Lamyae lay at the edge of a pond, her bottom half submerged in the water and from mid torso up she was caked in mud. She looked like a moving golem, her eyes blinking occasionally. She had circled the pond, but in her delirious state had not checked for any predators. She was spooked by a stamping rhino and ended up lying in the mud.

The dazed look spread across her face was enough to suggest she wasn’t in her right mind but it wasn’t enough to suggest how far she really was. She thought that the goddess, Anga’fisi, was disappointed in her and was coming to take her away to scold and belittle her. After all the young hyena wasn’t fit to be a leader.

Oh no! She'd lost Sunny, she had- and now she was all alone again. The world was once again terrifying and she had no one willing to let her hide behind them now, and she needed to find him again. There were so many strange sounds and creatures around, and the hare knew not to kid herself into thinking all of them were friendly.

Cheshi did not know where she was going to go, or how she was going to find Sungura again, but she was not keen on the trip to wherever she decided to try! With a deep breath, she emerged from some protective shadows- slowly at first and then picking up speed. She didn't even realize how close she was to water, or to a strange hyena.

The white moving creature did not go unnoticed in Lamyae's line of sight. Her muscles tensed and her eyes unfocused and refocused...was this an apparition? Something the Goddess had sent for her to talk to?

"You! Yonder Ghost, what are you doing here?" Her voice was choppy and irregular, she was usually very good at preaching to others, her voice smooth and graceful, "What say you, speak!"

Cheshi heard a voice call out to her, a very strange and scary sounding voice. She would have tried to ignore it, were she not already so frightened that the added tension caused her to stumble and ultimately fall over. Her first was to curl up protectively, something altogether pointless in the fight against predators but nevertheless something she did. She was a fair distance from the hyena, and she glanced towards her anxiously.

"W-what do you want?" she called out in a shrill voice, inching her way from plain sight to whatever was the nearest source of shelter. Shade, bushes.. she needed something!

"I wanted to know why you are here, that is all...an unusual color for a hare, arn't you?" the golem-like Lamyae's dusty eyes dashed back and forth unfocused. This little creature must be a sign from the goddess...right?

"Why has the mother sent you here..?" Are you there mother? Lamyae prodded outward with her mind hoping to feel the familiar and terrifying feel of the voice of the goddess within her mind. All she got was silence, "I am Lamyae, daughter of the great mother, who are you?" She should have tested the waters, the hare probably had a direct link to the goddess! Oh dear, without the guidance of the voice Miss Lamyae seems to be throwing caution to the wind. She flicked her tail back and forth in the water agitated.

Cheshi was not really listening to the terrifying muddy-dog-creature that was talking to her as she looked around anxiously for somewhere to hide. She'd gotten about half way between two good sources of shelter, where she'd started and where she'd hoped to head. Otherwise, the area was fairly open.

"N-no! I'm not unusual!" she cried defensively, not wanting to be made fun of again. She might have come to trust Sunny, but this thing looked far too scary to even consider it. "I- I- don't know what you're talking about," she whined, not daring to go any closer so she could stop shouting but always looking around anxiously as if expecting to be attacked at any moment standing where she was. Cheshi didn't introduce herself, only shook her head and backed up a little.

"You are too most unusual, you're pure white! Why don't you get in the mud with me?" she cackled happily. It never crossed her mind once that this little frightened creature wasn't some sort of threat, she obviously was.

"Come now, I swear on my soul that I would never eat you," she smirked, "besides... I only eat rotting flesh." she had stolen that line from Erevu, a male she had found her self smitten with..but he didn't seem to have the same sentiment for her.

Cheshi frowned at the hyena when she continued to argue that the hare was unusual, and even started to laugh. Everyone seemed to laugh at her- or maybe it was just those that were really dark. If she'd not seen more dark creatures than she'd seen light creatures, she might have tried accusing them of being the ones who were unusual. She just gave Lamyae a strange look when she tried to lure her into the mud- and she suspected her of trying to trick her so she could eat her. Lam's next declaration only strengthened her suspcions.

"N-no! I'll stay here," she whimpered, inching away farther. She definetely looked like she was about to flee, as soon as she got an opening.

"Come, come, little one. I am just a hyena, and a peaceful one at that. I am the alpha female of the Mwangaza movement, we love and allow all creatures to join," her voice was still not that of the happy preacher but more of the voice of a deranged zionist.

She stood slowly the mud making a 'shluck' sound as she peeled herself from it. Her dark dusty eyes flashing anger that the white creature was not going to stay awhile, if little Cheshi ran, she would run after her.

Cheshi was skeptical of the hyenas words, even outright believing it to be a lie. Even from a distance, the hare could see the sharp teeth in the hyena's mouth- not to mention the crazy tone of voice went poorly with it. She made another whining sound, able to see that if she ran, she was going to be persued. However, as she saw it, she had a better chance trying to run than sticking around.

And so, without another sound, the little hare turned around completely and darted. She wanted to get away, and this was how she was going to try it.

The muddied golem hyena stretched gingerly and then started to take off after the little hare, persuing the creature the best she could. But, in the state of mind the awkward hyena was in she stummbled and and shook violently as she moved.

"Come back, the mother is angry, I know she is, you must tell me! Tell me what she sent you for!?" Lamyae huffed loudly and continued her lumbering movements.

The terrified little hare had no idea what the hyena was rambling on about, but she was determined to get out of there. She was able to get a pretty good headstart, heading in a direction she had already a fair lead in and the fact she was not burdened with mud or using her breath to speak.

Cheshi did one thing wrong, though, and she looked back to see if she was being followed. This was a mistake, for it cost her her footing and she tumbled to the ground.

In the moments it took the hare to fall the bumblng hyena closed in qutie a bit of he distance between them, she may be in a horrible state but she was still light on her feet.

"Stop! Just Stay down!" she huffed, the effects from sitting to running starting to take their tole on her breathing and she started to pant. Panting as she was the muddy hyena had closed most if not all the space between them. She thought it odd that she was pure black adn the creature before her pure white, a good versus evil coincidence?

Cheshi was a bit disoreinted by her tumbling, and attempted to right herself- only to find that the hyena had caught up with her. She yelped, and made another effort to escape- rolling to the side and trying to run back, and then turning sharply to the side. However, between the fear, the tumble and the turning, she only found herself getting dizzy and laying on the ground once again.

This was not going to end well! She curled up into a little ball, trying to catch her breath and steady her mind.

Lamyae rushed forward and placed a paw on either side of the young hare's body, "all you had to do was stay put and talk to me..all you had..hmm..should you be punished?" she growled down at Cheshi, her breath rancid and stale. "all you had to do.." she trailed off cackling madly. She loomed down on the pale hare her nose inches from it's face.
