His tail flicked side to side, his eyes glancing around him as he walked along the path of these pride's territory. He was new to this area actually. He had never been far from the jungle in the past days. This has been the frst time since he had ever left the jungle. A bit getting used to, Ba'kru was seeking a tree that he would call home while he was out here. He had never lived out of a tree before. He always slept in one, hunted in one, ate in one. Being on solid ground felt weird. With a glance to his back, he ran a full sprint into the sunset.
twenty minutes was as far as he got before he fellt and out of breath. He halted and sat down, panting heavily. A jungle cat is not suppose to run.... no they were to climb. With another sigh, he curled his tail around him and looked around. Where was the closest tree?
"The one to the right.... too far.... the one to the left.... too short, I'd be easy game."
It seemed that any one of them that he spotted were either too far or too short. Maybe this savanna stuff isn't as great as it sounded.

Uri was out running. He'd skirted the Pridelands once he'd left the cheetah lands, and another territory he didn't know the owners of to get to the unclaimed space. The open savannah where rogues roamed free. That sounded very romantic...but he knew it was dangerous out here as well.
Which is why he kept taking breaks, getting drinks, in between bursts of speed. It had been a while since he'd just run for pleasure. But he was in a better mood that he'd been in a long time, dashing across the grasslands.
And surely he looked fabulous, a dark, sleek and speedy cheetah, white spots flashing? It was good for his self esteem, that mental image.

Ba'kru sighed and looked around for the closest tree that he had stamped as "too far". WHen he said "too far" it meant it was too far for him to run to, so a walk would have to do it. He got to his feet and walked along to the nearest tree to his right. He could see a glimmer of a water hole there so, it was a good place to rest up before heading out to find a better place to call home.
Home.... a large big tree, maybe a few of them, a water hole down below for drinks. Maybe a place where lots of other animals gather around, he'd make a few friends and who knew, maybe a good female to get close with. Nah, who was he fooling no one would settle down with such a vandal like himself. Then again, the only thing that he did deface were trees.
With a sigh, he pushed on and sought his to-be home.

Another break was in order, Uri decided, as he pulled up short of the nearest water hole panting for his breath. His fur was starting to get too warm as well. The grey, teh soft black, sucked in the heat of the sun. A reminder of why he preferred the night time to the light of day.
However, he spotted something nearby. Something blue. What was with this area and its unnatural creatures! It made it so hard to tell what things were. It was as if some god had got out his paintbrush and gone wild with teh colours. Not to mention the markings.
There were no spots, but stripes. However, Uri figured from the build it was a leopard and so, was cautious in going down to the water.

Ba'kru took a good mouthful before climbing the tree. He needed some rest. Though the day was young, he was exhuasted with today. Maybe it was not a good idea to leave the jungle. He sprawled up above and finally swallowed the water and sighed out. This place was hot where as the jungle was cool and damp. But the water here was nice. A sudden scent made his head turn when he spotted something coming at him. He narrowed his eyes and saw that it was another cheetah that was coming at him. Strange, cheetahs seem to be everywhere today. Or was it just his luck?
Rolling over, he looked down and watched the other one come near. He knew that he could see him and he knew that he saw him. His walk seemed.... irregular as if he was crouched down or something. Was he being cautious? Was he hunting? Was he being hunted? Well, he best be careful, this leopard isn't wanting trouble but he will give it if trouble is due. Ba'kru carefuly rose up and climbed up higher into the branches of the acacia.

When the leopard climbed higher, Uri straightened himself for the final few metres of walking to the wateredge. It was a proud, casual gait. All teh better to show of his lean but not too lean figure. He was clearly well fed, well groomed and just a little bit in love with himself - if you went by looks.
With the leopard that far up teh tree, surely he could dash off long before it got to the ground. Besides, it didn't look too dangerous. Tired if anything. And the blue did nothing for it's camoflague.
After a few laps of cool water, he raised his - handsome, handsome - head and looked up at it. Curiousity killed the cat, you know, but as he'd already worked out...no way he wouldn't be able to run away in time if the leopard sprang down.
"Excuse me, but you are a leopard, aren't you?"

"Yeah and if you excuse me, but are you a cheetah, Spots?"
He replied up in the leaves. The leaves that he was in were nice and somewhat comfy. He moved them around so tha tthey formed a makeshift bed as he rested back down on them. They parted slightly where he could see the other male below him. That was strange, he looked quite fit as was he, well as far as a tree climber went, so why did he act so strange before?
"What's your name, Spots?"
He called back down below. He was becoming curious of this other feline. What was up with him? Cheetahs just ran, right? Did they stop long or something? The one he knew always ran around the jungle, it just kept on running. How about this one? He kept a close eye on this cheetah from his safety in the tree.

Uri sat down, when he was sure the other male had made himself comfy. Seemingly he was uninterested in eating the smaller cat. Hmph. Though why he should talk to someone who called him Spots...
"My name is Uri, Stripes. And yours?"

"Ba'kru."
He replied from the tree. He looked down with bright blue eyes and grinned. He was a cheetah, a fast one most likely. He didn't seem to find it dangerous to be under a tree with a leopard in it. That just gave him more reason to just pounce down on him and end it quickly so having his name was rather pointless. However, he was not hungry and after that little run, he was tired.
"So, Spots, what are you doing here anyways?"
Sweet to females and jerks to males.

"Thick as your strips, Stripes? I'm getting a drink."
Pale brown eyes met his and he grinned. Be rude to me, and I'll be rude to you back. Uri had told him his name and tried to be reasonably polite. He'd just been curious because what kind of weirdo leopard was blue and striped anyway?

"Well, you could have just been passing by here....."
the leopard was restless up in the tree, moving the leaves and branches all over to try to make a comfortable nest in the tree. So many ways of putting them together and nothing worked.... so borhtersome. Ba'kru growled to himself and swiped his paw throwing leaves, twigs, and branches out of the tree, frustrated.
"Is there any damn place here that is a good place to live?!"
Ba'kru shouted as he jumped dwow from the tree, huffing and flicking his tail.
"Hey Spots, know any?"

"Temper temper." The shout caused Uri to flick back his ears briefly.
As he'd moved to get down, Uri had casually trotted back towards the water a ways, as if he was considering another drink. Nothing in his matter showed the presence of the larger cat worried him. It was only out of instinct he moved away.
"Yes Stripes, I know many. But you'll probably want to head north to the jungles. It'd suit you better, as a leopard." And the dark of the trees will hid your blue. Out here even grey can be an alert in the golden grasslands to prey, the cheetah thought.

"Hell no! I am not going back there! When you've been denied of love from your very own species, you'll know why."
He growled and moved closer to the tree. The only thing that he still had from his home was his habits of sleeping in trees and hunting from them. He had tried to love but the females that he loved denied him. He lost count how many times he was turned away and his faith in the leopardesses were gone.
Ba'kru scoffed and looked around. Where's Freya....

"Ha, tell me about it."
It was bitter laughter that came in response to that. Uri only acted so stuck up most of the time because he knew that if he didn't love himself, no one would. He'd been a freak in the area he was born, where all cheetahs were golden and black-spotted...and here he was practically an outcast, no matter how nice he'd been.
"Then maybe you'll have better luck around here."

he paused. Wait... Uri here had spots.... crap. Quickly he snapped around and glared at him.
"Don't get any ideas, Spots, you know what I mean. I am attracted to cheetahs."
Wait.... Uri here is a a cheetah..... crap. He growled at him and his hackles raised.
"Don't get any ideas either."
