Greetings to all paranormal, supernatural, or otherwise "normal" beings.

I have been on a personal quest to research all I can about the world of magic, the power of the mind, the supernatural; in all, everything this guild has. It has soon come to my attention that if I wish to know more, the best way would be to be a part of the world myself.

Only thing is, the idea makes me completly nervous. sweatdrop It's like a death of what I took for granted for something... Completly new. I want to learn to manipulate energies, I want to improve my telepathic sense, I want to dabble in the world of once "Imaginary" creatures... But I am unsure of how to take on such a grand task. I do not know where to start, what to look for or learn.

I have bought myself a book on Wicca before and occasionally read through it. I have tried a few spells with many succcessful results, but for one reason or another I have stopped. (though occasionally I can't help but recite some incantations for good luck, or slowing down/speeding up time without knowing it wink ) Many things have happened since then, I live in a town of ghost, witches, and my own mother is a spiritual healer herself.

I was just hoping, that maybe you guys could either give me support, tips and tricks, warnings or even advice. Thank you.

Things will come naturally only when you're ready for it. That is my first bit of advice to you. No matter what stage you are of learning about this, that tidbit seems to be a recurring bit of welcome advice. So when you seem to get "stuck" or things begin to overwhelm you, keep that in mind and take a break. A wise person taught me to go get some ice cream. It's simple, it's mundane, it is solid, and you will feel much better after you're done.
Follow your nose, but always look where you are going. You never know when you'll find yourself in a bad place or step in poo.
Verify your findings, but do not discard your first impression. There is a reason that we all feel what we do, and to continually disregard that will lead to just as many mistakes as to blindly follow simple thought forms.
Get some good, solid hiking gear. A backpack, a water bottle, a notebook, pen, a solid, sturdy walking stick, some durable jeans and comfortable, yet discardable hiking shoes.
Follow none but yourself. No one person can teach you the things only you can learn for yourself.

Lila, who's opinions and advice I would like second, has givin you the most valid advice one could dwell on. if only to enhance what she said. you may discover yourself, and power beyond reckoning, the key to understanding anything is to first analyze it. study it until you can summon up the knowledge att he the drop of a hat and then you can link it to whats next. and so on and so on.

in either case there are wise and insightful people here to help point and talk to. still it would be up to you to accept the information and decide which or whos methods works best or if you come up with your own. just keep at it you'll find a talent eventually.

The problem with testing your own abilities is first of all, finding that trigger that makes better perception possible. For example, I understand the world around me better when I am tired and enter a near alpha state. Others have told me that I seem to be smarter when I'm tired: this is not so. When my brain enters an alpha-like state (such as when sleep-deprived, chemically altered or unbalanced, meditating, or deeply relaxed), I no longer am bound by my typical linear way of thinking. The world around me unfolds and connects in ways I was not willing and/or able to comprehend in a fully alert state of mind.
My ability of supernatural perception is amplified greatly between the 48-72 hour mark of little to no sleep (to me, defined by lack of a restful sleep or entering REM state). After a certain point, however, my mind resumes its linear thinking and exhaustion sets in. Around the point where I either need to sleep or else hallucinate because of the buildup of chemicals in the brain (relieved by a deep sleep reaching REM state), I can no longer connect the dots even to the point of being fully alert.

alot of big words in which I cannot keep up with at this point. >.< I've had that too usually when sleep deprived and considering sleep, settling in. also when tired to the point of dizzyness the sensation of floating when laying down seems to feel like it boost my perceptions.

something fun to try is to make yourself hallucinate. to be able to conjure that which is real kinda helps to see past that which is. if that doesn't make sense the personality which stated it, has left the building.
