Dove-like wings fluttered across the distance as Death floated in the crisp air, happy for a moment that her wings were able to be stretched out so. She had been cramped and held down to the earth by her baskets, though she had to admit that she didn't truly have a problem with staying down on the ground and being around her family.
Though she had to admit that it was crushing to stay there locked down for so long. A nice refreshing flight was doing wonders for her mood and making her feel better than she had in a while. The entire month she was fat had made her feel awkward and made her feel like she was hardly the mare that Khairi had fallen in love with. Not with that huge belly that had harbored three foals, not one or two but three.
And now with those baskets she was in even worse shape, she couldn't really leave or go anywhere. Thanks to Khairi being on baby duty she was able to go for a short flight, though she admittedly wanted it to be just a tad bit longer than a few hours. ninja

Staring longingly into the sky the little sugarplum fairy snorted still cursing those bees from the fall. Not only did a two-legger touch her but now she was cursed with one heck of an injury healing on its own time very slowly. Pawing at the ground something white caught her eye as she trotted along with a toss of her petite head.
It was another Soquili flying high in the sky which her heart yearned to do. Trying once hand before she failed miserably annoyed by the slight stinging and whistling that annoying tear in her wings made. Picking up speed now she galloped following the other gaining much related speed she asked for. Eyes widened with excitement she let her wings outward even though the bandage stayed on tightly. Trying to ignore the whisting she kept running to keep up.
Raising her head she whinnied outward hoping the other would hear her, "Heeeeeeeeeeelllllloooo up there! How are you?" her voice rang outward like a child's full of curiousity and wonder.

Ears flicked in the direction of a noise, one that drug her straight from her thoughts and into herself once more. Down on the ground was a little flutter soquili that was running along the ground. If only from confusion for the fact that a flutter wasn't flying up to her, Death stopped and flattened her wings to her body so she fell from the sky.
The speed she fell at made her smile and she dide a bright barrel roll before angling her body once more and opening her wings to land on the ground. Her ebony hooves touched lightly and she blushed from embarrassment for her actions above just a few seconds ago.
"Hello little wind cousin. It's a pleasure." Death said in her whispery, ghost voice.
Her soft gray eyes watched the small purple flutter in envy for a moment before coming to a stop on the bandaged wing. So that wasy why... ninja

Shaylee giggled with a nod included with a dip of her charming little head in unison. "Alo there. Really quiet this morning don't cha think? Mmm pretty wings you have there." she trilled swishing her curle d tail back and forth.
Torn was most likely with that two-legger Maeven so she had plenty of time to get to know another of the winged bloodlines.
As her eyes watched the other's sympathy in her own soft orbs she shook her head with a grin, "It hurts a bit but its getting better" her words played out with such a childish ring, "but I'll tell you one thing. Beware those bumblebees... that hurt like heck".
She motioned her wing to move a tiny bit eying it warily. "Yep nasty little buggers they are. Ouch".

"Why thank you, yours are quite amazing themselves I must admit." Death said as she eyed her good wing and smiled. She'd always been a bit envious of flutters and they're remarkable wings, though she did love her own wings much better. They were more... reliable. She knew that they would be able to hold up to quite a bit, or at least she bargained on it.
"Bumble bees? Well then I'm sure I shall watch out for them from now on. Thank you for the warning." Her gray eyes crinkled gently as she nodded to the other. "My name is Death, it's a pleasure to meet you."
The little purple flutter mare before her was almost as large as Death, which was strange since flutters were much smaller, it gave Death a bit of insight into just how tiny she herself really was. Now it made her wonder if her own foals would have her size issues when they came from the baskets. ninja

Her feet moved off and on for shaylee was so high spirited she could never stay quite still for more than a minute. She was like a banded dragonfly so used to zipping here and there that it rarely occured to her there was a ground.
Shaylee was always the envious type of the wingeds for their wings were so full and long rather than small and thin with shining membranes and shape. Even though she could stand her tallest they always seemed a bit like giants to her including Torn that the little lilac flutter was greatly fond of. Such graceful long legs and elegance was molded into the making of a superb winged whereas flutters were petite, delicate, and fast as the wind when need be.
"You have such pretty wings... mmm forgive me if I am envious of them. Others say I'm silly for that but yet I don't think so. My wings are fine but sometimes I wish for long full ones like you wingeds have" she smiled with a cute nod looking like an inspired child toward the mare in front of her.
"Oh yes.. silly me" she giggled with an apologetic shake of her head, "I tend to yammer on.. or I think that's what Zaribe says I do. I'm Shaylee. Pleased to meet you Death. Really pretty name by the way".

Watching the way the bubbly female before her moved almost every second, Death repressed a chuckle of thought and nodded her ebony head to Shaylee instead. The ghostly mare wasn't one to like being on the ground for long periods of time, though with her mate that was an exception, a great one. Her body had belonged to the uncaring wind long before it had anything else after all.
Blinking her tranquil gray eyes, the mare smiled gently. "That's a very pretty name, though I sincerely doubt that any other would say the same of my own name. It tends to make others stop and stare if anything." The mare chuckled softly at herself for her choices so many decades ago.
"Have you now? They really aren't anything to be jealous of. You can fly as high as I, can fly faster than I and can dazzle the hearts of many a stallion with those wings." It wasn't jealousy that made her say it, it was simply that Death was completely content with who she was and where she was. The world around her would come and go, she'd seen it all in the decades she'd been alive after all. ninja

Shaylee watched her with such intrique as her little thoughts could muster. Waves of queries rumbled through her little brain wanting answers to everything under the sun. Wondering to herself if this nice friendly mare could offer advice, though her mood would lessen talking about such secretive personal worries and ambitions. Still though she was always in high spirits and maybe this could be even more lifting...
Pondering how to approah this she tilted her head with a quizical expression. Clearing her throat she spoke hoping there was no wavering and kept her hopes on it shifting her little lilac hooves now and then.
"Hmm now I'll be serious if just a moment... strange huh?" she grinned with a tiny flutter of her wings. "I need some advice since you look like the motherly type. Am I right?" she cooed in her query watching the other mare....

One of her ears flicked back at the thought, though the other stayed up and both of her gentle gray eyes stayed locked on Shaylee's form. She was asked if she were motherly, though she was still learning what that meant. Should she tell her that? Or should she just let the delusion come over herself and be transfered to the other? After all, the baskets had yet to pop so there was no real indication that she WASN'T motherly... at least not yet.
"I wouldn't say it strange, everyone has their moments where they're forced to be serious if only for a moment." Death responded, avoiding the question that came after for a moment before taking a deep breath. "All three of my children are still within their baskets, and though I'd love to say myself motherly... I have yet to discover it. However if you need someone to talk to or to ask a few questions I could always give it my best."
The tiny wind mare tried to decipher through Shaylee's body language what the question was, but she had to admit that the other mare seemed as if she were hiding it well. ninja

Shaylee shifted her weight unsure what she was doing. But in escence she wanted things told, wanted them spoken so her little pondering mind would stop flitting away every time she knew it was right.
"Okay" she started with a small sigh, "See I have motherly troubles, if that's what you'd call it." she blinked shifting again reminding herself of things gone wrong and things unknown.
"Prepare yourself.. its quite long. Well I mean I do talk pretty fast so maybe its not. Oh I don't know" she muttered shifting herself once again. This was so strange someone really did desire to hear what she had to say.

"What you would call it?" Death blinked at the mare before her and leaned her head to the side slowly. "You either have them or you don't, I've never found it to be both at the same time."
She covered her muzzle with a wing and chuckled lightly. The tiny mare didn't see like she was used to being listened to. That was the story of Death's life. The soft-sopken wind mare was rarely listened to though she was always spoken to.
"I have quite a bit of time dear. I don't have a curfew with my mate after all." The small mare smiled softly, "Take your time, I'll listen."
So laid back it didn't matter who she was talking to, how fast they were talking or when they were talking. Death understood it all. Or at least her tranquil personality allowed her to step back from it all and listen. ninja

"Okay then" she beamed with a little trill, "Where do I start, things are hard to say because bad memories trample afoot you know." she sighed dipping her head as her tail swished back and forth.
Clearing her throat she let her her mind wander yet again remembering events gone by and happening around her. When ready the little flutter mare promptly seated her rump against the ground relaxing herself.
"Okay... see there was this stallion named Azure, a flutter just like me. And well that really made me soooooooo happy like. He talked to me with the sweetest words, visions of sugarplum trees high in the mountains. So I folled with him and fell in love thinking he loved me." she frowned trying to remember where she was in her tale.
"So I followed him to the mountains and feasted on sugarplums night and day. And well something happened making me get really fat. See I came home in foal and knew not what Iwas doing" she sighed as her little lavender neck inclined downward with her sorrow.
Pausing she looked at Death to make sure she understood where the flutter was actually coming from. Safi had been the only other she'd mentioned about her little mishap, hopefully Death would acknowledge as well where shaylee was coming from.

"Aaaaah" Death said simply, nodding her head in all the right places for the story, her gray eyes watching the other closely but also really understanding. She'd heard stories of others being in such predicaments that they'd gotten pregnant from a male they'd thought they'd loved or that they had loved and yet all the same they were confused.
"So then you wound up having his children and not knowing how it happened or what to do?" The ghostly mare asked, attempting to make sure that she knew what the other was talking about so that she didn't insult her or get the wrong idea herself.
Of course she'd never dealt with anything of this sort herself, she'd fallen in love with Khairi and hadn't really known the love of another since then. ninja

"Yeah" she responded with a another sigh as she remembered everything to this point, "And the whole thing of it is that I don't even know who or what my babies look like. Well I mean to say they'd be bigger of course but yet they are still my little ones. I just feel so bad that I didn't get to be with them and know who they truly are."
She pawed the ground letting so many things run to a fro inside her litlle congested mind, all the more wondering thought after thought.
Her eyes widened as she looked deeply at the taller more refined mare, "So my next thought is this. How would i ever find them, you know my babies that were taken away so long ago. Would they resent me because I wasn't a good mother or remember me at all?" she blinked with worriment seeping into her eyes,"Its all so confusing because I know now if i had little ones again I'd be a much better mother like Glory, Celendria, and Saissis".
Past mistakes often come back to haunt those that truly fear things they've done, and this little flutter realized the evil pangs of what regret can truly do.

Watching the female with gentle gray eyes, Death heard her words but didn't like what it was that she was hearing. No female should ever question her children's love for her. No mother should ever have to stand in agony and wonder if she had done something wrong. No mother should ever feel guilty.
A sigh passed from Death's muzzle, seeming to be simply a gust of wind in the air from how soft she spoke. She didn't like seeing pain in others, she didn't like hearing pain from their mouths.
Reaching out with a soft wing, Death used her feathers to pull the other's head up and look into her eyes, the way she had with her human once upon a time. It was gutsy move from a ghostly mare towards someone that she didn't know, especially a flutter.
"Never question that your children love you." Her soft voice whisped across the air. "Never think that you werent' a good mother, it was your first time and you were confused, I'm sure that any child would be able to understand once they've grown." It was at least what she believed, and what she'd done with her own parents so she could understand it as such. "If you ever need help to find them, then you can always ask my help my friend, I'll try my best to help you."
Death's smile was soft, just like a mother for a moment. The mare was attempting to wonder what she would feel when the three baskets she had would finally open and she'd see her beautiful children at last. Would she feel the same? Would they stay with her? She didn't know, but she did know that she would do her best to keep them safe and be a mother. Just seeing the reaction on Shaylee's face made her realize this. ninja
