White wings all but glowed in the moonlight as Death floated above the ground. Her eyes were closed as she did so, though occasionally they would crack open to peer around and make sure she hadn't flown too close to the ground. It was the last thing she wanted to be able to bash into a tree after all.

She felt free up in the air, felt like she was at home as she floated over the lands on the wings of what appeared a ghostly angel. It felt as if the binds that tied her down to the earth just weren't there, like magic almost. She had always known that the sky was for her, but she also knew that at Khairi's side she felt the most comfortable.

It was something that tore her up constantly but as long as she had the wings on her back she would always have both wouldn't she? A tleast in theory. She wasn't quite sure what to think about what would happen in years, months, weeks or even days. Death ALWAYS lived in the now, always lived in the constant.

Maybe that was the best place ot live? It had certainly kept her mind off of what had happened in the past...

Strange hooves hit the ground at a rapid rate, sounding off the existance of quite possibly one of the strangest creatures to roam this flourished land, one who was both caring and at the same time, cursed into his eternity, almost having forgotten what he had been prior to having been suckered in oh so long ago. All this danced in his head everyday, and on these runs, it would play through his head over and over again. But unlike most days, he was content.

This was just a good run, something to air him out and wear him down. He had slept too much the day prior, and he was bursting with energy that the pascifist usually never had. He was usually so calm and collected - but now he just had to run, to get out and enjoy the night breeze. Green eyes streaked through the night, watching his area as each hoof hit the ground, almost like a miniature earthquake, leaving such a light imprint in it's wake - like a glowstick that accidentally cracks and pours on your pants. With a large, jack-o-lanturn like smile, one that cracked his maw almost to his ears, he turned a corner at a sharp rate, and came to a small hill, which brought him to an open clearning - one that was bathed in moonlight.

Taking a leap over the hill, every item that he wore, his riches and his prizes and his cherishable necklaces, sounded his presence that night, and so did his large size, hooves meeting such wonderful soft ground. This was a good night.

Doing a barrel roll up in the air that caused her mane and tail to be brushed back from her face and twirl out behind her, Death let out a whinny of happiness. The ankh around her neck banged against her chest in the most agreeable of ways. It was rare that the mare appeared something other than serene, but every time she did it was only when she was up in the air.

Down on the ground she was a serene little thing, always calm and always laid back. Not to mention incredibly tiny. Up in the air she was wild because she was free, she was large because her wingspan could spread to the end of the universe and her head could touch the stars or the sun if she wanted them to. And her body always took the color of what she was around, if it were dawn it would be the color of a sunrise, if it were noon it would be the orange color of the beautiful sun.

A flash down on the ground caught her soft gray eyes and Death froze in mid air, using her large white wings to hover in a way. In her eyes she saw down below her the strangest looking Soquili she'd ever seen in her life. He was running and leaving these marks on the ground that almost glowed in a way.

It intreigued her.

Wings folding so she fell from the sky like a rock, Death swirled down and spread her wings at the last moment, leveling out and landing on her hind legs a little ahead of him. She felt the strange urge to talk to the soquili with the grin of a jack-o-lantern.

It had truely caught him by surprise when he had only then realized another was in the same area as he was - and only then did it dawn on him to actually stop. Large illuminated eyes grew wide as the other suddenly appeared in his path, forcing him to stop his large body on a dime. Hooves hitting the grass, his momentum sent him moving forward just a little more, which shook him slightly, before he stopped dead finally, just a few inches infront of the bewinged female - heck, if he had the reason to, he could have touched her side with his horn they were that close.

Giving a large sigh from his nose, he finally attempted to upright himself, his jagged maw open slightly as he looked up to finally peer at whoever had just gotten in the brute's path, only to find the daintiest of mares infront of him, which only made him furrow his equine brown more. "Good lord, my dear, you gave me ssuch a scare!" He started, his hush voice attempting to express his distraught with almost barreling into her. "It'ss a good thing I ssaw you just as you landed, that would have been.. dissasssterous."

Great breaths of air were taken in as he finished his statement, showing his run to be a good and envigorating lap, but at the same time, his features showed that he was just lucky enough not to have made this a horse on Unicorn collision. That would have been a mess.

Gentle gray eyes looked up at the large unicorn male before her and Death swished her tail against her hocks for a moment, watching his zig-zagged muzzle open. Truely it was interesting to watch, caught her attention almost right away. Her ebony hooves clicked to the ground softly and she smiled softly up at him.

"I'm sorry, though I must say that your stop was stellar. Never have I see one so well executed." The little wind mare said up to him.

Her large wings fluttered over her thin back and she chuckled softly. He was so huge and quite interesting to look upon; from the glowing of his hooves to the pitch black of the rest of him. Of course the many necklaces immediatly drew her attention, due largely in part to the small shimmering ankh that hung about her delicate neck. Her gray eyes stayed rested on the line of his collar for the briefest of moments, in awe of his jewlery before settling on his glowing green eyes.

"I do appologize for my sudden appearance, but when I cast a glance down upon you I felt I must at least speak with you, even if for a moment. One doesn't meet one so interesting as yourself ever decade or so." She swished her white ears back for a moment before smiling gently at him.

Feeling the heavy watch of the other as he finally returned to his rightful bearings after such a slide, he couldn't help but over hear her murmurings to him as she took him in, his own eyes flickering here and there, at times resting on the much smaller mare, at other times keeping watch on the surrounding areas for any other spooks or surprises that may be lurking deep within. Flickering an ear to show his attentiveness, his jack-o-lanturn smile finally cracked once more.

"Consider it my lucky moment of the week then, for one sss~uch as myself is not sss~pared lightly from luck at timesss, but what can I ss~say, let uss not dwell on the past much longer, ss~hall we?" he mumbled softly, no signs of aggitation or remorse in his voice, showing his sincere wish to move on in the conversation, the crooked maw in a smile like form as he heard her talk about his look.

"It'ss wonderful to know I am sss~een as an interesting creature, esss~pecially one with dainty wings that let her float in the vast heavensss above us. Possibly bessst to state that this is a luck filled day for both of usss, it is not very often I am able to converss~e with the likes of your wonderful kind. Let uss~ start possibly with an exchange of names, then?" he stated truthfully, finally feeling a little more like himself and less like oh wait, where am I. Bowing his large head, tassles and braids and all of his jewelry set into array for a moment, the sweet sound of chingling heard twice, once when it went dipped, and it's return. "Mine would be Jack-B-Nimble. B as in the letter, not the word or inss~ect."

Gentle yet sharp eyes kept watch on where his own glowing ones flicked around, not missing where they were going yet also not commenting on it either. Some were simply born to be cautious, it wasn't something that she could find fault in as she herself was somewhat cautious as well. One had to be when they had wings that could be maimed and when they were as small as she was.

Putting all this from her mind at his bidding, Death nodded her gentle muzzle and attempted not to let a blush descend downwards over her cheeks from his words. Only Khairi ever spoke of her that way and Death wasn't even used to that, let alone a stunning stallion she'd just met who knew barely anything of her.

"Well then, for such a smooth tongue as you have I suppose I could let my name slide over." Death said, voice floating from her, "Death, not the actual thing just the word."

She wouldn't go into detail as to why she'd named herself that, it had been many a year ago and she didn't have the will or the steady mind to go down that road again. Dark times were best forgotten or honored and then moved past.

"So then what would a glowing wonder to behold such as yourself be doing out here on such a night my friend?" the mare asked calmly, still intreigued by his personage as she'd yet to meet a unicorn.

"What a wonderful name to have, full of power and at the sssame time, can be a** dainty as a butterfly. It isss a pleassure to meet you, then, dear Death," he stated softly, bowing his head towards her, amused at how wonderfully the other spoke. It was very hard in this day and age to find another who used their words so fluently with more of a poets voice, one who spoke in stories. It was a breath of fresh air, this fine night.

"As for the question asss~ to what I wasss doing, prior to thisss point, I wasss just getting some time away from everything for a good run. The middle of the night hasss alwayss been the besst time for that - normally nothing to abruptly interupt one from hiss own mind. No offence, of coursse." he answered truthfully, looking behind him to the tracks that were starting to revert to normal grass, except for the long streak that was him breaking. Turning back to her, he raised an eyebrow once, his jagged maw smiling to her.

"May I asssume that you were alsso getting some fressh air by yourself?"

"I must admit, I myself come out every night to spread my wings and feel my freedom from regret and temptation once more." Death spread her large wings out to either side of her and looked up with a wistful smile at the sky before turning her gentle gray gaze back to the male before her.

Not quite one to pry but then also not one to beat around the bush, Death inclined her head to his answer as she nestled her wings back at her sides once more. The ghost wasn't without her respect after all, just careful where she laid it when it came to the words and actions of others. There were those in the world to be trusted for their kindness and the way that they spoke in rhythm and languate, but then also there were those that were to be feared for something of such the same lines.

"It's a pleasure to meet one like yourself out on such a night though. I've always found it interesting to meet those that speak as if they come from the ages past, rather than the newcomers who speak without their hearts and only with their muzzles." It hadn't gotten past her how the other seemed to use the effect of his eyes and how they blazed to make his point known, yet also amuzed her to find that some things in those blazing eyes could be hidden much better as well. Maybe it was fate that she would meet such an outstanding ghost on a night when the moon was out.

Ghosts seemed to haunt the earth on such nights after all.

"Alass, youth isss infectiouss, though. This iss a great place for youthful ssoulsss to attempt to find a new life with sssomeone that captures their heart, I would asssume." the voice stated, but the grinning maw never changed, "But I do agree, the night time creatures are much nicer to converssse with, I would expect becaussse we are jussst waltzing around, there isss nothing to russsh towards." he finished, before flickering his tail and taking a few steps back, and turning to the area he had originally burst through.

Giving the trail a grin and a nod of his head, he looked to the dainty lass, figuring he was going to be here for a little while longer with the whisp of a mare. It was interesting conversation, and he was away from everything he wondered about during the day. "Besssides, moonlight is much nicer than the harsssh, direct ssunlight that pours down onto the valley. Very hot, very bothersssome during the sssummer."

"'Youth is wasted on the young'. Or so they say." Death said simply, a chuckle gliding from her white muzzle as she pondered the other's words for a moment. "I believe that nighttime creatures know more than those who's hooves tread in the daylight. They've seen more, know more of the shadows and their mystery than one that thrives in the sun's glow could ever know."

Adjusting her stance so that she could stand on even legs while they talked, Death amuzed herself by smiling up to him, watching his glowing countenance seem to make the very air around him shimmer. He was a very impressive stallion, she would give him that much, it was shocking to be in his presence at all, let alone speak with him.

"Sunlight damages and burns, it does more harm than it could ever hope to do good. The moonlight's caress is far more alluring."
