Rules of RPing
1. Read the first, or first few (depending on how it is set up), post. Here is where you will find the rules, how they want you to set up your profile, the setting, ect. Some moderators will go very in depth with this, some will keep it vague.
2. Depending on if your moderater has set aside rules or not for out of context speeking you will use one of two methods.
~use OOC: [example: OOC: wow this is fun]
~Use double parentasies: [example: ((wow, this is fun!))
~Use double parentasies: [example: ((wow, this is fun!))
3. Always follow both Gaiaonlines rules and the moderators rules.
Ways to write
1.You could use a first person narrative.
example: I walked down the stairs and saw sarah standing there, "what are you doing?" I called into the deep abyss surrounding me. She turned, her green eyes deep in thought, red hair swirling around her face. My heart jumped, I was in love.
2.You could use third person narrative. The first two are most preffered by moderators.
Example: James walked down the stairs, his shoes echoed into the dark house. Standing not far from the landing stood a girl with shocking red hair and deep green eyes. The boy called out "What are you doing here?" the girl turned, and her face broke into a smile, and the boy's eyes lit up. He was in love.
3. Another type that I have come across that I find lazy, but effective is speeking in stars.
example: *I walk down the stairs, Sarah is standing there* "what are you doing here. *runs up to the girl*
Tips
* Try to be descriptive, it makes it more fun for everyone reading your posts, adds a bit of excitement.
*If you have a perticulare item of clothing, car, house, ect that you want your character to possess then post a link to the image.
Example: Sarah was wearing a dark shirt.
*If you are in multiple long running RPGs then keep your character slightly the same *such as same name and appearence*, or make character profiles in you gaia journal. this helps!
