Rules and Regulations
[1] No Almighty Characters. You are not God, and your character also cannot be God. ( I am not discounting God-like powers here, within reason mind you. )
[2] Characters must take damage - if you are hit, you get hurt. I'm sorry kids but if someone blows a hole through your stomach, you're going to be in some pain and have less energy. Also, if you use your magic/powers/whatever for an extended period of time, you WILL get tired. No one has an endless source of energy. If, for some reason, you DO happen to have seemingly limitless energy, please come up with a logical reason why this is so.
[3] To second that, no faulting. You can make an attack, you can't say whether or not it hits.
[4] Attempting to dodge anything that is impossible to dodge results in stupidity. Try and fail, but at least try to save yourself some dignity.
[5] Keep it PG-13, you need to be focusing on your character than that stuff anyway.
[8] Don't try to pass off other people's copyrighted characters as your own. Original characters must be your creation and your creation alone.
[9] Guess what. Your character cannot just suddenly wake up one day and be able to throw supersonic pitches of noise, levitate something etc. Abilities don't show up overnight or without purpose. If there is no visible reason for gaining a new ability, then you can't have it.
[10] Your character cannot just "know" what's going to happen. This includes sixth-sense "Oh my GAWD, they're going to kill Kenny!" type things as well. You can't know what you haven't been told. This includes the use of Telepathy (for mind-reading purposes). No Telepathy unless agreed on by all involved.
[11] You know it, you want it and you've got it - it's called a keyboard. Use it. When you type your entry we have some rules. No short hand...."u" is not a word. Punctuation must be used correctly. If you can't put forth the effort to type decently then you shouldn't be in this group in the first place. We'd appreciate your posts being over a paragraph long (four to six sentences at least), but shorter posts are okay occasionally. We all know that you can't always think of a million things to say and do.
[12] Hey lovebirds. Keep it PG-13 and short. This RP isn't generally plotted around your relationship.
[13] If you join, try to be active, not only do you stall yourself but others as well.
[14] Always Post above your post where you are! Cannot stress this enough, people don't need to be looking for where you are. This brings less focusing to posting; the more someone has to look, the less they're posting.
In an Example of This, I
[Third floor, middle of hallway with so and so]
My character does the electric slide, and suddenly feels the need to blurb out, "TREE!!" at the top of his lungs!
My character does the electric slide, and suddenly feels the need to blurb out, "TREE!!" at the top of his lungs!
[15] Please try to keep spelling mistakes to a minimum, Use spell check, we hate bad grammar.
[16] NO Clones.
[17] For the love of all that is holy [or unholy if you're into that sort of thing] please do NOT post a multitude of small little snippet posts as if you were Messenger RPing. Fast paced posting is great for some, but not everyone can keep up. Try to keep your posts to a decent length. We're not talking multi-paragraph posts [though that's certainly ok], but atleast one decent paragraph rather than just three lines.
[18] No shirt? No shoes? No problem!
[19] Last but not least, we have total control. In other words: we own your a**. If you break the rules repeatedly, you may get kicked out. We set easy-to-follow rules and it doesn't take much of an effort to follow them. We reserve the right to remove players from the RPG for any reason whatsoever. If we feel that you are affecting the other players negatively, continue to refuse polite requests and just generally piss us off by not doing anything by the rules then you're gone. Like it or not, in this world [And in this thread] we are God.
