He was still in disbelief. If Kat hadn't been at his side right then as they walked, Ai taking care to walk on the more dangerous edge of the path so she wouldn't get frightened by the height again, he would have been smacking his face to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Every way he could think about it, however, it was the same.
He wasn't sleeping, and he still had the most beautiful lioness he'd ever met at his side.
Ai purred a bit, leaning ever so slightly against Kat's side and bumping his head lightly against hers in an affectionate manner.
There was a burning feeling in his chest, almost like his heart had exploded all over his insides, but it was such a wonderful feeling.
He didn't want it to go away.

Kat purred and curled herself around him somewhat, as if she was trying to shield him away from everything else, everyone else, she felt a bit selfish, wanting to keep Ai all for herself. But she cared for him deeply, didn't want to wake up from this dream, this fantasy that had become real.
She wondered what her sister would say if she saw her now.
"Its getting dark..." she said softly, hating to break the silence that was perfect on its own, "I don't think we want to get stranded here...risk falling off the edge in the dark, do you?" she asked with a playful smile upon her maw, pulling back a bit to head but him gently.

He didn't mind at all being hoarded all to herself, his tail wrapping around her body a bit as he took care to keep her close. The dark male looked up at the sky as she made a comment of how dark it was getting.
And while he could have made a rather mushy and corny comment in the space, Ai voted against it, instead simply frowning a bit.
"This is true. Moreso in my case." he added, knowing quite well his dark fur would easily get lost in the dark. And the last thing he needed was for Kat to lose him to the darkness of night.
He leaned into the headbutt, before rising to his paws, stretching a bit.
"We should start heading back." he suggested, though technically it HAD been her idea to begin with. Either way, though, it was a good idea, unless they wanted to be stranded all night.

Kat smiled, though she really wouldn't mind being stranded with Ai somewhere, she'd rather have it be somewhere level, on the ground...not so high up. Standing up and stretching Kat made sure not to get too close to the edge, so she quickly scooched next to Ai, wanting to walk next to him if possible, for she felt if she walked alone near the edge, she might fall.
She hated the idea of falling...
Unless of course, it was for him...

Which was why Ai walked along the edge of the pathway, to take care that Kat wouldn't fall. It wasn't that he was more confident that he wouldn't fall, or that he would be less injured if he did (yeah right, he'd go splat either way.. ), He simply wanted to keep Kat out of harm's way.
"Seems like we spent all day up there, didn't we?" Ai commented as the pair walked down the path to return to 'level' ground, or moreso, closer to level ground. Anywhere lower than where they currently were was safer than the top of the pridal rock.
"So what are we going to do tomorrow?" he inquired, wondering if they'd just lounge around inside for the day, or if they'd hunt down Kami, or even if they'd run off and introduce her to his family-unit.
So many options.

"Yea, seems so," she was speaking quietly, so soft that perhaps she believed if she spoke too loud everything would shatter and fall to the ground. She stepped rather carefully along, the sooner they were down to level ground, the better. Everything was swirling in her head, everything good, nothing bad, how could anything be bad now?
"Anything...we can do anything..." she said simply, peering up at him with her smile, a smile just for him. She felt like they could do anything, she felt excited and hot all at the same time. She felt like she was going to get carried away if she didn't find a way to calm herself.

But everything was so quiet already, her voice peirced the silence like a beautiful song to him. Even Angels must have been pausing in their daily activities to listen to the sound of Kat's voice.
That might have just been him, though. He would've beaten any Angel who boasted themselves to be anything greater than the lioness at his side. To do so at that moment probably would've sent him tumbling, but that wasn't his concern right then anyways.
"Anything?" he repeated, seeming to think about it for a minute, before he laughed a bit.
"We'll see what happens, then." he decided, nuzzling the side of her head affectionately.
The pair finally walked out onto the more stable 'base' of the rocky structure, even though they weren't at the bottom entirely just yet. It soothed Ai's nerves a bit to be down from the height, though.

Kat was relieved when they got down lower, her muscles relaxed more, her shoulders weren't as tense. She was glad to be on more 'stable' low ground then the higher up places, though up there, that was quite nice, and was now a special spot to her. "Yes, we'll see."
Kat peered up at him and smirked, nudged his shoulder very lightly, winked at him and took a few steps in front of him, then stopped, flicked her tail and smirked, "I'll race you back..."
Why was she eager to get back so soon?

(( *GASP!* D8 *SPRAYS HER DOWN* DOWN KAT, DOOOOWWWN! ))
That was about what Ai was thinking, his expression going extremely puzzled at her change in behavior, but he bumped his shoulder back against hers. "Oh? Well then, I accept your challenge." he purred back, grinning.
He'd wait for a moment until she started off first to chase after her though.
It was only fair to give her a head-start due to injury, and that he would've felt bad if he tried all-out to race her and won.
It was almost funny he felt that way, though. ALMOST.

Kat smiled and flicked her tail, smirked at him and took a couple side steps, as if trying to provoke him into agreeing to race her, even though he already had accepted the challenge. Her hazel eyes set on him, and they were focused on him entirely. She smiled then turned and began to run/half limp towards the 'hiding place den.'
Her limp was practically gone, she was glad too, she figured it would ache now and then, perhaps she'd be lucky enough to find a NICE immortal, that might heal ehr instead of beat her up. Yes, that'd be nice. She peered over her shoulder now and then to see how far back Ai was.
She figured it wouldn't take him long to catch up.
She'd have to scramble to get inside before he would.

This is the part where Ai got sneaky, walking over to the edge of the pridal rock and looking down at the rock that held it up, grinning. Oh yes, he was plotting.
"GERANIMO!!" he yelled, leaping from the tip of the rock to slide down the slightly-inclined OTHER rock. Unfortunately, this burnt the bottoms of his paws the ENTIRE way down, and before hitting the ground, he was forced to jump from it and go tumbling, ungracefully might we add, through the grass.
Ai's profanities could be heard as he rolled, though camoflodged, through the grass, before his swearing could be heard again. "OOOOOOOW!" he yelled, before setting on nursing at his poor little hurt paws, licking at the sore and, in some places, lack of skin where he was bleeding.
That was one way to prove he was an idiot.
So now Ai's list of things to teach his children consisted of:
1. Don't walk too close to a hormonal anything unless they're related
2. Don't ignore what a hunter teaches you, you'll get hurt
3. Do help up lionesses who happen to be lingering around the boundaries of the land, even though you shouldn't be there
and
4. Don't try to slide down that #*!()@*ing rock. It hurts.
Everything else they'd have to learn for themselves.

Kat stopped as she heard Ai yell something, then she saw him skid down a rock, she stopped, and her mouth fell open, her mind was racing, Oh my god he's going to kill himself! WhatdoIdowhatdoIdo? She was panicking on the inside, and looked around frantically to see what she could do to help.
Too late.
Ai hit the ground and she felt like she had just been clawed in her stomach. SHe ran after him, heard him yell and say angry things, when he stopped she practically ran into him. But she skid to a halt, crouched down and crawled towards him looking at his poor paws.
They looked like they hurt so bad.
"How're you going to walk...Ai...does it hurt a lot?" Kat took one of his forelegs and held it up, looked at his paw and frowned, this was her fault. She gave a soft lick to the bottom of his paw, she had to at least help clean them up.

Ai seemed to realize, being the 'smart' boy he was, he'd gotten a reaction from Kat and winced, attempting to shrink into the grass so he could play 'butch' and take care of the problem himself. However, he was BLACK,the grass.. was very NOT.
"I'm okay.." he insisted, continuing to nurse at his paws, and wincing a bit when she moved one of his legs, pondering if he'd broken it or something of that sort. Ai would hope not. He'd hate to have broken his leg over something stupid. As for walking....
"They'll just scab over a bit, and I'll be fine after that.. " he insisted, sneaking a lick on the tip of her nose when she was checking out his paw, smiling in a sort of 'hee hee, I got you' way, then playing innocent and resuming his interest in his paw.
Doom dee doom.
Ai is just a stupid boy, not an evilly plotting male who is just using the scenerio to a flirting advantage... DOO DEE DOO.

"You sure?" Kat scooched around him, flicked her tail every now and then and peered at his paws. They looked horrible, she hoped he hadn't hurt his legs or anything, then what would they do for food? Well, she could try to hunt again, she didn't need Ai to go for a hunt and not be able to run quite as fast as he would wish. She didn't need him getting more hurt by exerting himself too much for hunting...
When she felt him lick her nose she peered up at him and her smile twisted into a smirk.So you want to play THAT way huh? She smirked, circled around him and went in front of him again. She sat down, gave a strange smile and then pushed her paws on his chest and pushed back just enough so he fell on his back.
She kept her paws on his shoulders and just held him there, she was just looming over him now, and she was grinning. "You sure you'll alright?" she asked in a purr.
Was it getting hot out here? Or was it just her?

Something at the veeeeeery back of Ai's mind shut off as Kat asserted her, unexpected, dominance. In fact, just how shut off his brain was showed clearly on his face. ".... Uhhuhuhuh......".. Whether he was laughing nervously or if he was answering her question was up for debate.
Afterall, Ai wasn't exactly the =king= of reactions. At least not the kind one would have LIKED to have.
Brain function was -SO- dead.
"If I say 'no', does something weird happen?" He finally asked after seeming to stumble for the proper response.
Then again, by 'weird' he meant 'Something that's gonna come back and bite me in the butt in some way or another' of course..
