Old Andy is at it again. At 'You're the One that I want' ALW announced to the audience that he's thinking of making a sequel to the POTO musical.
I'm kind of torn between "Okay...." and "What? HOMG NO WAIII!". gonk
I just hope that he's kidding. If he isn't, well, let's hope it not's based on 'Phantom of Manhattan'.
Will post link soon!

I'm in that weird place too. I think the idea is interesting...but potentially toxic. I'm intrigued, yet horrified to a slight degree. PLEASE NOT TPOM! Unless its Meg/Erik centric...I really don't care. Yet.

OMG! He's serious?! And based on Phantom of Manhatton? Man, talk about ego. Just because the book was based on his musical (not sure about this though), he decides to make an actual sequal gonk
It's actually ironic that I told my friends that there never be a sequal to PotO, cause it's too fantastic to have a sequal, yet here it is. ALW needs a life!
If it ever comes out, the only reason I'll see it is for curiosity sake, nothing else.

Yeah...the book was based on the musical. He actually was going to make the sequel 10 years ago but Phans convinced him not to.
I was hoping that ALW had Alzheimers and meant the whole thing to be an April Fools joke. But I guess not.
I don't think I'd watch it either. sweatdrop

My god. Based on PoM? If he was going to make a sequel, I was going to hope it was based on Kay's book or he'd atleast create something more.. intelligent? Maybe it'll be a dud like the Lord of the Rings thing, I heard that didn't do too well.. -_- and I just came back from watching it in Toronto.

Jesus Christ, people, can we not keep this to ONE thread?
There are THREE, last I counted, on the main page. This is getting quite out of hand, considering that nothing new is ever really said about the event that hasn't already been said in the original thread or the subsequent two.
For the love of god, at least make an attempt to keep the forums neat. It reduces confusion between threads and it makes the lives of the guild members a hell of a lot easier.

This thread was made at least 2 weeks earlier than the other threads and it's in the subforum that discusses the musical.
So, I really don't see the problem. ^__^

I apologize, I did not notice the date. This one just seemed to pop up on my screen yesterday, while I'd been seeing the other ones buzzing with activity for a while.
My mistake.

Why would he ruin it..again. He completely futsed the musical when it was made into a movie. The singing was pathetic. He made the damn musical for Sarah Brightman for crying out loud. Only someone at that level should be allowed to sing the part of Christine. Emily would have been fine for playing meg or just a shemp. She lacked the voice and the support systems for the voice. That and she kept changing her accent throughout the movie. Don't even get me started on Gerry.

Just think of this: better Emmy than Katie Holmes. Blechh. lol. No one here seems to like Gerry. I remember some of the musical 'phans' calling him a tone-deaf monkey. But hey! Some people need to make a dollar or two. emo
