Green mist swirled around white paws as they struck through the black dust. Silver eyes were tinted almost red with the fire that was burning deep within him. It was only a step from the actual truth, it was only two steps from what lay hidden beneath him.

On the outside; silver, wind, light itself. On the inside; black, fire, darkness.

It was an everyworking battle, but it wasn't the good side that was battling anymore. It was the darkness that was boiling itself up to keep the control, the darkness that was using it's claws to sink into the mind of the other and keep it, vice-like, in it's control.

"One of these days cub, you'll accept that I'm here." Okoth said as his body froze from Akiiki's cries within him. The cub wasn't happy to have Okoth within him, even less happy that the a*****e had taken him over.

Akiiki pleaded, his voice rising with his anger and his silver eyes flashing angrily at Okoth's black body.

The world swirled around the two of them as Okoth looked inward at the caged cub. His rose colored eyes flashed and a grin appeared on his black muzzle as he looked back out Akiiki's eyes again and focused on where he was going.

Akiiki bellowed, though none would hear him.

All they saw was Akiiki's body walking through the graveyard, violet tail swishing from side to side, kicking up black dust to swirl around the green tinged mist.

Nerissa was on the prowl. The mini-huntress was crouched on the ground, tongue protruding slightly from her mouth, lilac-striped rear end in the air, silver-grey striped tail waving to its own beat, as she slunk forward, heedless of the dirt of the graveyard floor that covered her pale fur. Her bright red eyes were narrowed on her even smaller prey, and her little claws scratched the ground as she stopped and prepared to pounce.

Taking a deep breath, she made the leap, and the beetle she'd been hunting scuttled out of her reach beneath a rock.

Cursing far more fluently than she really should have been able to at her age - never let daddy hear her say anything of that sort, though - she sat down on her rump in an unladylike manner, more flopping dispiritedly than sitting, glancing around with a sigh. Another day with nothing of much interest to do.

Silver eyes flashing at the sight of his princess and her failed attempts at hunting, Okoth grinned wickedly and slunk forward. His large body laid out on a skull far above her and he watched her closely. So this was the future of their pride's lands? It was hardly a future at all if he was anyone to speak of it. In fact it made Okoth laugh at the sight of it.

The laughter rang effortlessly through the graveyard, echoing off of skulls and making him appear everywhere at once, and yet nowhere at all. One could pick up skills after living in the graveyard for quite this long. Okoth was no exception to any rule, his silvery eyes and ghostly body made him hard to find and his actual age gave him wisdom that the host resting beneath the mask in his mind didn't have.

"So I see how well set our future is. I pity the next generation if their princess is one of such unskilled and unlady-like mannerisms." Okoth said in his deep voice, eyes on the cub below him. She was the one that babied her only brother all the time, making him much softer than he should have been. It was a disgrace and a pity, a future hunter crushed beneath kind words and overprotection.

Nerissa tensed slightly, bug forgotten, as she heard that echoing laughter. She might have been a little nervous, maybe even a touch frightened, but she wasn't terrified. Never terrified. Naturally she had more bravery than many her age could boast, but she was used to being a defender. If she defended others, she could defend herself. It probably wasn't smart to think that way; after all, who didn't know there were hyenas in the graveyard?

She saw the newcomer, though, and her red eyes narrowed on him as she bristled at his words. Obviously this male thought to rile her up, and though there was a nasty retort sitting on the tip of her tongue just waiting to be lashed at him, she forced it back - for now. She wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of seeing just how irritated his words made her. Sure, she would not be the one to take the throne of the Maziko unless something happened to her brother Lysander, gods forbid, but she still had a duty to her people that she would fulfil. Just because this fool had seen her in a moment of play didn't mean she was irresponsible. She was probably the most level-headed of all her siblings, in fact.

"You obviously know who I am," she said in reply, keeping her voice even. "Who are you?"
