To help people get the hang of this, I'll make a post about how to boss battle.

Endymia approached the entrance of the temple housing the spirit, Sann. Her form disappeared into the shadows of the temple. If she had been alive, there would be the sound of her footsteps echoing back to her as she ascended the stairs. Finally she entered the top floor, the chamber where Sann slept.
Though no window or air duct could be seen, the room swirled with wind, intensifying as Sann awoke. The spirit of wind rose from her shrine, crossing her arms over chest. "I shall test you," the spirit said. "If you can defeat me, I will bless you with my strength."
Endymia gave a nod of acknowledgement, and raised her hand to strike the first blow to the spirit.

I rolled an 8. With the item I have equipped on Enymia, that would make my roll a 13. I was beaten down! This is how you continue on after being struck down.

Her blow was uneffective to the Wind spirit, and Endymia stumbled back to recover. The spirit lunged at her, lashing at her with a blade of wind. Endymia crossed her arms over her chest to protect herself, moving to the side to avoid more damage from the wind blade. As Sann turned to face her, Endymia summoned forth her weapon she had used in life - the Fang of Ragnarok, a legendary glaive made from the fangs of Garm and Fenrir. Endymia spun the blade towards Sann...

Ohh, fiddlesticks! I was thwarted again! But I must keep trying, right? Its always okay to withdraw from a battle and come back later, too. You can also "party up" with somebody, and they will post to help you and their generated number will add to yours!

The blow knicked Sann, but Sann the wind spirit was indeed fast, and dodged most of the attack. The winds in the chamber began to howl, pushing Endymia back into the wall. Using the Ragnarok Fang, Endymia pushed forward, slicing through the winds, once more slashing at Sann.

Sometimes it takes a while. Boss battles are much easier when you have somebody partying you. ;3

Gritting her teeth, Endymia twirled the pole-arm above her head, before slamming it into the floor. The chamber began to shake. "I ... Will have your power, Guardian of the wind, Sann!" Ghostly images began to emanate from the spear, taking the form of two wolves. A luminous glow formed around Sann, and the two ghostly illusions leapt at the spirit, repeatively attacking her from all sides.

Sann was injured badly, but not defeated. However, Endymia's attack was not yet over yet. Taking the ocarina from her sash, she blew three notes into it to call her familiar, Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse. The giant steed formed in spirit-form, and charged forward, knocking hard into Sann, pummeling the spirit to the ground.

Yes! Down you go! When you get a victory, you have to post your victory, too. To claim your prize, post a link to your post in the Winner's Circle sticky.

Sann was defeated by Endymia's special attack. She raised her arm, signalling to stop. "I am impressed. I will grant you my power, the power of wind! Take it and become stronger." The guardian spirit blessed Endymia with the symbol of wind, and gave a nod of approval, fading back into her shrine. The howling winds died down to small breezes, and Endymia left the chambers, victorious.

Squall and Lytharien VS Sann
Their journey into the town of Prival had brought them to the wind spirit's temple. 'Heaven's Eye'; the townsfolk had mentioned and in truth, it was not far off the mark. Stepping into the temple's entrance Lytharien whistled "This place is amazing. Look at these structures. Brilliant! ... but I guessed that doesn't interest you does it Squall?"
Squall shrugged. Large or small, impressive or dull , it did not really matter. All that mattered was that they were supposed to complete what they have set out to do.
A slow and steady gust began to blow around the temple's shrine and as the two of them watched, the figure of Sann, the wind spirit appeared. "Fight me and if I deem you worthy, you shall have my blessings," the spirit said giving her opponents a nod indicating that they should begin their match.
"I'll start first okay?" Lytharien asked looking over his shoulder to Squall as he took an arrow out of his quiver. "Don't fall behind though,"
"Whatever...," his companion muttered holding his gunblade in his hand and bracing himself for the attack.

"Huh?" Lytharien exclaimed as he leapt backwards narrowly avoiding a gust of strong wind sent by the spirit. "How....?"
"My turn," said Squall making a dash at the spirit. Leaping high the mercenary made a slash with his weapon.

"You have won," the spirit said as Squall landed deftly onto the ground. "I am impressed. You shall have my blessings,"
The winds surrounding the inner temple ceased to blow as the spirit once again returned to its slumber. Lytharien meanwhile was trying his best not to gape at his silent companion. "You impressed her with one stroke?! What the h*ll?"
Squall merely shrugged. " I get the Wind Symbol this time,"
"That would be fair I guess...," Lytharien sullenly agreed. "But you can bet on your many belts that I shall return and victory shall me in my hands the next time around!"
Winner: Squall

It was after a wearying battle of wills between Caden and anti-Caden when the latter one broke free, and sought refuge in a temple rising above a distant horizon. At his arrival, anti-Caden was greeted with the comfort of an almost-ghostly silence. At that, his guard came tumbling down, and the heartless version of the fog-spirit, Caden, crumpled onto the dusty stone floor.
Closing his eyes, anti-Caden had only one breath-worth of time before a gust filled the temple, shaking its foundations. His glowing yellow eyes snapped open, and as tired as he was, the heartless was once again ready to face his foe, whomever it may be.
After the ancient dust had settled once again upon the temple, anti-Caden could only see the silhouette of wind spirit, Sann, standing atop the tallest column. The afternoon sun blinded him, as a voice which sounded like a million whispers demanded of him, "Strike, I dare you." Anti-Caden raced towards a shadow larger than himself blindly.

Had he known that the wind spirit possessed the ability to fly, anti-Caden would have done otherwise. His charge towards the highest column -- aiming to knock Sann off balance -- had a reverse effect accompanied by the worst whiplash he had ever felt in his life. Realizing that his Heartless form would grant him no great advantage thus far, anti-Caden resorted to his ability to manipulate dark masses of fog. Vanishing in a black swirl of what seemed like vapor, anti-Caden reapproached the Sann from behind.
