Apparently, the Federali now controls the policing of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, border town to Laredo Texas... the real police department has been active in 45 kidnappings, and all the trouble is linked to drugs. The war wages, and the effects of the 'losing' end of the drug war are seen up into Texas, Houston being a big stop. Here is what I see: America wages a war in herself, trying to keep the illegal use of drugs down. But America's resources *can't* in all practicality wage the war on drugs for other countries as well... we are running out of resources and as seen already, and it was seen before this latest incident-- obviously something is not working.
I think there is a fundamental mentality that is faulty, that of not only keeping America's hands clean, but because others could come and dirty her, trying to clean them. The idea of America acting like a world police is everywhere, but its IN most every decision we make, and its kind of a losing battle.
What feasible way could American politicians change this though? becoming isolationist is probably not the most economical, if not the most safe route. It all seems like instead of taking classes on politics, we should learn how to play chess, and play it well. what do you think?
