now I've been talking to frineds reading forums and articles and I can't understand (even when I went throught it myself) Why the thought of suicide is more inticing than life! YES life may blow. YES your feelings are out of control but, NO suicide should not be the "Last" resort! Its like the person who is attempting to commit suicide is not regarding how other peolpe will respond! EVEN when they think that there is no one out there who loves them...there is stil one improtant person! GOD! for goodness sake!
Its painful and makes non sense to me! SOOO maybe Lethkhar you can clear this up! I would really appericate it more then 3 people talk! because my friend is to that point!

I'm not entirely sure what you want me to clear up. confused Not all atheists are suicidal, you know. lol
Life sucks, you think you'd prefer whatever you believe happens to you after you die, so you kill yourself. I don't see what the confusion is. confused

I don't see what the confusion is. confused I didn't want to single you out! its just I wanted to get your opinion on it! (or lack there of)

Yeah, it sucks for the families. Suicide is horribly selfish and you would probably regret it if you could think afterwards. But whatever floats your boat...

Some people see no point to life. They don't see the great things God has done for them, and how much He loves them. Some have never been told because Christians tend to blend with the rest of society. I think though they see it as an easy way out. Not much work to it, people say it will solve your problems. It's so sad to see and hear about such sad lost souls.. Is there a reason for this topic? Should I be praying for someone?

One of this kids in my youth group's mom killed herself last Friday and it's been really hard on the whole family. I didn't really know any of them but I cannot even imagine how I would cope with it. The sad thing is statistically about 70% of people who attempt suicide and live say the regretted it right after they did it, which makes it even sadder for those who are sucessful.
One thing you have to consider is mental disorders such as bipolar and clinical depression. My friend was suicidal for about a year and was diagnosed with social anxiety and depression. She's much better now, but was in therapy and was a meds for about a year. I think most people who do attempt it are acting rashly- if they think it out they may not. Though those who don't believe in God may feel like there is literally no one who loves them.

Fushigi na Butterfly I think she meant in the case of suicide. For people who don't believe in anything it's hard to see that there is anyone who cares anything about them. Basically what she said. I should have explained myself better.

Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. Many of these people are experiencing depression in their lives, mabey they lost someone they love, or mabey they've just been through a whole lot. I'm pretty sure whoever committs suicide could have been helped.

If I was imprisioned and tortured somewhere without cause for decades, I would kill myself first chance I got.
In situations like that I can fully understand why you would want to end your life.

Well,the way I see it is,except for those who believe in reincarnation,most everybody's under the impression that you only get one go-'round. I would think you'd try to make the best of it,rather than "just get it over with".
If your friend is a Christian,then they should understand that ending their life is throwing God's gift back in his face. If not,you might just want to try and convince him of the first one.

From someone who has personally thought about committing suicide I can tell you that to usually those thoughts come up after you feel youve lost everythingg... like there's no reason to go on.. sometimes it's also brought on by the feeling of not deserving to be alive... I thought about committing suicide one time after getting into a huge fight with my best friend.. i said some pretty cruel things to him and afterward I felt horrible and like i didnt deserve to live because what I did to him... I never attempted suicide because of my faith in God and the thought of standing in front of Him after.. The most you can do for a suicidal person is to let them know youre there and to pray for them... Continually tell your friend that if they ever feel like ending their life to call you no matter what time it is.. be ready to talk on the phone with them for hours on end.. or even go to their house and keep their mind off it... if they know someone is there caring for them suicide wont be quite as easily exercised... believe me... it's a lot easier when you know someone cares...
