A random trivia if you wanna work it in : the train trip takes about 2.5 hours from the shop to the destination. biggrin I'm playing fast and loose with time and space... domokun

Also, er, I have not the inkling of an idea how the rescue shall take place, so it shall be FREEFORM! Hurrah for inpromptu RP-ing! XP In other words, save me... ;-; ))

Mynk and Takuto set out, after leaving a note.

Mynk made it to the station with time to spare, and bought some food and snacks at the tiny convenience store. As she snuck a riceball to Takuto - who was half-hidden in her bag - she munched on one herself, the anticipation making her fidgety.

Despite her reassurances about it being a 'strong lead', she did have her doubts; what if she'd been completely wrong? What if Lofn was being held somewhere else?

If Mynk had known that Takuto was having thoughts of small mushrooms informing him regretfully that his princess was in another castle, she would have arched an eyebrow and pointed out the parallel of princess-to-Lofn. But alas, she did not have the power to read minds, and hence did not comment.

"It's fairly long. You could just come out after you've finished eating; hardly anyone is around, anyway. It's a Sunday. Or," she added, "you could just go to sleep for a while. You were out later than me." Even as she said so, though, she glanced surreptiously around for anyone staring at her muttering to herself, then pulled the gap wider.

"You won't do her much good exhausted." Mynk said pointedly, but with exasperated concern. Then she reached into her newly vacated bag and pulled out an iPod. If anything could calm Takuto, music could. "Here."

Fitting the headphones over his ears, she secretly switched it to her "Slow Music" playlist. Sneaky.

And of course she thought Takuto impossibly adorable, and could even in some way share her daughter's fascination with his cat form, but thought it would be suicide to remark on it while he was in this mood. Maybe... hmm... later?

Mynk sighed, a small smile of satisfaction on her lips. "Thank you for caring, Takuto." Then she grinned devilishly. I'll be sure to tell Lofn about it.

Then she waited, as the shadows of trees and tunnels slatted in through the windows, and the train swept past them all.

Correction : Waited, while wondering what the -heck- Takuto was dreaming about.

... Her eyes fell on his tail as he mumbled something about it...

Sore, sore temptation.

Now she knew where Lofn had gotten her bad habit of pulling things when she was young!

"... Takuto, wake up! We're here!" Mynk prodded the sleeping cat in her lap urgently.

In a few strides, she had caught up to him - being that her legs were much longer than his, at least for the moment - and snatched him up before looking around. An old man was dozing in the corner of the carriage, and a man had his newspaper open and literally in his face.

"Takuto! There are PEOPLE around!" She hissed under her breath; she was taking no chances.

She dug into her bag. "Map... map... Here!" She produced it with a flourish, and fell to scrutinizing it. "South-east of here... Okay. Radborne Manor. Can't miss it; it's huge."

With that, she dropped it back into her bag and scurried out of the tollgates. Privately, she hoped that her utter lack of direction sense would not evidence itself right then...
