This is a poll asking how you feel that things with Japanese text in anime, such as signs, books, and labels, should be translated in anime DVDs.

You know I like them in english which is translated, but some people could like it in Japanese so I'd say if you choose translation on or off

Nothing pisses me off than signs, or text in anime that isnt translated. I think Paranoia Agent had this problem on adult swim, alot of people complained that they be translated....Adult Swim actuallychanged it so that the later epsides are...

It ruines the experience when you cant understand whats going on

I'm perfectly fine with Japanese signs. But that's probably because I learn the language, so anyway I can understand them. biggrin I checked translation on/off, because some people would like it better to have everything translated.

Left alone, with translation nearby. I like to know what the signs say, but I also like looking at the original Japanese signs. They look funky.

Left alone with translation nearby. Because it feels more genuine, but you can still know what they say. biggrin

The translations of signs should either not be touched, with side translation, or optional on disc. It's bad enough that those that get aired go through a dose of cuts anyhow so why should the signs be tampered by a digitized English Translation?

I've never had a problem with signs, unless they are important to the story, but I usually figure it out.

Depends... Sometimes I want to see text editted into English, sometimes I'll grab a book or go on my computer and translate it myself.

I like it when the DVD has the option to translate signs and voices or just voices.

it looks better left alone, but i do get curious about what it means.

i suspect much of the time its just product placement, like an ad for chewing gum or something

Just adding subtitles to the bottom of the screen is good enough.

I like the option to Translate it or not... and if so also have the options if it's not transalted to have subtitles... that would be nice because sometimes it's funnier in Japanese with subtitles rather than the actual Translated full english version...
