I went over to a family friends' for dinner for Chinese New Year. Their daughter (a friend of mine) made me realize that I was totally un-asian. I'm not into asian pop culture at all, I don't know celebs, and I suck at photoshop. It's enough to convince me... emo
What about you? Are you still asian or have you been white-ified?

Im not sure what you mean, are you saying that you are asain but your friend says you don't look like one? That it? I'm 85% Asian, and nobody can mistake that, I don't care about celebs or photoshop. Thats kinda a 'put down' thnig is she means it... Are you asain thoe?

I mean like personality-wise. Like, I know a lot of Chinese and Japanese people love pop culture, and always know stuff about it. Especially music. I'm not into any of that stuff. I don't dress like an asian, speak like an asian, have hobbies or talents like an asian. My mom calls me a banana cuz I'm white inside and yellow outside
Yes, I'm 100% pure un-diluted Chinese.

I don't see how your personality is affected by your ethnicity...nor do I see how using photoshop has to do with being Asian...But me being Korean...You being Chinese...That only defines on what you are...Who you are cannot be labeled by blood or skin tone.

I don't know how asian should dress like... O.o I'm 100% asian. I agree, I think you're just stereotyping yourself. I don't really get it. I do have photoshop and it has nothing to do of being asian. My non-asian friends has photoshop too. I do not know what kind of hobbies or talents like an asian. O.o

You can get Photoshop if you make Linux your OS.......PM me if interested........but it changes the whole way your computer looks......

Look, it doesn't matter whether you're good or bad at Photoshop, you're not into Asian pop culture, or Asian celebrities. I agree with everyone in this thread when they say that you're stereotyping yourself.
Even if you did not know anything about your cultural background and/or live with a completely Westernized lifestyle, it wouldn't matter. You can even live a life completely devoid of any sign of your Asian background, and I'll STILL consider you Asian.

Many Filipinos, myself included, have adopted a very westernized culture influenced by the Spanish and Americans, but I don't think it makes us less Asian.
