself into the fray with all the speed of a natural born shapeshifter. He moved in an animalistic way, slicing here, stabbing there, joints, fur, and meat flying in all directions around him. He was like a human scythe, and the were-wolves the corn that fell before him. He received a deep gash in the shoulder, and opened his jaw, not quite screaming, but roaring, and burying his teeth into the animals throat, tearing it out, and spraying himself with the blood of his latest victim. As his final foe was dispatched, he looked over at Jakebe. "Are you still not done yet?" He asked, sighing, and throwing his knife, digging it into the eye of the wolf right behind him, smirking as it fell. Jakebe quickly dispatched the remaining four wolves, and walked over to him.

"You have a gash on your arm. Were you bitten, or slashed?" "Bitten." Zack replied, smirking. "I've been waiting for a werewolf to bite me. I've already got the snake, bear, tiger, leopard, and lion inside me. I knew the wolf had to come soon." He said, pulling his dagger free of the eye socket of one of the fallen wolves. "So, Jakebe. I want the truth. How did my mother die? My father said it was from childbirth, but he's full of s**t. There's no way of that." Jakebe locked his arm around Zack's shoulder, and began walking through the trees, as Zack's shoulder closed itself with the easy healing of a lycanthrope. "She was murdered." He said, clutching the hilt of his own iron sword tightly. "How was she murdered? The entire lair was around her, standing with her." He said, stunned, and his eyes already showing the air of revenge. "She was murdered by a demon. One of your father's pets. Flagg. He snuck into the cave, and killed her silently, in a way that would make it seem natural." Jakebe's voice was downcast as he relayed this information to him. "Flagg." Zack said, his voice holding a growl to it. "The name will serve well with my killing him." "Zack no. You are not strong enough to kill Flagg. not eyt anyways. I want to unlock your potential, but to do that, you need to follow the will of your mind, and you need teaching. You have no idea what or who you are do you? Of course you don't. That's why I'm here to enlighten you."
