[Setting: Jhovam switched with his dragon, and is horribly disoriented. The plants are different, the sky is different, everything is different. Odd, it didn't look like his first time into the dragon world. Where is he? What is he doing there? Why is he there?]
[Related Thread: Jhovam's Visit to the Dragon Realm]

Jhovam blinked slowly at the ground. The dark-brown dirt was not the same dirt he just fell onto. For a moment, he didn’t grasp what just happened. He remembered the familiar pressure of his friend’s mind, but this time it kept pressing. And pressing. And pressing. Jhovam gripped his head with a tight clasp before feeling a nauseating jolt fly through his body. He rolled off his bed, staring at the pale brown floor as the nausea grew and grew. With one last wave of sickness, and a blast of pain, he found himself looking at this different dirt.

’How odd,’ Jhovam thought to himself. His pain and sickness was fading away, but that was unlike anything he’d ever experienced. Slowly, he rose up from the ground, smoothing out the wrinkles on his rough tan robe. For a moment, he seemed at peace with himself. After all, he ‘just fell’, and he needed to figure out what happened. Maybe he fell out of the window by accident? Who knew? After all –

Jhovam froze as he glanced around the area. This isn’t on the compound. The grass seems rougher, and it has more of a brownish-red hue than his home. The sky was dusty and crimson on the horizon, fading into a gray all the way above his head. A soft breeze flew over the small valley, ruffling the alien foliage and bringing an oddly shrill sound to Jhovam’s now panicking ears. His dark blue eyes opened wide in fright as his jaw unconsiously dropped.

’Oh no . . . where am I?’

(Hey, I have a surprise for you-- this isn't the dragon world! mrgreen I linked a related threads on the first page of this thread, the first time he went to the dragon world)

Jhovam didn't get to see as much of the place as one would have expected. The smooth red scales that appeared very close before his eyes was probably very distracting, and certainly blocked the view. Jhovam heard a hiss, but it wasn't from the slender neck that loomed so close to him. The red youngster was arching his back and moving his neck down-- not at him, though, but at a green youngster hissing at them both.

As the red dragon moved in front of him, Jhovam may have caught a glimpse of a middle-aged woman sleeping in the alien curve of the green dragon's laying body. It seemed to be protecting her, from him or from the spunky red one swinging its head back and forth, trying to look at Jhovam and the other dragon at the same time.

Human! a dragon greeted. It seemed somehow that Jhovam knew it was the red one 'speaking.'

Jhovam's left eye twitched as he saw the draconic figure. His mouth dropped even further, and his eyes opened even wider. If he had any sense, he would have fled from the situation faster than he could say “panic”. But his legs didn’t listen to his screaming mind, and he just stared at the figure.

After (to him) what seemed like an enormously long time, he finally spoke up in a meek, soft voice. “Me?” Hesitantly, he pointed at himself with his left hand. Maybe the dragon didn’t understand common tongue. Pointing might help. Yes . . . that made sense. Pointing might help.

(oh my gosh, that made me laugh xd )

The red dragon screeched, but in Jhovam's head it sounded like laughter. You have broken law! Good for you! he laughed at him. The old one is not here. This is a good time.

The green beast scoffed mentally even as she growled verbally. You will wake the female one with your nonsense and games. She swung her nose like a pointing finger at Jhovam, having to strain to see him over the green one's back. So fragile, she commented to Jhovam, sounding like a private whisper, you too should nap.

Here the weather was on the chilly side, the mountains catching wind from the west. But the sun, lowering itself in the sky now, threw a warm comfort on his back. The place seemed strangely like home for all its alienness.

Jhovam still stood petrified, his left eye continuously twitching chaotically. He glanced between the two dragons, and slowly closed his mouth and lowered his pointing finger. Hesitantly, he asked, “How under the great sun can I understand you?”

Jhovam knew he could hear his own dragon, but that was different. It is like how a master can understand his pet, or how friends could understand each other without words. It was instinctive to him, but Ygrashmak wasn’t anywhere near them at the moment, as far as he could tell. He was cautious of sending out a call to his ally, and instead continued to ask questions.

“Where am I? And what about napping?” Jhovam slowly spoke up, and his left eye’s twitch decreased dramatically. He glanced nervously around him, trying to see any escape route, and then looked back at the dragons. He figured that he couldn’t outrun them. They were much larger, and most likely much faster. He couldn’t even outrun the other slaves.

“And what law did I break?”

((Glad you laughed. ^_^ ))

Oo--oo-hoo-hoo! the red one chuckled excitably. He dropped suddenly into a crouch, rubbing his back up against Jhovam's legs. Ride! No nap! His tail squirmed against the ground impatiently.

Yes, more rules to break, the green one complained as she settled back down. The middle-aged woman was beginning to stir. You woke this one!

It was the red one's turn to scoff. You can keep her. THIS one is mine.

Jhovam appeared to be feeling emotions bred from an unholy union of confusion, fear, and humor. This red lizard thing suddenly acted like a mere dog in front of Jhovam, eager to play or eat or something. And he had no idea who the woman was, or the lizardy things. In fact, he had no idea if he should trust any of them.

“. . . What, under the great sun, are you talking about? What laws did I break? What ride? And why was I going to nap?” Jhovam stepped away from the crimson beast, obviously still cautious and afraid of the creatures. He wasn’t use to seeing dragons upfront; he and Ygrashmak only shifted positions. He never rode on the dragon’s back.

Jhovam eyed the stirring woman again, wondering what she was doing there? Was that viridian lizard hers? Was it the crimson one? Was she kidnapped? ‘What have I gotten myself into?’

Sherel stood akwardly, still in the grips of sleep. "Mhn," she complained when the green dragon nudged her and cooed.

Sleep! the young dragon commanded in a worried tone.

Sherel grumbled and rubbed at her eyes. "You aren't comfortable today," she mumbled before her eyes caught on Jhovam. She gasped and, in her surprise, fell back down. The dragon circled her anxiously.

Sleep Sleep! it peeped like a bird in their heads.

The red one turned from them disdainfully. His voice sounded like a whisper now. She is not human. We must leave her alone. Will you not ride? His voice was calmer now, pleading and on the verge of insult at the same time.

Jhovam’s expression shifted slowly from his odd blend of fear to obvious confusion, then worry.
“Oh no . . . I don’t think I’m suppose to be here.” His eyes grew wide in realization as he slowly backed away. ‘Rashmak! Where are you! Are you breaking anything down?’

‘Umm . . . no? Why would I?’

Jhovam frowned heavily, then backed away further. Why was Ygrashmak sounding so hesitant? He didn’t ponder on it too much as he glanced at the two dragons and awakened woman. “I think I have to get home. I – I – I – I am not suppose to be here! I will get into trouble!”

(lol he probably IS breaking something)

Oh no! My little human, the red one cooed, do not panic. Calm! The dragon reached out, trying to lick his face.

Meanwhile, Cedric's wife burst into tears, and the green dragon crouched over her protectively.

It is good to be here! the red one insisted. Just ask your other half!

Jhovam’s brow twitched as the woman burst into tears. He wasn’t use to females crying. He wasn’t use to it at all. They were the strong ones, the powerful ones, the dominant ones. He didn’t expect to see a woman cry on a viridian dragon as a crimson dragon was trying to lick him. Wait –

“Aah!” Jhovam shouted out as the rough tongue scraped against his soft, pale skin. He stepped back then tripped over himself, falling flat on the dirty ground. He seemed to be in a mixture of pain and fear as the crimson beast approached him even more.

’Ygrashmak! Red lizard winged things are licking me!’

’Not now Jhovam, I am a little busy.’

"Cedric is not here," the woman complained to the dragon hovering above her. "What do I do with this human?"

Leave him to us, the two of them insisted in chorus.

What is your name? The green one stuck his tongue out again, this time licking some of the dust off of his arm, turning it to mudd.

Jhovam winced as a second tongue licked his arm, and he looked up to the woman with fearful eyes. “W-what is going on? What is happening? Where am I? Where was - mistress – is – Fable – what?” He glanced to the two dragons, and did not feel comfort in the way they expressed that they would “take care of him”. He has experienced many times where “taking care of” wasn’t a positive experience in any way.

Knowing his dragon was “busy” and his pain and nausea was gone, he felt severely confused, disoriented, and for once in his life, alone. Tears began flowing down the side of Jhovam’s face, tracing dark lines in the dirt smudges on his cheeks.

They are BOTH crying! The green one sounded in a panic. These dragons were fairly young. We need the others!

Fine, the red one snapped, GO to the older ones. Beg for their help.

The green dragon scampered off in a hurry, leaving just the red one to comfort them both. An odd purring noise started from his throat as he nudged at Jhovam. Lay down.

Jhovam’s eyes continued to flow freely, tears streaming down them. He never felt so isolated, so confused, so sad, or so fearful. He curled up into a small ball, wrapping himself tightly within his robe. He felt horrible, and none of this felt right. Slowly, Jhovam’s whimpering ended.

“What is g-going on here?”
