This is the Dreaming thread for Lewis. Do not enter if you are not invited. Welcome home, child, said the god, his voice echoing softly from every corner of the room. Rather than the cold winter night, instead as Lewis awoke, he would find himself comfortably ensconced in a soft large bed, in a room that glowed with firelight and the scent of homey living -- sweet sachets for scent, the crackling of the hearth, the warm smell of sizzling food...
And Icelus sat in a soft, overstuffed chair opposite the bed.
Priest of mischief, you have returned to the realm of dreams.

Lewis sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes and yawning. The last thing he remembered was sitting in a bar with Kemis, getting well on the way to drinking his troubles away. It took his sleepy brain a while to register at first, but he slowly began to realize he was not at the bar anymore, nor was he at the Oneroi shop.
Instead, he was in a big comfy bed in a pleasant room with a strange man sitting across from him. He was tempted to think at first of all the strange people who took advantage of people in bars by getting them insanely drunk and carrying them off to have their wicked way with them, but something about this man pushed those suspicions away.
"Who... who are you?" Lewis said, his voice still scratchy with sleep, but as alert as he could be in the state he was in.

Pale blue eyes surveying the youth in the bed, Icelus crossed his legs quite gracefully, calm and gentle as he spoke.
I am Icelus, child. And you are home -- or, what once was your home.
The god smiled indulgently. Take a moment... wake up. You must be very disoriented.

Lewis stretched one last time before finally becoming fully awake. He looked around and blinked.
"I don't remember my house looking like this," he looked around. "But... maybe..."
This place had a vague familiarity about it.

Come with me, child of Mischief, Icelus said softly, his blue eyes swirling with tender emotion as he extended a hand to the sleepy oneroi. We have things to see -- I will show you why this is your home.

Lewis took the hand and allowed himself to be helped out of the bed. He stood up and stretched abit, wiggling his toes and whatnot. He looked around and fully took the room in. He sniffed a bit and noticed the smell of the food and his mouth started to water.
"Where are we going?" Lewis asked, in a loud enough tone to almost hide his stomach growl. Yes, that's Lewis... in the face of God and his own destiny, he's thinking about food. But that was part of his charm.

Why, we are going to first see what your past was like, mischief child, said Icelus, smiling. Your mate, your home... and your child, as well as your duties. You have done little in my sight to displease me...
Niggling regret shone in Icelus' blue eyes. He'd apologize later. What do you wish to see first?

Lewis' ears perked up.
"Child?" he asked. "I... I have a child?"
He was so happy, he could have hugged Icelus... but that'd be weird. Aside from his relationship with Wren working out, the thing he wanted most in life was, infact, a child. Maybe even more than one. And as much as he told Wren it wouldn't matter, it really would. He betrayed his true feelings with his look of excitement.

Icelus couldn't help the warm smile on his lips. I thought that would be the first thing. Come with me, Lewis.
He led the way into the little room beside the main room -- it was separated only by a soft curtain.
The baby's room was softly lit -- little sconces in the wall burned with a soft, moonlit light, as if someone had suspended tiny moons within little circular niches, casting a warm gentle glow around the room. In the center, in a bassinet draped with fine silk and soft wool, a child sleeps peacefully -- but the only thing visible is a softly striped tabby orange tailtip, twitching back and forth lazily, as if keeping time.
He sleeps, observed Icelus. You may hold him if you wish.

Lewis tried to contain his excitement as best he could as he slowly approached his son's cradle. As gently as he could, he moved the blanket away and picked up the child. He cuddled it gently to his body, almost as if a mother would do. With one hand, he smoothed the tufts of hair down on the tiny head. He softly touched the orange and black ears and watched as his tiny son slept in his arms.
"He's..." he whispered. "He's so perfect..."

Some things... never change, child of mischief, said Icelus with a smile, standing back and watching Lewis hold the tiny child. You have always loved children -- and your son in particular. You will have him yet, in your lifetime...

Lewis was so happy that he could cry... but then, he thought about that statement.
"But... Wren..." he said. "She doesn't want children.... Does... does that mean...?"
He trailed off, tears beginning to well up in his eyes. He held his son closer to him, as if cradling him would make the pain go away.

I think, Lewis, Icelus gently whispered, that before you weep, we should go and see your mate at work -- I feel that will reassure you. He extended one hand. Return your child to his rest, mischief child.

Lewis nodded and managed to stifle his sniffles. But he couldn't put the child down. He didn't want to. His son seemed perfectly comfortable and at ease in his arms, that he didn't want to spoil the moment.
Unfortunately, the curiosity of his mate got the better of him. He gently brought the child up to his face and laid a tender kiss on his son's forehead. Then, he placed him back in his bassinet.
"I'm gonna see you soon, little guy," he whispered, stroking the child's hair one last time. "Sleep good and have pleasant dreams."
After taking a final look at him, Lewis turned back to Icelus.
"Ok, I'm ready now."

Let us go, then.
Smiling, Icelus led the way through the bedroom and down a short hallway -- out into the warm, comfortable dimness of the kitchen.
She cannot see, hear, or feel you, Lewis, said Icelus gently, but you can feel her. Be careful.
Moving around the living room, a young woman was sweeping the floor with a long-handled broom, her soft orange hair tied in a beaded braid that reached the back of her knees, and a soft white-and-blue robe tied around her slender body with a wide band of brilliant green satin.
She sang softly as she worked, trying not to wake her child or her mate, her gloved hands holding onto the handle of the broom delicately.
