Does anyone own/use a Motorola Razr?

I would like to know if it is a decent phone.

We just got new phones this weekend too, but went with Nokias again. Jason's mom likes flip phones, and hers is the Motorolla Razr, I think, and she's not had problems with it or any other phone, and she uses it A LOT!

Personally, I don't like that more and more phones nowadays are starting to have buttons on the side because I always accidentally push them when I'm trying to just HOLD the phone, and the thinner they get, the harder they are to hold too, imo. I thought about getting myself a Jitterbug, those bigger phones that are easier to hold with the big ol' number buttons and displays on them for old people. rofl

I have a motorola cellphone something along these lines: User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

I opted *not* to get the razr because it didn't fit in my hand securely and it just seemed not to be as durable as the one I did get... but I'm concerned about kids knocking it out of my hands at every possible opportunity and sending it bouncing across the parking lot .... Of the razrs specifically, I've not heard much one way or the other about durability or overall complaints/compliments. Good luck & enjoy whichever phone you do decide upon.

Thank you to those who have responded.

I chose a Nokia 6133 after hearing how much it would cost to upgrade to the Razr. (only costing me $25 for this one) I was mostly hoping to go with the Razr because my car charger and data cable for my v360 would have worked with it. I had a Nokia bar phone since last Thursday, but missed the ability to email myself ringtones and take pictures, so I traded that one up. Now I will be with T-Mobile for a little while longer, but it's not like I was planning on leaving. I have not switched for close to ten years.

I personally use the Motorola i530 because it's nice, simple, and practically indestructable. Just my two cents.

I have a razr and it's OK.

I like how thin it is and that it's pink and a flip phone - but honestly I don't think I would get any motorola phone - they have problems and aren't as durable as nokia, lg, and other brands.

i have a sumsung and that's pretty durable. i'm careful with it but it has been dropped a few times sweatdrop onto a tiled floor too, but it didn't suffer thankfully, the back comes off and goes flying across the room because it contains the battery and is heavier, but the screen has survived nicely.but mine is quite a robust model, some nokias are quite flimsy i think.

I have a Samsung and a friend of mine has a magenta razr. I'm glad I have what I do because I think the razr is a little flimsy and I'm very clumsy so my phone has hit the floor more than once and has also survived my 7 year old getting chocolate and other general goo on it.

I also have a Samsung and I really like it. My boss has a Razr and has many problems with it. Of course he probably wouldn't if he would stop letting clients have his number and he getting mad for phone calls in the evening and throwing his phone against the wall....lol.

LOL!! maybe he needs a rubber case for it then lol

mobile phone manufacturers need to rethink their strategies, if these things were designed by women they'd be machine washable 3nodding

You don't realize how true that statement is!!!

My mom is the world's worst at "washing" her phones. Our carrier at the time cancelled our insurance on the phones because mom reported hers and had to have it replaced due to water damage... 3 times. eek And now just a few days ago she washed another phone... so now we have to buy a new phone for her rofl I really thought she learned that lesson the first 3 times!

Now me... with the girls grabbing my phone and my clumsiness (I can't spell today anyway rolleyes ) my phone is holding out surprisingly well. I do like how hearty the nokia phones are... that's what I had before this one and it fell on an asphalt parking lot and only got a small scratch... and I think the battery door came off but it snapped right back on. The one I have now is a Motorola W315 flip phone and it is nice. I haven't dropped this one though but it seems pretty sturdy considering it just floats around in my purse. But the only thing I don't like about motorola is the itty bitty small screen. But the features and call quality make up for it.

I have always wanted a razr... but I haven't been able to afford it. Now they're almost free and I'm on prepaid rolleyes (which is considerably cheaper by the way 3nodding ) Now all these manufacturers are pretty much copying motorola with different types of "extreme slim" phones. rofl
