Night time was the best time for the green numa. His pale green eyes seemed to glow in the light illuminated by the colorful lights that decortated his body. His white 'hair' was also bright, to the point they were almost blinding to anyone passing by.
Of course the christmas numa didn't realize it since he was too busy enjoying the night's breeze.
Wait.
It suddenly felt warmer than it had before. This confused Kisel
What's going on?

It hadn't been at all hard to find 'christmas'. As Beatrice had said, he looked like a tree, and moreover he glowed brighter than the moon and stars. He slipped up behind the numa, trying to look intimidating, which wasn't hard, angry as he was. The more he'd thought about it, the more convinced he'd become that this 'christmas' numa was the one behind Beatrice's lack of self confidence. As much as she seemed to care for him, it would be easy for one look, one cruel word, to destroy her self-image - as it had been destroyed when Elenshi met her.
After standing behind the green numa for a moment, Elenshi spoke. "Are you the one Beatrice names 'Christmas'?"

"Eh?" Kisel muttered as he whirled around, surpised. "Yes?" He replied obviously extremely confused. His brow was furrowed in confusion as he bright green eyes stared up at the other, questioning if you will. "How is she?"
It had been sometime since he had seen her and it left a empty feeling inside of him. A feeling that he definately didn't like. He was planning on visiting her soon...If he could figure out where she lived first.

Elenshi blinked. He'd built up this image of a likeable-but-callous numa, and the question was not something he'd expected to hear. "She's better than she was. No thanks to you. Tell me, did you accept her Valentine's Day gift she worked so hard on, or did you throw it in her face, as she feared?"
No matter if this numa was not exactly what he'd expected. He'd come here to make sure he would not hurt Beatrice anymore. And that's what he'd do.

"Better than she was?" He inquired still very confused. "What did I do to make her upset?" Inside Kisel was begining to panic, what could have possibly done to upset her? Whatever it was he'd make a point apologize for it.
His green eyes large with confusion. "I would never throw anything into her face, especially something that she worked so hard on. How could you think that?" Kisel's voice was raised slightly but he managed to keep it under control. He shook his head to keep himself under control, it would do him no good to freak. "Of course I accepted her gift, it made me happier than I could have ever thought, I was surpised that she would gift me with something like that, but I have never been happier that when I am around her....Why do you care?"

Elenshi sat down with a thump, his eyes wide. "I was wrong. You feel about her the same way I do, don't you? I thought...When she mentioned you, it sounded sad. I thought that meant that you were the one...who hurt her. Who made her think she was ugly and worthless. Who caused the damage I've been working so hard to undo..."
He hesitated. Why do I care? Because she is more important to me than myself, than the world... He was unsure about telling anyone how he felt, but if this numa felt the same way about Beatrice, then he deserved to know. He spoke softly. "I care...because I love her."

"Hurt her? I would never dream of hurting a beautiful soul such as her." Kisel replied to the fire marked numa. Kisel's voice then dropped to awhisper, almost inaduiable, when the other told him that he loved her. "You love her?" It felt like his heart was crushing, he didn't want someone else to love her, his eyes were wide before he closed them forcing his mind clear.
Despite the fact that he loved her himself, though he may not know what the feeling meant, he had to accept that someone else loved her as well and he wanted her to be happy. "How do you know when you love someone?"

"I don't know how it is for others. For me it's like..." Elenshi thought for a moment, trying to put it into words. "Beatrice is both my world, and the key to it. She is my life, my heart...I could no longer live without her, and am not sure how I did before I met her. She makes my life complete." He gave a wry smile. "A worn out phrase, but true. I would do anything to make her happy, and to protect her. Anything. Even if it meant..." He trailed off, swallowing hard. It hurt too much to consider. "Even if it meant giving her up, because she loved another more." He whispered the last. He looked up at the other numa. He wasn't sure how he knew, maybe it was because he felt the same way and recognised it in the other numa, but somehow he was sure the other numa was in love with Beatrice as well.

"You really do love her....." Kisel muttered staring that the other. It wasn't just in his words, it was the way he moved, the feeling in his voice, basically everything about him when he talked about her. "The only thing that I want is for Beatrice to be as happy as she could possibly be. That would make me happiest." He knew that it would hurt like hell if and when she turn to someone else for love, but he knew that he would be happy if she was happy.
A laugh came from him as he closed his eyes and tilted his head up to the sky. "I guess you could say I've fallen head-over-heels in love with her....." He then glanced at the other through the corner of his eye. "I do promise you that if you hurt her in anyway, I will hunt you down and make you pay a hundred times more pain that you gave her." His eyes were narrowed.
The normally sweet natured numa was dead serious about this. If Beatrice was hurt by -ANYONE- they would be in a hell of a lot of pain after he got through with them.

Elenshi hesitated. "It would be up to Beatrice. For all we know...For all we know she doesn't want either of us." THe possibility hurt, but it was there. "But...My human friend Kali once told me that our kind sometimes lifemate in sets of three. The time may come when Beatrice may decide she doesn't want to give either of us up - Are you capable of sharing her?" He wasn't entirely sure he would be capable, but if it would make her happy...he would try.
This is not turning out to be the conversation I expected. And it is...a much more difficult one. But one that needs to be had, I think.
"Beatrice told me that the two of us are the only ones she made Valentine's Day gifts for. So we should be prepared."

A nod came from Kisel accepting his fate should he hurt the beauty he had come to love. He knew that he would never hurt her, not on purpose but should the time come he would be ready and accept the beating that would follow.
The other's words stung, mainly the part of her possibly not wanting either of them. Swallowing he looked the other in the eye. "If you want the truth, then no, most likely not, I would try of course, anything to make her happy....Honestly I don't want to share her...."
Kisel loved Beatrice, he always had....he realized, from the moment he met her, from the first time they spoke.
Another nod from the christmas themed numa. "Yes...."

Elenshi swallowed. "I'm not entirely certain I could, either...but if it makes her happy...And if we're both agreed to try, we might manage it."
The numa paused in thought for a moment. "Perhaps...If Beatrice ever sees the two of us together, we should do our best to be cheerful at each other. She cares about us...and seeing us snarling at one another would just make her unhappy."

"Unfortunately trying is different than being able to do so...." Kisel told the fire-marked numa. Just because they would try didn't mean that they would succeed. Shaking his head he pushed the ill-thought from his mind and began to play with the lights that decorated his body.
"I will do the best that I can to keep her happy." That was the last thing the christmas-themed numa said to the other, focusing on his lights

"As will I, always." Seeing that the other numa was obviously done speaking, and the sun was starting to rise, Elenshi left on his way to find Beatrice at the tree where they always met.
