Okay, so last night I had this massive headache... which isn't uncommon for me... Because of said headache, I was able to write this poem... It's kinda weird, for some reason, I can't write outstanding poetry unless I'm either A. Extremely tired or B. I'm suffering from a major headache. Speaking of which, I'm getting one right now... eek But anyway, I was at The Boyfriend's house yesterday when I got said headache. And needless to say, I was kinda peeved at The Boyfriend when I wrote this. What? He was playing a video game instead of paying attention to me! I'm only slightly greedy and needy of his attention!!! But anyway... Here's the poem! Unlike most my poetry, I couldn't exactly pinpoint a specific... is topic the word I'm looking for? I couldn't pinpoint a theme I suppose. It bounced around at least three times... At first it was purely metaphoric, then it got darker, talking about shadows and such, and then I ended it with references to The Boyfriend. XD Anyway, I've never written a poem so random before... Which is why I had so much trouble naming it... And I still might change the name... But anyway, let me know what you think!!!
Darkening Thoughts Impure black roses Simply dust in the wind Tainted upon me Haunted within Words reach my ears Yet no lights reach my eyes Wind caressing skin Soft gentle lies Rose petals scattered Underneath my feet Warmth fills my soul And I welcome the heat Darkness all around Yet a light still inside The silent still angels In them I confide And why do the shadows Still haunt my heart? Viciously trying To tear me apart They lurk within meadows And this flowery field Trying to torment What I thought had been healed Let the waves keep crashing ‘Til it wears down the rocks Let them all keep trying To break down the locks I’ll smile and wait For a new day to come You cannot drive feeling Into what is numb The days growing old Nights go by so quick And life in itself Is diseased and sick I still believe in hope The sun is shining somewhere And I think you’re the one Who can take me there So together we’ll travel Hand within hand And slowly walk across This old deserted land Searching so long Life must come to an end If given the chance I’ll do it again Beneath the rain clouds I heave a great sigh Such feelings of happiness I begin to cry And yes it is true Life indeed is tough Yet somehow loving you Makes it simple enough

Very interesting. And yeah, I have to be in certain moods to write even the least of decent poetry haha. But I really like your rhyming, very nice.
