The photograph of Morwena from our case file at Maban Mabwysiad. She was a very skittish woods nymph who spoke very little of herself, and was very ill at ease around males, preferring to remain invisible at all times until her labor was upon her.
Phaerna Rachel Breslin was born in the backyard one morning and her mother departed soonafterward, making her an official part of our family. Zhane is excited to be a big brother and the rest of us are adjusting.
From her infant stage, Phaerna, rather abruptly, became a toddler one early morning, growing out of her clothes and warrenting a panicked doctor's visit which turned up nothing abnormal. Her wings have begun to go blue at the edges and she is often seen carrying her mouse plush.
After remaining a toddler for several months, Phaerna had another growth spurt. Her wings have gone completely from flaming orange-red like her mother's and have turned into an icy blue. She is shaping up to be a lovely little girl who has begun to develop interests of the musical variety.

Notes On Ijiuo For The Hopelessly Bored
What are they? Ijiuo are not a formally-declared species or race as, frankly, there are not enough of them in existance to deem them as more than a freak occurance. To put them in the most basic sense, they are what you get when a draconic body and spirit is crammed into the soul container of a human or elven vessel and the two appearances mingle.
Where do they come from? In some draconic cultures, mostly the ones that had become some semblance of civilized by living in man's spreading shadow, attempts were made to understand such oddities as ceremony and religion. It became custom in one clan in particular to sculpt relics in the likeness of their deceased both to honor their memory and to provide a beacon of familiarity if their spirit should happen to be wandering and lose its way. These relics were infused with a great amount of magic from the sculptor (usually a loved one or relation to the one it was made for) and all of them contain a small scoop or bowl somewhere in their structure.
This bowl was of much significance as it was where the essense of the dead was placed. Blood, saliva, or sweat was taken from the deceased dragon and placed in the bowl to dry there and mingle with the infused magic, forever placing a signature of ownership on it as belonging to that dragon. What was unknown at the time was that occasionally, the relics served as more than a beacon of familiarity and became an anchor. Confused spirits would linger close to their crafted relic, unable or afraid to leave it...sometimes going as far as to possess it.
When it was discovered that the relics (by then, called Soulcatchers) meant to honor their dead were, instead, preventing them from moving on to their final destiny, actions were taken to destroy them in an effort to free the spirits from their self-made bonds. Instead, it drove the discorporated souls into a turmoil of fright and anger, causing disturbance and upset among the clansmen as their dreams were filled with sorrow and torment.
Realizing that their only alternative was to leave this place where the disturbed spirits wandered, they gathered the remaining soulcatchers and placed them deep within a womb of stone in a nearby mountain where, they hoped, the spirits bonded to them would find peace.
Years later, the cache of soulcatchers was discovered, passed around to various museums and archeologists, and then deemed to be worthless as they did not carbon date back far enough to be part of any major historical value. However, their intricate craftsmanship sparked intrigue in many and they were purchased by a small scattering of collectors. As time went on, the soulcatcher relics changed hands again and again, being bought and sold, until many were lost in the shuffle or ended up on unassuming antique mall shelves.
What was further unrealized about these relics was that their influction of magic was still very much an acting beacon to other passing wayward spirits and souls. As the dragon clan that had crafted them was a small one and far from any other sort of civilization, this problem had not arisen.
In the case of Talon and Yeande's birth, the best guess as to what had happened was that two respective soulcatchers had attracted outside souls from deceased humans (or humanoids, at least). The inhabiting souls of the relics grew defensive and attempted to fend them off as the outsiders fought to stay. The struggle of two souls' energies awakened and overloaded the infused magic of the soulcatcher, causing it to supernova in a sense.
The relic was destroyed and, as its magic dispersed, it locked the two combating souls together, forming one living being of them that remembered nothing of who it was in either life.
What does Ijiuo mean? The name Ijiuo is a mingling and bastardization of two words from the wyrm dialect: "Jisgi" (lost one or wanderer) and "Indeluo" (magic...or pertaining to magic). Roughly, if you squint, that makes the word Ijiuo mean "magical lost one"
What types of dragon are/were Talon and Yeande? Respectively, Yeande's draconic bits are drawn from a mountain wyrm and Talon's are drawn from a blue ollipiest.
