I've been a fan of Stephen King since I was young, and I've read most of his novels. While right now I'm really liking King's collaborations with Peter Straub The Talisman and Black House, I would say that my favorite would have to be Salem's Lot.
I got Cell for Christmas, but I haven't had the time to read it yet, unfortunately.

If you like Cell, I take it that you're a fan of zombie movies. The only aspect of the novel which interested me was the fact that cellphones basically destroy the world, or at least royally screw it up. It's amusing to read on the back flap of King's mini biography. "He does not own a cell phone."
My favorite novels are Rose Madder and Pet Sematary. I'm currently reading Wolves of the Calla.
King should really cut down on his trivial chatter in his recent books. Is he getting paid by the word or something? Most of it seems useless to me.

Not one of most popular books, but I really enjoyed Needful Things.

The entire Dark Tower series.
If we're talking about a single book, then I'd have to say The Dark Half.

"The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon"
One of my guy friends recommended it to me, and actually it was the first Stephen King novel that I ever read. I enjoyed all of them details and how it flowed. However, I learned not to read it at night.

The Dark Tower series tops my list of favorite novels, but as far as individual books go, I'd say Rose Madder all the way. Which is strange, because I REALLY didn't think I'd like that book. Not because I don't like Steven King or anything, but in my opinion, topics like spousal abuse are more frightening than zombies or monsters, because that stuff really happens.
As for short stories/novellas, I loved the Langoliers. Very, very impressive

Dr.Speth I'm going to go with Eyes of the Dragon Sad to say, that's the only one of his books I have read. It's billed more as fantasy than horror, which is why I picked it up. I enjoyed it, even though the guy with the ax made me think of commericals for The Shining movie, when visualizing the scene.
