<< Damned culture these days.
Okay. Recently there have been alot of people with same names/ people with simlar names and alot of the have been "anagramed" and an extra letter added.
Examples:
Kingdom Hearts Series: Roxas and Sora. Roxas is Sora, scrambled up with an "x" added.
AND
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: Link and Colin. Colin's Japanese name is Kolin which is Link anagramed with an "o" added.
So why not in the Narutoverse? I know, Tobi=Obito is near impossible but anything can happen, ne? Afterall Tobi is Obito without the other "o" and anagramed.
Feel free to flame me. I'll sit in a corner and cry. I'll take it like a woman. Just don't make it too harsh.

I still doubt the Tobi = Obito theory. I dont' thik that will ever change.
Xemnas is an anagram for Ansem... and mansex XD So you know, anagrams can go just about anyway you want XD

I'm actually one of the few that believes in the Tobi-Obito theory. sweatdrop They just act so alike, and the possibility would explain Tobi's personality. Plus, with all of the attention Kakashi's mangekyou sharingan has been getting, there could be a plot-twist. b;
It's not impossible, so to say.

I am a hardcore Tobi = Obito believer. Call me a loser, but I am ust fully convinced. Here's a brief little list of my reasons (and I'm not saything that I KNOW, and I'm not saying that people who don't believe it are wrong. XD This is strictly my opinion, based on what's been presented in the manga):
1. The names are similar. XD Obviously.
2. Obito's goggles were orange. Obito's mask is orange. There's not much actually...proof...here...but I mean...the only people who actually wear orange is Naruto, Tobi, and Obito.
3. He's mask has an eyehole for his right eye. His left eye is covered...which would make sense being that IF he were Obito, his left eye had been removed and given to Kakashi.
4. Obito was known to be a crybaby, and have a personality as such...which makes me curious when Tobi tried to get of, and RAN from the demon he was supposed to capture. xD
I just think it's all too much of a coincidence.

Good points, Remedi. I'm still not sure about this theory though so I'll just stay neutral until I see Tobi and Kakashi face off, ne? XD Although I'm kind of sure about the Yondaime is Naruto's father theory..

I really hate the idea of it, and I think it's retardidly cliche and unoriginal, but...Meh. If it happens. oh, I'll not be happy.

I actually think it is a possibility. The only thing I can think of the argue with it is. Tobi calls Deidara, Deidara-senpai. Like a respected elder. And I don't think Deidara can be that much older than Obito. Can he? Obito's like... 20 something. How old is Deidara? That's the only thing that gets me. I totally support and believe this theory though. Just confuses me.
The funny thing is. I haven't even gotten to Tobi. I don't read the manga, I just research the characters alot. So if I said anything wrong or untrue. Forgive me. Wikipedia is my only resource on Obito.
Good points Remedi. Those all the things I took into consideration when I first thought about it. Great minds think alike lol.

I read alot of crap about it I didnt want to believe it but now I do, just by the hair and the fact that both Obito has the same body amour as Tobi does or other way around xd both are good looking to me

I support the Obito/Tobi theory, too. I mean, there's just too many similarities for it to just be a coincidence.
I was kinda hoping Tobi would fight against Kakashi in this ark, but it's looking a little doubtful right now. Ah well, maybe if Tobi really is Obtio, Sasuke will learn he's not the only Uchiha left.

I'm totally in favour of the Tobi-Obito theory, because of the reasons Remedi has stated.
But the thing that got me about the anagram was
TobitoBI
But anagrams dont mean much.
If they did, then Deathnote would be destroyed D: considering "Yagami" spelt backwards says "I'm a gay."

I just don't think Kishimoto would be that obvious with it.
1.The hair.
2.Obito gave his left eye to Kakashi and Tobi's mask is focused on his right eye.
3.Obito's body was greatly damaged by the boulder, Tobi has bolts in his arm.
4.Yeah mask-color ring, as Remedi stated
5.Their personalities are alike.
All those points make it painfully obvious and i'd be disapointed in Kishimoto if he made it that obvious when everything else we had to wait and find out.

It is becoming more and more probable that Tobi is in fact Uchiha Obito. In chapter 364 it is revealed the he possesses the Sharingan, and admits he holds the powers of Uchiha Madara. It is said he holds his powers, not that he is Uchiha Madara. Despite what the misleading blogs on wikipedia, which is a fan written resource in the first place. So anyone that has ever doubted that Tobi is Obito be prepared to eat your words. But also, anyone who has ever believe that Tobi was Obito, don't get your hopes up, he's just an Uchiha right now, not quite Obito yet.

This is one of the more obvious theories, or at least I think so.
My other favorite theory is the Naruto=Yondaime's Son. But we're not talking about that now.
And I agree, there are way too many similarities. Although Kishimoto could lead us on and just make it some newcomer character. He has a way of throwing us off... xP
