A few days ago, I had the worst nightmare of my life. In it, I killed a young boy. In the dream, he had to be killed (I don't know why), and I accepted the duty. I walked into my room and he was kneeling on my bed. I closed my hands around his throat, and squeezed. That was the worst part. Even though he had accepted his fate, he couldn't help but struggle. It took a full three minutes of real time (a long time in a dream) for him to stop struggling. It felt so horribly real that I cried in real life, though my dream self expressed no emotion. When I woke, I couldn't seperate dream from reality. I thought that I had actually killed another human being. Even after reality set in, it took several hours to shake off the feelings of guilt, nausea, and dull horror. I've since fully recovered, but curiousity remains. I've never felt tactile sensations in dreams before, and I've never felt emotions in dreams either. My life is pretty much normal at present, and I can't help but wonder what on earth could have initiated such an unusual dream.

This dream may only be an indicator of the amount of stress you are going through at this time. Or that you are maturing and some of your remaining child-like qualities have to go.

As to why the dream is tactile, I don't really know. Possibly to make it more personal, or a recognition of the struggle taking place. (not everyone wants to grow up).

Perhaps the dream is an indication of making the tough decisions you may be called to make where you will have do things that are less than ethical, but to serve the greater good.

I've just finished a very enlightening book, "Concious Dreams" by Robert Moss. One of the things he says in the book is that bad dreams or nightmares are usually dreams in which we wake ourselves up before the conclusion of the actual event in the dream. If we could train ourselves to stay with the dream, or return to it, we would find out why the scary/horrific/unusual images were used. I know this dream was a while ago, but if you could re-enter it, you could ask your (dream) self why you had to do what you did!

Thats the one thing that I dislike about dreams...at least when they are nightmares. I tend to wake up before the conclusion, but as soon as I'm asleep again, the dream keeps going, almost as if I had never woken up!

I had a dream last night that I woke up shaking..and within the dream, my character was no longer pregnant...In waking life, I lost the child. I was *supposed* to be at 13 weeks and 1 day, the baby measured 8 weeks and 54 days, exactly one week after I found out that I was pregnant it passed. I had wondered why in a couple of my latest dreams I was no longer pregnant, now I know.

I agree with Thyna about your dream, Priest. It seems as though there may be a part of you that you have had to 'give up' so-to-speak. Maybe not your childhood, maybe just a part of you that manifested itself as a child. If there have been any major changes in your life, this could very well cause a dream such as this. If you can follow WIGU's advice on trying to finish the dream, if you feel comfortable doing so, to see what other information you can gather.
