Alright, here's what you do: Don't listen to your friend. You'll never get a trem in tune that way. Get all the strings in tune without locking. Just use the headstock machines to tune initially. Then lock the nut and tune the guitar with the fine tuners.
One note, tune the thing with the fine tuners in a "neutral" position. Make sure that they have room to go up and down.

Spade Sanosuke MAKQ what kind of floyd is it ??? It's not a floyd. Ibanez makes their own tremolos. its LICENCED FLOYD, yes they make there own but they use the floyd design with slight modifications. so yes you do have a floyd. check the bridge, it should say licenced under floyd rose patents or something similar to that

do you have a floating ttrmelo or a set tremelo
because if you have a floating system most of this advice could be bogus [i havent read through it all yet]
if this is happeneing just after you break a string and your bridge is floating it will continously fall back dont lock the machine heads or whatever until you tune at the top, like i said if you have just changed a string you will have to keep tuning for a while and then some because it will keep going flat, after it stays in tune lock it and fine tune the sucker and you'll be all good
if your bridge is blocked i have no idea

Most floyds are really different from each other in little ways .

ok heres what you do.
tune al the strings till all of them are in tune, make sure the fine tuners are set half way before doing so, then when all the strings are tuned you lock the nut. depending on the agle of the strings you might have to make slight adjustments on the fine tuners and then your set for a while
