Pride is not the opposite of shame, but rather the sorce of it --Iroh

Rachel came from a long line of warriors. Vikings, knights, martial artists, soldiers; all their blood ran through her veins. She was strong, tough as nails, and fought like a hellhound. But more than anything, the most vital of a warrior's virtues, she was brave. She risked her neck for those in danger; all who laid eyes upon her knew she feared nothing.

Of course, once upon a time, people knew the earth was flat.

Bound by her sense of honor and pride, Rachel could never admit her fear. She defied the stereotype that women were weaker than men, showed over and over again a woman did not need a man for protection. Yet, her anxiety forever knawed at her mind. What if, what if, what if.....

Mentaly, she was unstable. She wasn't stupid, but she was plauged by a complex. Rachel never thought she was good enough, she always pushed harder and harder, trying to prove more to herself than others, that she would never be weak.

The more she worried, the more weakness she felt. It was driving her mad! She couldn't take it! What was this feeling? The feeling of helplessness she got when she measured herself up against her ansestors? Part of her knew..... but fear was weakness. Rachel could never admit, least of all to herself, that she was afraid.

In the darkest reaches of her consiousness, something was slowly breaking free.
