A tiny form was stuck... stuck rather completely. Her ebony hooves were sunken in the muck and her white fur on her legs and covering her hooves was completely stained brown if not still submersed in the sticky stuff.
On top of that, Death couldn't even take to the skies with her pregnant belly. She was bulging from each side and her wings fluttered to try and pick her up out of the mud but she couldn't do it, the weight was holding her down.
Add in the fact that her shyess had driven her here in the FIRST place and you had a very upset mare. ninja

Squealing in disgust, almost ready to give up completely walking until the stupid mud went away Lovey frowned and panted. It had been a long uphill haul for her to get a few feet, her tail was long her mane was even LONGER and to top it off her hooves kept sinking deeper and deeper into the mud.
Looking forward she saw a mare that seemed to be equally stuck in the mud, it seemed almost ridiculous how stuck she was. Pregnant to boot, her stomach curving out and around full with her young ones and wings that probably had the strength to lift her out but not without putting strain on her little ones...
The mare seemed upset and she didn't know if the mare would want help or company.. taking a deep breathe Lovey moved forward out of the shadows she had been standing ing, sloshing the whole way over..
"Hello.... are you alright?"

Gentle gray eyes flicked over sharply in the direction of the mare that was coming up on her, blinking slightly from the abruptness of it all. It wasn't every day that she was asked if she were alright, after all, she was born a wind soquili. Usually it was thought that a wind soquili had no problems because they could flee with their wings from it.
"Well I...." Death blushed heavily, her hormones making her shyness she normally possessed even worse. "I... I can't get out. My hooves are... stuck."
She smiled shakily up to the other, not sure wha tto say other than that, wings wrapping softly around her belly as if to hide it. Death had yet to tell even her mate that she was pregnant, so it was a strange thing to be met by a mare when it was possible to see her predicament. ninja

Bright neon eyes gazed back in merriment, the poor dear was one, shy and two, very much wanting to hide the fact that she was with child. Lovey had a way about her and tended to know when others were carrying... Call it a strong maternal instinct, but she would let the mare have her delusions of not noticing and wouldn't say a word. Smiling softly she spoke, "Would you care for some help, if I put a leg under one of yours and lend some muscle you ought to be able to lift out enough to fly to solid ground... I myself will have to trudge there"
Nodding towards where she had been headed, a hill that looked soft but certianly not as mucky as where she currently stood, "Was that your destination too?"
She kept her wings wrapped tightly around her belly as if to hide her pregnancy from the world, it seemed curious to her. Lovey had no possible mates and wasn't worried about finding one since she was young and still had her looks about her. Chuckling almost silently and to herself and she grinned openly, relaxed, as usual with most of the Soquili she had met.

Embarrassment showed on her white muzzle as Death nodded her head softly. She had been attempting to get out of the muck and mudd up to the top of the hill, but her wings weren't strong enough to lift her without hurting the foal or foals within her huge, bulging belly. And she wouldn't, she refused to fly and hurt them.
"Th-thank you, but I'll trudge along... with you." Death told her with a sharper red blush falling across her high cheekbones.
Attempting to rip her hoof out of the horrid muck, the small mare nearly lost her footing and slid a few inches backwards as she slapped it back down in and let her eyes widen in shock. It wasn't every day one slid in mud after all and it left poor Death with her hooves spread out wide in all four directions and her chest heaving.
"Ah... ahm.. Yes it was, originally. I don't quite know what... to do with myself now..." ninja

Shaking her head and moving forward as fast at the mud would let her Lovey move under a front let of Death's that was hyperextended to the point of being painful. Planting her legs firmly and she lifted her front leg and listened for the satsifying, "Pop!" That should accompany the lifting. Smiling when the leg came loose she moved back letting the mare decide where it went. Backing several feet, slowly Lovey waited to see if the mare would let her help her again or if she wished to try on her own. Lovey's strength was going down, she had already been walking for a long time in the muck and much longer she'd be giving up and laying down in the nasty stuff.
"You're shy.. I can tell that but if you'll let me help youget your legs unstuck and if we move quickly enough we ought to be able to get to the hill.. I'm tired and since you're pre-- err probably just as weak as I am it won't be long before you're stuck for the day and night..."
Smiling blandly she waited, knowing the mare would have to weigh the pros and cons of letting a stanger help her. She wouldn't say anything else to try to persuade the mare that she could be very helpful since it would be up to the mare to to decide if she felt trusting today... or not.

Leg free, Death reached out slightly with her free hoof and pawed gently at the mud before putting all her weight on it and using that to pull her body forward enough to release another hoof slowly. She would get somewhere if she was able to do it all this way, though she wasn't quite sure how well that would work.
"Um.... I'm not... always like this it's just...." Death pulled her wings away from her belly and peered back at the large bulge sheepishly. "He-he doesn't know.... yet, is all. But... I won't strain them with flying and lose them."
Her words for the last part were more firm than she'd been in a while, even despite her whispering, ghostly tone that was always there. She might not have wanted to admit it to herself or to the world, but she was pregnant and she would be a mother. She had to deal with it and had to at least be able to talk to others.
"My name... my name's Death and thank you." She offered the other a soft smile and fluttered her wings at her sides, laying them flat on her back chuckling. ninja

Lovey watched the mare, Death, move carefully. Watchful that while she worked herself towards the hill that she didn't strain too hard. Lovey's mane drug uselessly in the mud and she frowned a bit, that was going to be a terriblie pain to get clean.. She might have to let the dark-skinned two-legger that tried to follow her around wash it.
Smiling softly, understanding washed over her, "You're worried he won't be happy about the babies... A word of advice if you will, but if you aren't showing him how happy you are then how is he to know if he should be happy or not?" Thinking, "Would flying strain them? I just figured trying to lift off in the mud could be what hurt."
It was nice to see the mare becoming more assertive, if it weren't for her pregnant state Lovey might've been a bit impatient... She loved almost everybody but wishy-washy and shy were harder for her to be around.
"Death... hmm what an unusual name.. well I'm Lovey Dovey, but I prefer just going by Lovey." Smiling back and smiling even more widely when the mare laughed.

Glancing at Lovey for a moment, Death smiled again and lifted a wing to usher her closer so she could help. She had to admit that she was lucky because her mane and tail weren't even half as long as this poor mare's were.
"Well... I know that I have to talk to him soon, that's part of why I was heading up here. The last time I saw him he said something about coming this way and I just... hoped." Death laughed, her ghostly tones wafting through the air softly.
Taking a few steps forward, Death pulled her legs along as best she could before looking back at Lovey.
"Well Lovey Dovey is a pretty name, I named myself Death a long time ago, can't even remember my own name truth be told, it HAS been over seventy years after all." The pretty mare shook her head and chuckled again, "As for the strain, it would hurt them quite a bit. Most likely hurt myself as well since there seems to be more than just one in there and it's hard to walk with them let alone fly." ninja

Shaking her head out she moved closer to death, so they stood side-by-side, not too close since her belly stuck out quite a bit. "I swear I'm going to cut all this off someday.. but spring will dry out soon and the rest of the year it'll be nice to have..."
Panting and grinning she bobbed her head, "Well we're going to make it there soon, look.. we've made quite a bit of progress and it's starting to feel like we're walking on an incline..."
Frowning a bit, "You and your mate don't stay very close to each other? i can't imagine being separated from mine in the future very often.. it would probably make me a very unhappy mare.. Hmm but to each her own, no?"
"Seventy years? My.. that makes me feel quite a bit like an infant... I think I'm only about four or five but it's hard to tell, you know?" Smiling blandly and looking at the feathery white wings, "Yes.. I'm afraid I've no clue what flying would do as I've never attempted it..."

"Oh you shouldn't do that, I know a stream you can wash that all off in once we're free of this mud. It would be a shame to see you free of that pretty mane and tail, it suits you quite well." Death told her with a smile.
"Well actually.... I was the one that walked away from him when I discovered myself like this. I don't know what came over me, I'm sure he must be either worried or angry with me by this point. I can't say that I blame him either, I can hardly stand to be from him and yet... here I am."
Her head shook as she thought it over, hooves moving over the mudd and moving as fast as she could. It seemed as if the stuff was slowly starting to recede, her hooves were easier to pull out as it was. Sure she couldn't pick up speed and run even if she WANTED to and could, but it was good to know that she could walk easier.
"Yes, I'm quite old I fear, not as old as some but quite old, even my lifemate isn't hardly half my age." She laughed once more and suddenly felt her hooves pull completley full, no longer sticking in the muck and walking insanely easier. "Well... I know you won't ever get the chance.... but if you want to know part of what it feels like, on a windy day, close you eyes and lift your head. If you pretend to spread your wings, even if they aren't there, you'll know." ninja

Smiling a bit and bobbing her head, "I threaten to do it quite often but when push comes to shove I'm sure I could never do it.. I've not cut the things ince I was born and I've done everything in my power to take care of it. But the older I get the less I care about thing.. I've found my hair grows at an amazing rate, so even if I cut it off I think it'd be back within a year..." Grinning a bit ruefully.
"Preganancy makes mare a bit crazy I think. Hopefully he won't be too upset with you for running off... but if you've taken care of his little ones I'm sure he'll have no reason to be grumpy with you. Have you been looking for him but since you can't fly it's harder now?"
Stopping for a moment Lovey caught her breathe, she wasn't out of shape by any means it was just aweful hard at times to move in the mud.. her head ached from the mane being drug and her rump felt strange and disjointed from trailing along so far behind. Shaking her body out and sighing happily she started walking again, knowing it would only be another minute or so before they got to the top.
"Age is but a number though, I was matured beyond my years when I was younger and now it feels like I'm backtracking to make up for the childhood I didn't have. I was so worried about the mane that I didn't bother running or playing and now it's the most fun I have..." Grinning a bit, "Hmm I've done that before, just listened to the wind and sometiems it feels like you're starting to move and to fly away...
