okay this will seem weird but i kinda trust you all so
i'm bi and i'm trying to decide whether or not to tell my parents that i'm bi
my dad is a homophobe
my mom is a Christian
i'm 17 as well if that affects how people vote

I would say to be honest with them. Your parents love you, right? If they really love you, and I'll bet they do, they'll let you be what ever you want to be. The truth is the best way to go.

You should probably wait until you have moved out so if they disown you it won't matter sweatdrop . I am Christian by the way and I don't care if you bi... you just are. They should accept you for who you are and if they don't then screw 'em.

If I may post my own opinion on the topic...
They say that people are gay or bi because of a gene they have that makes them prone to not being straight. (or something) But, they also say that there is a gene that makes people prone to worship etc... that does not mean that those people with the genes HAVE to be gay or spiritual.
Being gay or bi is a choice, whether people believe it or not. Saying that you have to be bi because your attracted to both guys and girls is like saying that you have to do drugs because your addicted to them. If being bi can hurt your parents, I'd suggest simply putting down the temptation of being bi.
I can understand that you and probably many other people dissagree with me on this subject, but I'd ask of you that, if you reply to my message, you respect my opinion as I respect yours. I'd like to go deeper into this topic with a conversation.
P.s. Hate the sin, not the people.

Your parents are there to love you, to support you. Tell them now- You'll have to tell them eventually anyway. Get it over and done with~
