Finntroll is a folk metal band from Finland. They combine black metal and Finnish polka, called humppa. Although it is a Finnish band, Finntroll's lyrics are in Swedish, because Swedish just sounds "damn trollish", according to the band's first vocalist, Katla.
I bought Nattfödd this summer and i wasn't dissapointed. I actually pruchased the cd thinking that they were Battlelore, so imagine my suprise when i put in the cd and here black metal infused with polka instead of power metal. rolleyes Not one of my finer moments in life i must admitt. I do enjoy listening to the cd.

i heard one of their songs over the summer and it was quite different then any other metal bands i had ever heard before. i really liked it though, i actually went out and bought the Nattfödd aswell a few weeks after hearing them.

the song i heard from that album was Trollhammaren but after buying the cd i liked all of it although i think my favorite still is Trollhammaren or perhaps Eliytres 3nodding

Yes, i was thinking Trollhammaren myself. I think it is the most well recieved song of theirs, if i am not mistaken.

I like Finntroll lots. I have Nattfodd and do also enjoy the sounds of Trollhammaren, as well as Ursvamp.

i really like the black metal infused with polka idea... it's weird to think about, but once you hear it, it's awesome.
the only cd i own is ur jordens djup, but i've listened to several others. they were all really good.
what do people think of the new singer? i was talking to another guy who hated the new singer, but i think the new singer is pretty good, though he has a different style than the old one.

I think hes pretty good, I like the old one better but meh. But what I dont like is that they pretty much lost all of their polka influences and are even closer to black metal now. neutral
