The Kusini lands were boring. WAY too boring. Why didn't anything exciting ever happen there? It was just bore, bore, bore day in and day out. She was getting vaguely tired of the monotonous routine, and she was looking for a refreshing change.

So, instead of just hanging around the lands until she practically fell asleep from boredom, she decided that she would leave and explore the lands around the Kusini for a little while. What was the worst that could happen? She ran into an orphaned cub and it attached itself to her? She laughed at the thought. Any cub that dared touch her or follow her around would get a swift bite to the face. That would teach it to mess with a princess.

As she passed over the border of her uncle's pride, she flicked her tail curiously and glanced around with her strikingly blue eyes. It wasn't that she was afraid, it was just that she had never really been away from the Kusini lands, and so she wanted to make sure she didn't do anything foolish. And heading into uncharted territory without checking the surroundings first was definitely a foolish move.

Thinking she was rather clever, she lifted her head and grinned to herself. The princess was untouchable.

Growing more and more confident as she left the confines of the Kusini'Mwezi pride, Rin found herself almost strutting along. She was arrogant, it was true, although she would never admit that out loud. But hey, she had a reason to be as she was. She was royalty!

And royalty deserved respect. So where were her subjects?

If anyone was to ask the crimson and black striped male where they were, Mpinduzi would, most likely, shrug his shoulders and simply turn away.

Helping others wasn't his nature and his only rules that he lived by were survival of the fittest and the view that life was cruel, ruthless and savage; if one wanted to truly make something of themselves and live to see another day, there were risks and tasks that one had to perform, even against ones very will, to ensure that they would live to fight another day. Growing up alone when he was barely at his juvenille years had tolled heavy upon him, watching his family and fellow pride members wither away and die right before him because of the great that had plauged their land. How he was even able to leave his family behind and still remain alive while they had passed on was shadowed and kept secret within his past.

Some would believe that such an act was heartles, vile, and inhumane- abandoning ones family in the time of need was betrayal and disloyalty. But what was he suppose to do? 'Duzi was given two choices: Die alongside his family in the famine or take a risk and choose life which also could prove futile in any attempt in trying to stay alive. If he was going to die, he'd rather die trying or fighting for a cause he believed in.

But his past was something that had made him strong, it was something that fueled rebellion into his veins and had given him strength and the courage to stand up for,not only himself, but for his beliefs and opinons as well. He was a fiery, hot-headed, stubborn male whose agression was always on high and whose intentions were only centered upon his own interest.

He was, simply, a rebel.

As his tattered, thick black mane swept as a small breeze rustled against it, causing it to drft upwars and sweep before his eyes, 'Duzi drifted alone within the- hell, he didn't even know where he was!

"Does't seemed like it's claimed territory," he mused, keeping a gruff and rather foreign accent voice low. Glancing about his crimson eyes seemed to dart in every direction while his anticipation was peaking high, the rouge furrowed his brows and continued wandering farther into the middle of nowhere.

"Bloody hell!" 'Duzi scowled with a slight growl as he rose his right forepaw slightly up and slashed his claws through the tall grasses. "Where the hell am I?"

Rin didn't know much about these lands either; she didn't know if they were claimed, if anyone even lived in these lands, or if anyone even knew about these lands. What she did know, however, was that they were almost right outside of the Kusini lands. That meant that she had good enough excuse to go about wandering in them. If anyone bumped into her and asked, she'd just tell them they were on her uncle's lands. That would get rid of them.

Her history wasn't so.. colored as it could have been for a lion. There was no reason for the way she acted and the way she thought other than the fact that that's how she wanted to act and think.

She was born to royalty, that was true, but she was born to the branch of royalty that would never see the power of a throne. It caused for some hatred and jealousy to burn within her, but none that she felt too strongly. Being queen would have been quite the hassle, she thought. As queen, she could never leave the lands she ruled over. She would also have to deal with the nagging of her pride members. That she could live without.

Moving along, her eyes sweeping the landscape, she wondered if anyone had ever been out here aside from the ones that had come to join her uncle's pride.

As the red lioness moved along, her sensitive ears picked up the sound of a moving voice. It was coming towards her, and she lowered her head, narrowing her eyes. Whoever was coming closer, he didn't know where the hell he was. He said so himself, and she found herself smirking.

"You're right outside of the Kusini'Mwezi pride, rogue," she said, projecting her voice so that he would have no trouble hearing her. Unless he was deaf. She had a deaf relative, and it really was no fun. "What is your business here?" she said, half growling. She didn't like rogues. A lot of rogues had recently joined the Kusini pride, and she felt they tainted her family's pride with unwanted blood. If this one wanted to join, she'd do all she could to steer him away.

The brows of the crimson and black brute furrowed his brows as he slumped onto his haunches. A foul and aggrivated scowl plastered itself upon his maw as his ears swiveled back against his skull. This was effed up all the way- was this really that barren and desolate? A irritated growl slipped from between his clenched jaws as he shook his black, tattered mane, sweeping small bangs from out of his eyes.

"Bloody-- this place ain't that bad, maybe there's some blokes wandering out farther. I can't be the only lion out here," he muttered, way beyond flustered and tired with searching for anyone or anything.

A rogues life consisted of wandering, a nomad lifestyle and never finding oneself to be tied down to a pride or having to answer to a "higher authority". For 'Duzi, his level of commitment and perseverance in fending for himself and surviving could very well be implimented under serving within a pride but- well, the idea for now never did suite him. And he was far better fighting for his own causes than having to become bloodied and wounded while the head figure of a pride sat there, letting his warriors and his own members fight for him rather than facing his own demons head on.

Having to use others to fight your battles for you, to defeat ones own problems instead of having the courage to take them on head on never did sound appealing to the male but, if it was for a cause where he could aid in letting rebellion reign free and creating an uproar, that was something he could do.

Before his mind could even formulate another thought than reflecting upon his loss of directions, 'Duzi's ears suddenly pricked forward as a voice broke through the silence, yelling a bit loud that is.

"The Kusini-whata pride?" He stammered, such an odd name was quite difficult to roll off his very odd, unusual accent. The foul scowl that had plastered upon his maw was quickly replaced with a loathing as a snarl curled upon his lips. "Wait- don't bloody tell me," he spat, crimson eyes narrowing towards her.

There certainly was something about her; a certain haughtiness and arrogance that seemed to keep her head holding high and a disgusted expression that seemed to be directed towards him. This lioness was undoubtedly one who was- royaltly was it?

"You're one of those lioness's who have to act so damn "I'm better than you" attitudes, aren't 'cha? I can see it; the posture gives it away and so does the coldness in your eyes. Look, "princess", I'm not here to join your damn pride or subject myself to under some effed up ruling by those who have a superior nature." His fiery, hot headed temper was getting the better of him- this wasn't going to be good.

"I have no business in these lands so go terrorize and threatenly growl at another bloke who'd be sure to quiver and tremble in your presence 'cause I'm not him."

Flicking his tail behind him as he rolled his eyes, Duzi shook his head and grumbled.

"Females..."

Rin's eyes widened considerably as she found herself face-to-face with, not a peaceful rogue, but a full-on, angry, dirty, growling rebel. She smirked to herself, her general surprise fading rather quickly. She liked his attitude, but only for a moment. Perhaps it was the fact that he was in a way similar to her--and she couldn't have any competition--or maybe it was just the way that his words rubbed her fur the wrong way. Whatever it was, her liking of him quickly faded, and her smirk was replaced by a silent growl.

She was young, and rather small, but then a small fire could easily burn out of control. She laughed at all who underestimated her. Unknowing to anyone, not even her parents, she had been tossing around tough wildebeest hides. It strengthed her shoulders. She ran around, chasing fleet-footed rabbits to strengthen her leg muscles. She had a ways to go before she could completely defend herself, but she was becoming rather muscular. She could give anyone a nice scar before they took her out, in the least. That alone was enough to satisfy her for the time being.

"Fiesty," she rumbled, though not necessarily pleased by that fact. He would be difficult to get rid of. Especially since she liked to argue, and he seemed like one that wouldn't have a problem with that either.

"The Kusini--" She was about to repeat it for him, since she was directly tied into the royalty of that pride, but he quickly cut her off. She growled deep within her throat, her tail lashing from side to side in anger. No one dared to cut her off! Especially not some idiotic brute who didn't even know where the hell he was.

"For your information, I am better than you, low-life peasant," she spat, her ears folding back in aggression. Yet as Duzi went on talking about how he could tell by her posture and the way that her eyes gleamed a certain way that she felt she was better than him. And he was absolutely right, much to her satisfaction. She believed that if you didn't believe that you were better than everyone else or worth some attention, then neither would anyone else. She felt she had to set an example, though for what exactly she wasn't all too sure about yet.

Raising her brows slightly, she let out an easy laugh. "I don't want you to join my pride, brute. Besides, it's my uncle who rules the pride, not me," she hissed, anger hidden beneath. "But in fact, I'd rather you leave and give this pride a break. It doesn't need idiots like you tainting it."

Rolling her eyes, she huffed. "Damn males.. they aren't good for anything," she murmured to herself.

Pompus, arrogance and haughtiness.

'Duzi could only give a malicious smirk to any lion or lioness who believed whole heartedly that having to hold yourself in such high reguards aside from everyone else, making yourself worth the attention, was worth having to make an unnecessary row, give one the right to mercillesly kill and eliminate those who they considered a threat. He once had faith in prides and rulers but with the treason against one of his own mates being killed by a fellow pride member concerning the others dominance and stature within the pride.

When the soul and body craves dominance to an extent where all is fair game and lives are worth nothing, 'Duzi can only snarl and bristle his fur in such deepend hatred for any ruler whose views of such irrotic and savage behavior. His heart has turned against them and his mind against the thought of ever subjecting himself within a pride with the expeirence of their leaders becoming totalitarianistic and sacrificing their best lions to the consuming conflicts and uprises that, eventually, lead even the strongest and brightest of minds to become nothing than a casualty and a lost soul forever chained to death.

Another sacrificed future, another lost bezzy mate.

His crimson eyes narrowed with a fiery glare, flashing his pearly whites with a deep chuckle. "Peasant," he sneered, tilting his head slightly as he padded around her.

"A low life? Perhaps, but "Rebel" suits a bloke just fine. Why hide what he is? And I wouldn't even damn thing about joining your uncles bloody, barmy and beastly pride? Your uncle's just like every other lion; a hacky, manky b*****d who gets his pride into shambles and deals a hit for six to any member, killin' them off and cherishing the typical "bloodline". I've seen it too much and rulers like those don't have the bollocks to effin' stand up or protect their own members."

A deep growl sounded thickly within his throat as he stepped towards her. There was something about her appearance that seemed to strike a recollection of a pride- a pride of lions whose dignity and dominance was anything and everything they fought for. Oh yes- and there was something they did that he loathed.

His ears fell against his skull as his muscles became taunt. So, perhaps she was part of the lions that he had heard who take slaves. Such a thought never boded well with him.

"And whats a damn shame is when prides capture and take in slaves. If a bloke can't hold the dignity and equality and feels the need to effin' take in slaves from other prides then what respect should I have to show? I'm not the one whose half-sharp," he retorted, rising his shoulders upwars as he lowered his head and leveling his eyes with those of the lioness.

"You and your uncle and his mindless, bloody minions are the ones who are effed in the head. May the gods send you and your "family" to the dogs, princess." He bowed, turning away from her until a rather devious and intrigued expression drew wide across his maw. "Rather, I'd rather sit right here and try and taint your precious lands as much as I can." Glancing over to where a good rock sat within the tall grasses, 'Duzi leapt up and planted himself on his haunches upon it.

Wiggling upon it, the rogue smirked as it was too tempting to continue drawing out the argy-bargy confrentation. "Maybe those "damn males" aren't good for anything 'cause their hot to trot nature hasn't broken you yet. Don't hold it against males if they haven't "satisfied" you."

"Best drop the hang-ups and horlicks if you want to get anywhere."

If Rin had had the ability to read minds, and if she had read his, the red female probably would have laughed at his thoughts. She would have thought them foolish, and she would have accused him of jumping to conclusions. She may have been haughty and arrogant, but she wasn't a killer. Besides, her fur was red enough without the tainting of blood upon it. Sure, she may have wanted to become a queen and to rule over something, but that didn't mean she was going to rip out some throats to get it. That game was far too bloody. She preferred to be born upon such ruling.

Glaring at him as he passed around her, her own fur began to bristle. He was bigger than her, if not merely by age than by some other form of size as well.

"I guess there's no reason to hide yourself if you are so blunt with the way you live as to not care what others thought," she sneered. She despised others that didn't give a damn what others thought. The thinking of others was important, for without others there was no room to be popular, there was no room to gain respect and admiration. A king or queen could not rule a pride of one.

Yet as Duzi went on to assume what her uncle was like, she couldn't help but to snarl at him, her ears flattening and her whiskers twitching with anger. "How DARE you generalize my uncle like that," she growled, tail waving from side to side. "I may not like him completely, but you have just got everything completely upside-down, peasant. My uncle cares more about the pride than you might for your rebellious ways. He loves his pride, and he loves his family." Although, how far that family term went, she wasn't all that sure. But he did love his family. "He would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat if it meant that his pride could live on peacefully."

Her anger subsided into confusion as the male spoke of slaves. Where had that come from? She had never generalized herself with the Firekin, since she didn't have any close Firekin relatives. So the connection that he made between that enslaving pride and her coat was lost in translation.

"I don't know what you're talking about," she growled honestly. "This pride doesn't hold slaves. You've got it mixed up. Maybe you shouldn't assume."

She was going to say more on his generalizing her family, but she was too distracted by the fact that he had decided to stay, to taint her lands as much as possible. This set her off just as much as anything else, and she growled low, her eyes narrowing at him. "You wouldn't want to stay under some 'bloody' king anyways," she growled, mockingly.

"I don't need a damn male to make me happy," she huffed, padding over stiffly towards the rock where he had planted himself.

"Now leave," she growled, not understanding half the words that he said. He had a strange accent and spoke a funny language mixed with the one that she knew. It was confusing, though she would never admit it. But why would he just leave?!

Neither phased or startled by the sudden outburts, Mpinduzi rolled his eyes and dropped at the back of the rock. How dare he? Oh, he couldn't help it! It was his nature to stand opposed and to cast stones but- perhaps, this time his was digging his claws into the wrong flank. Pivoting about as the rock created a barrier between he and the haughty lioness, 'Duzi sat back on his haunches and crossed his paws upon the rock while his body leaned forwards and his stomach pressed against it in a comfortable state.

His flaring temper suceeded as confusion seemed to catch her off guard. Blood and sand! At least something stopped her from makin' a row! Narrowing his elusive and mysterious crimson eyes towards her, 'Duzi settled his head upn his paws.

"Well then I'm sure as hell bloody sorry for the wrong accusation on holdin' slaves," he snorted, an irritated but small attempt at tryin' to smooth out what he could. But his ears fell quickly against his skull as his tail twitched behind him, claws gripping menacingly upon the rock face.

"Maybe I shouldn't assume? You're best not to give anyone that cheeky blag! Maybe you shouldn't assume about those you run into are worthless, scummy, manky blokes who're only gonna deal you a hit for six each time you come in contact with them. Life aint' that bad, is it? Do you always have the need ta' wear a mask and hide yourself under thick skins, ta' barracade your emotions from every bloke and being hardcore inta' thinkin' every mates dodgy and nothin' but hacky?"

A slight snarl flashed upon his maw as he shook his head.

"But I can at least lay here and bloody rest for a bit, maybe knock a bit of sense and help a mate open their eyes to what they actually have," he smirked, not waivering and letting her mocking attempt roll off his shoulders.

'Duzi couldn't help but furrow his brows, tilting his head slightly. Was she serious? And that cold? "You might think you don't need a male to make you happy but, truth be told, every mate needs a friend to make them happy, ta' make them smile and to feel loved. That's what some people lack in their life; love. And it's a simple thing that can change lives and even mend hearts."

"Not yet," he replied, a rather intriuged and curious smile spread wide across his maw.

"Tell me, if a rose is a rose, why does she have to appear and carry herself like she's nothin' but rubbish. It doesn't show physically, mind ya', it shows emotionally. Why do you hide, princess?"

Rin glared at the other lion, upset that he didn't even seemed phased with anything that she did. She was used to being looked up to, to being given all of the attention she wanted. She was a princess, and damnit she was used to being treated like one! So the fact that he didn't just ticked her off a bit.

But then he apologized--kind of--for thinking that it was her uncle's pride that took in slaves. She was only slightly appeased for this, for he didn't apologize for grouping her uncle with those other worthless scum that dared to call themselves leaders. She was vicious and aggressive, but that didn't mean she didn't know a good leader when she saw one. She knew what it took to rule a pride properly and though Tamu was rather shy and quiet, she felt he could really help the pride.

Huffing at the 'apology', if only to show that she heard it, she settled herself down and waited. She wasn't leaving until he left this place. She seriously didn't want him tainting her pride's blood.

But then he went on about her assuming and hiding behind a mask, and she rose to her paws again, fur bristling to the max. "I do not hide behind a mask!" she growled, although it was a lie. She didn't know it, however, for it was something she wouldn't even admit in her hearts of hearts. "I am who I am." But was she, really? She asked herself that for a moment, then immediately growled at herself. She knew who she was, and this male wasn't about to make her second-guess herself.

Narrowing her eyes at him, she looked away for a moment. "What do you know about what I need?" Then she lifted her head and glared at him again, her tail flicking back and forth angrily. She really hated this guy.

Then he started talking about roses. She rolled her eyes, and basically tuned him out until he got to the part about her hiding. She growled again.

"I don't hide. I don't need to hide."

Listening as she gave a huff, Duzi gave a small smile as he flicked his tail and curled it around him. His shoulders loosened as an eased sigh seemed to escape from his maw.

But Mipinduzi should have expected that the fire would rekindle once again and ignite another confrentation.

Narrowing his eyes as she was quick to rise to her paws, Duzi frowned. "If you didn't hide behind a mask, you'd know who you are, what you want to aspire to, and what you're capable of. Those who don't hide know themselves inside and out. Can you really say that you're satisfied wit' yourself? Are you happy princess?"

"Princess, you need alot of bloody things," he dryly replied, rolling his eyes slightly and pursing his lips. "First, you could use someone who understands you, someone who you don't have ta' feel the need ta' prove yourself. Not a bloke to beat up or to deal hit for sixes at, just a bloke who can make you feel loved, someone who can make ya' feel safe. Everyone needs ta' find love, everyone needs ta' be loved." His crimson eyes settled upon her with ease, looking at her with a solemn and suttle stare that wasn't malignant or cold- just a simple look that seemed to try to look into her soul, trying to figure her out.

Leaping down from the rock, Mipinduzi shook his black, tattered mane and paced slightly around her until he sat upon his haunches a bit away from her.

"Whethe' you admit it or not, princess, you hide because you can't find yourself."

Rin listened to the male, if only to amuse him. She didn't believe what he said, none of it. The whole hiding behind the mask and being unable to find oneself, it was all ridiculous. If she didn't know herself or if she couldn't find herself, then why would she go strutting around, acting confident and sure in her power? Obviously he knew nothing about her.

Nonetheless, that didn't stop his little lecture from hitting rather close to home. She didn't know what it was, but something that he said just made her blood boil.

"I'm perfectly satisfied with myself!" she growled, perhaps with too much emotion than was necessary. Something in her tone and the way that she said it made it seem like it was false words, that the words were just hollow and really had no meaning. The female could detect it, and she hoped that it would go by unnoticed by Duzi.

"What do you care if I'm happy or not?" she spat back, avoiding the question. He was prying too far past her wall, and she didn't appreciate it at all.

"I don't need anybody. I am fine by myself, and I don't need a damn male to make me feel loved. Love..." she growled and shook her head. "I dont' care about love. Love only breaks hearts, and it does nothing for the soul except to make it soft and unable to fight." And she was a fighter. She wouldn't let love change that. "Besides, I'm safe enough without a b*****d," she spat.

As he came down from the rock and began pacing around her, finally settling down and looking at her with those piercing eyes, Rin found herself faultering slightly. She narrowed her eyes and hissed slightly to try and cover up.

"What do you know about me?" she growled low.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 07, 2007 9:04 am

Was this lioness blind? Perhaps her senses and overexaggerated approach of trying to hide her true self from the world behind the confines of a mask had distorted her perspective and her outlook on herself and life. Did she not know how to chistle herself out from the stone that she had encased herself in? Confining herself as well as her heart away from the world?

But why was 'Duzi wasting his time with her?

His muzzle wrinkled as a small frown curled upon his maw. He didn't know how to explain it (and he certainly wasn't going to put it in words) but there was something driving him, urging him, to dig deeper- not in a prying manner, but to excavate and to make sense of why the lioness before him seemd to barracade herself.

Black ears swivled back as he shook his head along with his black, tattered mane. "No, Princess. You're not fine with you' self," he spoke softly, becoming calm, serene and in a peaceful state as his anger had smoothed over from the once tumultious state that it was most oftenly in.

"Why do I care? Blood and sand! Ta' be honest, I see somethin' in you but it's hidden away in ice an' snow. I may be a 'peasant' or a Rebel, but that doesn't mean that I can't see the good in people."

Again 'Duzi shook his head.

"Every bloke and sheila needs someone an' even the strongest of lions can only hol' on fo' so long until bitterness, loneliness and despair consume their hearts and souls. But, Princess, love is somethin' that can give you even greater strength. Love protects, love strengthens, an; it uplifts the soul an' refines it with entwining with another." His brows furrowed as she dodged and avoided every attempt he was making. Mipinduzi had set his mind to trying to decipher this lioness and he wasn't going to throw in the towel. "Maybe you don't need a bloke ta' make you feel loved but it seems ta' me that you at least need a friend."

As he continued to pad around her, 'Duzi narrowed his eyes and gave a small smirk. "Is that all blokes are? Pe'haps if you'd stop tryin' to leg it from who you really are and what potential you can live up to you'd see things in a whole new light."

Instead of growling and kindling the tension, the crimson and black striped male purred softly as his tail and body seemed to swagger in a walk.

"What do I know 'bout you, Princess?" He replied, pursing his lips slightly as he glanced towards her. "You hide behind a mask, neva' give any blokes a chance ta' get ta' know who you really are and appear as if you've encased you're heart within ice an' stone. But behin' all that, there's a lioness whose lookin' fo' somethin' more- everythin' that you hate is, secretly of course, what you're scared to find but you still search for it. Even you are lookin' ta' find someone who can understand you- protect you and keep you safe."

Biting on his lower lip as he furrowed his brows in thought, he smiled. "As for the rest of ya', I'm still tryin' ta' figure you out."

Rin narrowed her eyes at the other, once again, as he seemed to shoot something at her that she found completely astounding. And not in a good way. It annoyed her how he seemed to try and correct her, to tell her that she didn't know the whole truth and that she was hiding behind a mask or some such crap. What was this fool talking about? She snorted at him, and threw her head back in 'royal' disgust.

"How do you know if I am or if I'm not fine with myself?" she growled, her tail flicking back and forth angrily. She hated how he seemed to think he knew so much on how she felt, on how she viewed herself. He must have been crazy.

But her stance lightened somewhat as he mentioned seeing something in her and that, no matter what he was considered by anyone, he felt that he could find good in others if he wanted to. Her ears flicked quizzically, but a moment later it all passed and she was looking at him through narrowed eyes once more. Her watery blues seemed ablaze with anger at how he thought he knew so much over her, so much that only she could really know. After all, he wasn't Rin, she was!

"And I suppose you're just trying to be a good fella, helping me find myself?" she asked, feigning interest and excitement. But then it got pushed right over as her angry side took over again. "I think not," she hissed.

With the talk of love and all that other mushy crap, the female practically tuned him out. She didn't need to hear the greatness of love or what good love could do to the soul or some other bull such as that. It was ridiculous. Did he really expect her to go about believing what he said? She didn't need love! She didn't need anything, nor anyone. She was perfectly capable of taking care of her own self and of keeping her hide. She certainly didn't need this softy to go and 'show her the light'. Really. She had thought him almost compelling, what with how he was such a rebel and so reckless, but now she could see that she had thought wrong.

Never assume. Never again.

Growling at him, the red lioness snapped, "How dumb. If you really think that I'm going to believe any of that, that I need any of that s**t, then you really are dumb. I don't need anyone. I don't need love." She paused and tossed her head at this. Like she would really allow a male to come in to her life and make her feel all weak, as if she needed to be protected. She hated feeling weak, and she hated being underestimated. She was a female, but she was as tough as any male.

But something in the way that he looked at her, in the way that he spoke and lectured her.. it was unlocking something within. But she attempted to shut it down, and fast. Rin was tough! She had muscles and could fight and hunt like any other. And here he was treating her like a fragile creature. She didn't like it.

So she used her anger towards that to keep out a growing feeling that she knew could only spell disaster.

"Well stop," she snarled in reply to him saying he was still trying to figure out. "I don't want you prying into anything, not ever. You understand? Now get off these lands." Her voice was quivering, but she turned away too quickly, turning her back to him. She stood there for a moment, her ears against her skull. What was he doing to her?

'Duzi narrowed his eyes and flickered his black ears. For a lion who was rugged, brutish and a rebel who fought for a cause- Duzi was keen on deciphering individuals and breaking them down, chistling away the ice and stone away until he was left with the wholesome, real truth to the individual and their personality.

He shurgged as his black, tapered mane drifted about and whisped in a jagged array. "'cause words don't hol' truth- and I can see through your eyes an' look at all the sorrow, pain and hatred you hol'. You're anythin' but 'appy, Princess."

It seemed as if it was a bloody battle! Blood and sand! There certainly were moments where he could discern a small breakthrough, the mask chipping off in areas that were letting him see the real 'Princess'. But it felt as if it continued to fortify yet there was a weakness that was continuing to grow.

Duzi was getting somewhere.

"I'm just a bloke whose takin' somethin' who doesn't know who she is an' making 'er see what potential she has," he replied, keeping a cool and collected presence as she continued to bear her fangs and defend herself against every spoke word.

Her reaction to what love was seemed to instigate a low growl from deep within his chest. How could anyone be so cold, so vile and revolting towards it? Love was something that could capture hearts, fortify ones strength and make even the weakest of lions feel invincible! Certainly if she was a lion whose efforts were in gathering strength, why wasn't she seeking love? Of cours, the thought of being turned soft could divert any lion whose appitite was directed towards power run away and leg it elsewhere.

'Duzi was a pure blooded rebel- sometimes brash and reckless, but he had a good head on his shoulders and kept a part of him hidden (the very part of him that he was exposing) and secret unless he could use it.

"No, Princess," he stated, keeping a nonchalant yet a pleasing tone to his voice, "I'm afraid you're the one whose' dumb fo' eva' thinkin' that love is nothin', that it's not important and is all nothin' but rubbish. Every bloke and sheila needs love- even you. 'course you're too stubborn ta' eva' admit it, isn't that right?"

He continued to slowly walk around her, his tail swaying in a slight saunter as he gazed towards her with his captivating, yet mysterious, crimson orbs.

"Stop? But you've made progress an' we're gettin' somewhere," he smiled warmly, padding towards her as she turned away and sitting in front of her upon his hanches. "I don't think I can understand wha' you said. You're voice was quiverin' and I think you're beginin' to understan' the feelings you've got inside of ya'."

As the male said that he could see through her eyes the feelings that were tumbling about inside, she narrowed said eyes and turned her head slightly, skewing his vision of her face. She didn't want him seeing into anything, whether he thought it was for her good or not. He was bothering her--in more ways than one--and she wanted nothing more than to get away from him.

Now.

And love, what did he know about love? From what she could tell, he was alone and was destined to be that way for the rest of his pathetic life. Her tail lashed back and forth as he dared to scold her and lecture her on the importance of love. It made her want to simply snarl and claw his tongue out so that he may never talk to her that way again.

If he had any sense, Rin thought, he would leave while he was still 'ahead'.

"I'm not too stubborn to admit anything, because there isn't anything to admit to," she snarled, her blazing blue eyes moving to watch his every move as he circled around her. "I'm perfectly fine the way I am, and I am happy with the life that I have. You should just shut your trap before you ruin something."

Folding her ears back flat against her head, the female lashed her tail once more. "We aren't getting anywhere," she growled low. "The only place I'm getting to is home, and the only place you are getting to is somewhere far away from here." Moving, she turned away from him and made as if to head back into the Kusini lands.

And she ignored everything he had said.
