Smallville has to one of the WORST shows I've ever seen. The characters are annoying, the plot is juvenile and repetitive, the graphics are terrible, and the writing is laughably corny and bad. So I ask all of you, WHY do you like it? I'm not flaming or bashing or being rude. I'm just really curious as to how any semi-sane person could stand to watch this show.

Well, I do agree that sometimes the writing is bad and the plot can be a bit "lame," but all in all, I really enjoy this show because it is interesting and most of the characters are lovable or entertaining. Lois and Chloe have to be two of the most entertaining, hilarious, and enjoyable characters on television to watch. Clark Kent is an incredible character because he sticks to his values no matter what situation he gets himself into. Other characters are note worthy as well. I just can't go through the whole list right now.
I will agree that some characters tend to be badly developed or have something lacking. For the longest time, Lana Lang's character didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. She got to do a lot of things and get into a lot of situations that I thought her personal ability wouldn't have let her get into. For instance, School of the Arts? In Paris? With what artistic ability did she get in? The show has yet to tell us. Her return and her living situation above the Talon made no sense either because with what money was she renting that apartment? But I believe that, as of this point in the show, I understand more of why she does what she does. Her character makes more sense now.
But anyways, over all, this show is incredibly entertaining and has noteworthy characters to carry the storyline.

I find it entertaining...There a certainly shows that are better but still. I like Chloe, Lois, and Lana...It's just fun to watch. What shows do you watch Mrs. I hate smallville and wish it died.

well you have a right to your opinion...but i cant believe you have the nerve to come into a guild of SMALLVILLE FANATICS AND DISS US!!! scream did you join the guild just to flame us? evil you're messing with the wrong group of homies wahmbulance
the characters are annoying...? how so? every show has characters with faults...you want to watch something that's set in an utopia? rolleyes lmao, that would be the most BORING show in the world stare there is no show without problems...
plot being juvenile? yes sometimes the events are quite predicctable and sometimes repetitive sweatdrop but the so called "juvenile" plot ties together dangling strings during the season finales stare its called a series for a reason...
graphics being bad? well they do the best they can because there is a budjet....this isnt a movie, its a tv show....

And who the hell says "Hommies" anymore, especially at your age? xd The characters are really Mary/Gary Sueish and unrealistic and any flaws that they have are ridiculously romantizied. Any problems or flaws in a character/on the show should be written in and very carefully and intelligently executed. I'm pretty sure the characters on Smallville aren't written to be annoying and boring. A show shouldn't tie everything together in a finale, that shows bad writing. If nothing makes sense until the finale, I'm going to be confused and bored out of my mind for the entire season. Just because it's a show doesn't mean the graphics should be bad. And how do you know they try their best? They could just be doing a crappy job on purpose. Grey's Anatomy is a corny, cheesy show, but that doesn't mean it's a poorly written, repetitive soap opera. It's very wittly and intelligently written, and still manages to pile on the cheese and corn. wink I watch CSI and House. For humour, I watch The Simpsons, South Park, and Family guy. biggrin

Smallville is a kiddie soap opera...for 12 and 13 year olds at the most. I don't know how, at your age, that a hot guy with superpowers is enough to make you obsessed with a show. Like I said before, I shouldn't have to be confused until a finale clarifies everything. That's just plain irritating. FYI, CSI is the highest rated show in Canada and House is this year's most watched medical drama. Can you say the same for Smallville? talk2hand I'm 15 years old. 16 in August.

But I also don't think it's very classy to tell people that their tastes are unsophisticated. Or "really... sad". portofships And Lois Lane's character really isn't any more entertaining than any of the others. She is to me, enough of the time to keep me watching.

For humour, I watch The Simpsons, South Park, and Family guy. biggrin homie, groupie,junkie, a tight knit bunch of individuals...those words all mean the same thing talk2hand i use the word homie, and i know a lot of other people who do too.... and I like soap operas too...got a problem with it? mad have you looked around this guild? do you see how many topics there are about the so called "sucky" smallville? and have you ever visited kryptonsite? obviously the opinion of one person, like you, doesnt matter to the immense amount of people that watch it.... smallville may not be as recognized as csi or house but it is still an amazing show wow you're so old rolleyes the captains of this guild are in their 20's....and zach and I are the youngest ones here.... there are no 12-13 year olds here stare psh...i dont have skills like chloe or lana , and being one of the younger ones, my comebacks arent as good as the older fans.... wait till they get here..... whatever....i dont need to waste my time arguing with a blonde who's totally full of herself.....

Let's see here. I am 16, the other moderator in the guild has a baby meaning she is in her 20s, and the OWNER is 24 as well. There are also a lot of people here who are in college. There are a lot of people who like the show and just because you don't doesn't change the fact that millions of people like and enjoy the show.
Frankly, I don't think we have to prove to you why Smallville is good or why we like it. I mean nothing we say will change your view on it so why bother. And I don't care if you think that I can't come up with anything to say. I just don't care enough to answer.
Now, if you are done whining, you have the liberty to leave, but if you do stay, be sure that whatever you say is constructive or other actions will be considered.
