Helpful Info for first timers to the thread

Welcome to the Guild Coffee House. Here is the place where everyone in the bass guild can come for IC (In-Character) chat. There is a stage near the front, so the bassists can go up there and have a jam session with their band, or by themselves if they want to. There is a bar over to the right, which only serves non-alcoholic drinks. We don't want anybody getting drunk. Drunkness = Damage = No more Coffee House. There are tables set up all over the house, and a couple of couches over by the bar.

This is a Role-Playing thread, where everyone here can enjoy themselves in-character. You can do anything you want here. You can sit down at a table and have a drink, you can bring in your bass and jam, you can talk with the others in the House, and you can discuss bass-related issues with others in here. There is a barkeep NPC behind the counter. His name is Tom. Feel free to control him, as long as it's within reason. Also - no bumping, spamming, cybering, or anything of the sort here. This is an RP thread, not somebody's quest. Treat it that way.

Also, you can feel free to use your real names here. I'll be using mine. Hopefully that'll be an encouragement for everyone to start using their real names around here. We aren't just a guild - we're a family, a family of bass players, neh? Shouldn't we act like one?

Also, I'll be donating a code that everyone can feel free to use while RPing here.

Walking through the door into the newly opened Coffee House for the Guild, with my bass on my back, I was highly satisfied with myself. I would be the first to step inside, apart from the barkeep, Tom. I was happy with myself - I had been the one to suggest the idea for the construction of the Coffee House. As I stepped through, I called out to Tom.

"Hey Tom! How's it goin' man!"
"Not much Tommy. Did you tell everybody else about here?"
"You bet. I hope this place gets to be packed with the guild members, and maybe even their bands too. I stated on the Invitation that guild members could bring they're bands, so we can have some - live entertainment."
"That's not a half bad idea."
He paused. I walked over and put my bass over to the side, by the couch, on one of the stands that were neatly placed there for our members. After putting my bass on a stand, I walked over and had a seat at the bar.

"Care for a drink?"
"Sure, why not. Got any Dr. Pepper?"
"Of course! You're the one who suggested that we have 123 flavors of soda here."
"Heh... oh yea. I'll have a Dr. Pepper then."

I took the glass in my hand, and took a sip. I smiled a bit, and finished off the glass, eager for more to come join the party.

So... this is what it feels like to accomplish something. I hope everyone else is as satisfied as I am about this.

As I sat at the bar, chatting merrily with Tom, I was somewhat surprised to see another person walk in. He went straight to the point; as soon as he walked in he went straight up to the bar.

"Hi Tom. I'll have a Watermelon Italian Soda, please." he said bluntly, with a small smile on his face.
"Sure. Here ya go." Handing him the glass, Tom looked somewhat surprised at this man's blunt approach.
"Thanks Tom."

He sat down at the bar, and took a sip. Hm... I don't know this guy. Might as well introduce myself.

"Hey there. I'm Tommy." He didn't respond. He meaninglessly kept his eyes, and his lips, on his Italian Soda. I cleared my throat.
"So, whaddya think?"

I finaly look up from my drink.
Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you at first. My name is Isaac, nice to meet you. This place is pretty nice, but it could use a jukebox.
I look around the room and spot Tommy's bass.
What kind of bass is that ?

He finally looked up from his drink after a few minutes.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't hear you at first. My name's Isaac. Nice to meet you." He paused for a moment.
"This place is pretty nice, but it could use a jukebox." He said after his slight pause.
"Oh man... how could I forget that? Oh well, we can worry about that later. It's nice to meet you Isaac."

He looked over towards the couches, and spotted my bass, standing neatly on one of the stands.

"Hey, what kind of bass is that?" He asked me after looking.
"Meh.. it's a piece of crap. It's a Guitar Research. I got it for $100 at a pawn shop. I'm saving up for a new one currently." I took another sip from my Dr. Pepper.

"Hey Tom!"
"Hm?"
"Think we could get a jukebox in here? Isaac just thought of it. If you think about it, this place could use one."
"Not a bad idea. I don't know how soon I can get one, but when I find one I'll put it in here."
"Thanks Tom."

I turned to Isaac, swishing the last dregs of my drink in my glass. I downed them, and hopped off of the stool.

"Hey, did you bring your bass?" I said as I walked over to the stand and grabbed my bass. I jumped backwards onto the couch, and sat back up just as fast as I had come down. I did a couple of scales up and down the neck, and awaited a response from Isaac.

(Me and NoShoes can't be the only ones here... that's saaaad. lol)

Yeah, I brought mine
I pull out a Squire Jazz bass, in a nice looking sunburst finish.
After I order another soda I sit on the edge of the stage and start warming up.
So, what kind of music do you like to play ?

"Yea I brought mine." Isaac said as he pulled a really nice Squier Jazz bass, with a beautiful sunburst finish, out of what seemed like no where. He ordered another soda, and sat on the edge of the stage and started to warm up.
"What kind of music do you like to play?" He asked me.
"I dunno. It really depends what mood I'm in. But on a normal day, I really like to play jazz, metal, and anything fast. I absolutely love playing slap." I paused a bit.
"My favorite bands are Disturbed, Korn, and Slipknot, so I play a lot of them. What about you?" I paused again, awaiting an answer from a new friend.

( I didn't know you guys liked to roleplay, else I wouldn't made something like this a while back.. I'm happy you thought of it, Soku. smile )
She walks into the place with her dark eyes cast down. Not that anyone could tell, seeing as how they're hidden behind thick, black-framed glasses. Emo glasses is what the kids call 'em. She was suprisingly pale, and her dark-colored clothing did nothing to help. Her outfit consisted of the basics: dark-wash bootcut jeans, a black 2-row pyramid studded belt, black boots, and a black Led Zepplin t-shirt. Her brown hair was short, clipped back out of her face, and with a slight bob in the back. She had a slender figure, a little curvy, but slender nonetheless.
She walked straight over to the bar, and her first thought was along the lines of: Who would put a bar in a coffeehouse?
She shrugged off her critical opinion and decided to give the place a chance. She sat at the farthest end of the bar, slipped her gig bag off her shoulder, and set it down beside her with as much caution and care as if it were a newborn child.
Let's see what this place has to offer...
She scanned the place, her eyes falling upon the stage first, then around the rest of the place.
Nice set-up.
She looked at the bartender, her small voice squeaked slightly when she spoke. She wasn't much of a talker.
I'll take a Screaming Orgasm, Virgin, and on the rocks.
She smirked slightly. The name of that drink always made her laugh inside. She then turned to her gig bag, and unzipped the front pocket. She pulled out a book entitled TickTock by Dean Koontz.
She opened it up and began reading, crossing her legs under the bar counter.

I laughed a little as Isaac started to play "Imperial March". It was something that sounded funny - I mean, it was from the Star Wars movies.

"Hey man, where'd you learn to play that?" I asked him, half-shouting across the room. I was slightly surprised as a teenage girl stepped through the door. I watched as her eyes scanned the room, first falling upon the stage, then the tables and such. She shrugged a little as she looked toward the bar, the look on her face saying "What kind of idiot puts a bar in a coffee house?". I merely shrugged it off, and started playing "Illusion", a song by Creed. They had split up a bit ago. Nonetheless, it had a good tune, and I kept playing it.

She turned to the bar, and set her gig bag down.

"Screaming Orgasm, Virgin, and on the rocks please." She said simply, her voice a little squeaky. I could tell that she didn't talk much. She smirked a bit, and pulled out a book. I was too far away to read the title.

"Hey there. I'm Tommy. That's Isaac over on the stage." I awaited a response as I softened the tone and volume of my playing.

"Hey man, where'd you learn to play that?" Tommy asked me.
"I was just bored, so I decided to look up the TAB on the internet. It's pretty easy to learn" I answered, looking up when a girl enters the room."Hey there. I'm Tommy. That's Isaac over on the stage." Tommy says. I nod my head at her, and noticing her Led Zeppelin shirt, I start to play "Ramble On".

Walks in the front doors, gig bag strapped to back. Hears Zeppelin and knows he'll like it here. He paces up to the bar.
Hey, can i get a glass of green tea?
Sure, it'll be ready in a bit. If you'd like to take a seat, ill bring it to you when its done. Whats your name again? The barkeep asked, knowing full well that this person had neglected to mention his name. Looking at the waiters nametag, he replies.
I'm sorry, my name's Mike, Tom. hoping to have not come off as harsh, Mike finds an unoccupied couch, gets out his shoddy Fender Squier, and starts to play some Pink Floyd.

He walks up and leans on the bar, red Dean 5-string strapped to his back.Is there any chance this bar has BAWZ guarana? I'm in the mood for an energy drink.
The bartender replies by sliding a blue bottle of BAWZ down to Eternity's seat.
Thank you very much kind sir Eternity sighs in response.

The room was thick with heavy basslines and good vibes emitting from all bodies. His eyes scan the room and sits close to the other guild members.

Does anyone know any Pink Floyd songs? I'm in the mood for "Welcome to the Machine" but am too shy to play it myself.
