Usually the manga is left untouched as far as edits go- since it's not on mainstream television, it has a leg up on anime that way :3.

(And happy happy day! The manga store I go to PROMISED that they'll sell EVERY Tokyopop title. ...Hey, they sold FAKE Volume 7. ^_~)

All I can say is, 'oh great, another manga for tp to slaughter with their awfull translations and print quality.' rolleyes Del Ray should have picked up the rights to it instead of tp. They do a better job than tp. :sigh: Ah well, at least the fanbase should pick up more.

Really, I'm rather happy about them picking it up. It's probably the manga I wanted to be liscensed the most, since it's rather good and the lack of scanlations made me cry.
And there are probably better companies than TokyoPop, but at least it wasnt Viz xp

*shrugs* Print quality has never really bothered me, and my Japanese still really sucks, so I can't say anything about the accuracy of translations. My problem with Viz has been that they irk a lot of pet peeves. I'm not quite sure why, but I get vibes from them that they still think the manga fanbase is 95% 12 and under.
I just flipped through some of my PoT, Yami no Matsuei, and Angel Sanctuary manga, and I didn't see a single honorific. And, I caught Ryuuzaki-sensei calling Tezuka "Kunimitsu" stressed Not to mention their lovely whiting out in YnM.
I'm pretty sure TokyoPop has been better with these things. Thinking back to Gravitation, they were much better with the name/honorific thing. I was able to get that even though Shuichi loves Yuki, he's still Yuki, not Eiri, to him.
I guess with TokyoPop I'm just relieved that new fans will be able to pick up little things like Ritsuka calling Soubi simply "Soubi" even though he's older, and Soubi calling him "Ritsuka-kun" even though they just met. I'm glad I don't have to worry about something like Soubi going "Ritsuka-kun" on one page, and yelling out "Aoyagi" on the next.
And, I'm not trying to argue. You're absolutely right, the best thing to buy is the raws. But, given that I can't read Japanese yet, I'm happy with what I've got 3nodding

Personally I think TokyoPop is one of the better choices to liscence Loveless. They don't do THAT bad of a job.
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they do translations for King of Hell and maaaaybe Saiyuki...? I don't think they do Saiyuki....but whatever. They have some nice translations and they don't only limit themselves to Japanese Manga. Which is good too that they have variety and all that.
Besides why complain? We should be thankful that it's even coming to America and or other countries. =D 3nodding 3nodding 3nodding

Actually TehChrnoWenchYaoi Tokyopop does the translations for Saiyuki i've read most and seen most of it but moving on. I'm actually glad i'd rather Tokyopop then anything else, Loveless does suit the theme Tokyopop produces. Viz is more guy-girl romance (i forgot what that's called in jap) and the people that make like Tsubasa, Negima, Gundam Seed etc doesn't really suit the animation.
I personally can't wait for it to come out! i'm so excited!

scream *kills Viz quite horribly* am I the only one who reads Shonen Jump? does anyone remember that they changed Zoro's name to Zolo half way through the manga?? crying I think I would have actually get to conspiring against Viz if they wanted to liscence Loveless...
but I think tokyopop's pretty good...I like Broccoli over it, but they're rather small in comparison to tokyopop... >.>
