I love to not know what the Hell is going on in my previews.

Something that confuses me so much, I need to see what the scene was about.

I like my anime previews as music videos. They're oddly attractive. o.o

I like something with a music video. Either explaining the plot or just random scenes, it doesn't matter to me.

I really don't like narrating that much.

I agree, it just intrigues you so that you end up watching it even if you didn't want to. Well at least I do sweatdrop .

OMG, now this topic is fecking vital. It HAS to be without dialog OR SOUNDS! Gun fire and the like cheepen a trailer to s**t. An AMV with preview monolog is fine, works well with epic anime (Ghost In The Shell, Akira, X all the big hitters).

If it comes down to it it HAS to be an AMV. There is far more style, without the consetent spoilers. If it has SFX over the top, i will instantly NOT BUY IT (Blitz Tactics for exsple).

This is a far more immortant issue than it seems.

I'll have to agree with Minami_of_Keys & Kiramiko. If i see an preview for an anime that i don't understand i will want to watch it evem more to see what it was about.

Wile I get a bit manic on this topic, im glad you guys feel the same way.

If you could have seen my face when I saw the Hellsing AMV trailer (on End Of Eva, witch i had to get from the states a year before it came out over here). The shear power that rather simple trailer, if a picture says a 1000 words, think what an AMV can do?

Well, I don't know if I'd personally use the term AMV to describe it, as they're usually set to music from the series while AMVs as most people know them are a series (or many) set to other music. I guess it's still an anime music video, but it's not really in my eyes, as they usually use neither the full song (because that'd be either a 1:30 trailer or a 4:00+ trailer.)Regardless, it's just a difference in terminology.

I think that the type of trailer depends on the content of a series. For shounen/action/mecha/etcetera, you need it to be eye catching and attention grabbing. The best way to do that is to, in addition to maybe a few pieces of dialogue or snippets of text, have awesome action scenes to grab the viewer's attention. For more subdued series, it'd be better to show just some scenes, possibly with quiet music in the background. I'd associate that as more of a tactic for thinks like shoujo series. Then you've got the comedy, which can take a multitude of approaches, but should strive to be funny regardless. All in all, like I said, it depends on who you're appealing to and what you're trying to get across.

I like the music video with the radom scences but I also like it when it is the opening of the series some times.... I don't know why but I love watching openings for different types of series.

i guess if i had to choose one i'd go with the music video with random scenes from the series... besides it's best not to know what's going on ^_^

I like music with random scenes, due to the fact that I enjoy listening to the music.
