This band plays good good folk metal, and they sing about pirates. They recorded a cover of Korpiklaani's 'journey man' and very well performed. Check them out here

I thought they were more Power Metal than Folk Metal??

Yeah, I know, but it falls into 'folk' category, because they play folk... simple like that. Without the accordions and flutes it would be only power, but it's Power/Folk Metal.

My Hollow what do you think of Sword's song? Did you check the site I attached? I'm talking about a different band. That's why you didn't agree they were folk metal. This is Battleheart from UK. You are thinking of Battleheart from Holland.

oohhh battleheart i was thinking of Battlelore. I am a little delerious right now. I have been up most of the night with one of the worst sicknesses i have ever had and drugs aren't helping. Sorry i got them confused.

You'll usually find bands that play mainly folk, but under a complete subgenre, like folk power metal, folk death metal, folk black metal. Without the folk scales, accordions and more folk elements, battleheart would be plain power metal.

Without the folk scales, accordions and more folk elements, battleheart would be plain power metal. im probably wrong but im pretty sure just having accordions and flutes in your music doesnt specifically make your music Folk......it sound like pure Power to me with perhaps some Folk influences......this thread would have made more sense in the Power Metal subforum then the Folk, but i couldnt care less, either way i enjoy the bands music.
