Stretching her silvery-white and chocolate brown matted-paws out before her. The young average sized pup opens her glossy golden eyes. Her tongue curls when the small jaw opens to let out a dramatic yawn and then Alina's ears twitch.
Standing and still stretching from the restless sleep from the night before. A growl escapes the staving stomach and realization hits her mind instantaniously.
"Grrr..." Alina mutters with a roll of her eyes and then the black nose began to sniff the air for anything. "Another day of searching. I hope I can find a pack soon or atleast find some decent food." This she grumbled and padded through the thickets.

O[br] O[br] O[br] Patches was neither alpha or omega, dog nor wolf. He was the species that ranged someplace inbetween. The grey of society the creature that somewhat held the two ranges together. It was these thoughts that drew a small smirk over his maw.
With his white paws padding over the grassy knoll that seamed to droan on before him; he really didn't have a direction he was going. Frankly whereas others would have some sort of plan it was more the less where ever his body took him.
With the smirk continueing to grow, he started to walk towards the direction that the young pup was starting to bustle in. He had some feeling that something was there but with his carefree outlook on life he'd continue to walk that way no matter the outcome, good or bad.

As her paws fell, as only a reckless pups would, they stilled. Scrunching up her face the eyes looked towards the other figure moving towards her. The pup squared herself up to face the figure.
Though she wasn't large or even old enough to think like an adult. She looked at the black and white figure with a red thing around their neck. "Who are you?" Alina's voice soft, but because of her age and not fear. For she hadn't learned the word with her personality.

The bi-colored creature looked down at the pup he had just encountered. He had no emotion on his maw neither good or bad. Frankly he was quite indifferent to the pup; it was this calm that he hoped passed to the one who stood infront of him, because unless the other showed him signs of agression he wouldn't need to show his true colors. He supposed this way of looking at life was more passed threw his domesticated side; because his wolf side probally would have seen the other more as a nusiance.
"I'm Patches." The canine said more in the tone of an elder that had seen many years.
"And who might you be child?"

Alina's ears perked up and tilted her head to the side as if watching his deamenor for a moment. Her tail wagged with an unknown excitement and her light golden-carmel eyes gleamed with couristy. With the tone of the two-toned adult spoke to her with, the chocolate pup figured he deserved the respect that would come to this one.
To answer Patches question, she spoke in a respectful tone that her mother had taughter her to use at a super young age. "I'm Alina, Sir." Her head rightened back up and her tail slowed abit as she replied.

The wolfdogs maw seamed to quiver into a slight smile before returning to it's once placid state. It wasn't to often you saw a respectful wolf pup- let alone any child in these days. Most were just scrappy and attempted to harass the elders for what they wanted. The pup was different though, and it was this thought alone that had brought the slight smile to the canid's face not to long ago.
"So tell me-" He continued on with a slight bit of concern.
"Why are you all alone?"

Alina thought she had seen a very small smile meet the adult's light maw, but she didn't say anything. Instead his question hit her like an angry moose plowing through the forest at full speed. Though she was rambunctious, a clutz and respectful she didn't really care for her family much.
"I'm by myself because that was the situation at my abandoned family den anyways, Sir." Down casting her carmel eyes a memory made her growl lowly to herself, but still mildly audioble to those around her.

With his ears picking up on her low auidable growl he desided not to push the issue. He understood that when it came to family it was best to leave matters where it stood. And though he knew the agression wasn't towards him, there was something that troubled him greatly about it. As it brought about the memories of his own unhappy childhood.
"Well we can't have you wandering about alone child..." He spoke slowly and calmly as if there was nothing but complete trust and care in his voice.
"I'll invite you to join me if it suits your liking." He again spoke slower then before not wishing to push the issue if she didn't want the company. He wouldn't care either way.

She looked up to Patches, thankful he wasn't pressing the matter behind her, and her eyes returned back to there youthful-happy carmel color.
Though the thoughts behind her eyes seemed to stay as she studied the adult's yellow ones. It didn't take a genious to know a lone wolf was a dead wolf and being a medium sized pup as herself the odds were against the young one. With a defiant snort at her back log of short memories, Alina nodded her head up and down.
"It makes logically sense for me to do so. If I don't I'll be dead in a few weeks if I don't find more substaining food on my own." Vultures had been her allies for the last couple weeks since she had started this endless journey. Alina looked at the 'elder', "I'll go with you as long as you want me to, Sir."

The Bi-wolf looked down at the pup with mixed emotions. More from the aspect that he wasn't really sure what to do with the little one being he had no family of his own. Other then that he was quite greatful, he now wouldn't die a lonely old dog like he feared most of his life. With his eyes growing stone cold again it seamed the fire he'd obtained for a few seconds had been quickly put out.
"I'll teach you how to survive. I'm not sure how much more I can offer other then that."
It was true with his age he probally couldn't defend himself agaist another wolf; and it wasn't like he would anyway. He was strictly agaist violence. Even if he was going to suffer death at another animals jaws, he'd still accept his fate and die. Though it wasn't that he didn't have any life left in his body; he still retained much of his youthful speed and agility it was just he went threw life more 'waste not want not'.

Alina tilted her head to the side, this elder was a character really. One moment it seemed like he had warm thoughts the next he was dead to the world surrounding him. Her ears stood out overly exaggeratedly as she listened to his proposition.
"I'll gladly take the lessons in survival. Right now I have scavanging down to a T." she mummered in her soft voice. "Then once I'm big enough to I'll help you out. I'll return any favor for this kindness." She was dead serious, though the words sounded untrue on her small tongue. The klutzy little pup would try what she could to return the favor. Weither Patches wanted it or not.

The elder nodded his head as he looked down at the oddly marked pup. At her age he was getting meals out of platters from humans and sleeping by warm fires. The smirk seamed to grow on his face at the fond memories; but alas all memories are not good and he could remember his first taste of freashly killed sheep. Though it was good he knew his days as a pet were gone and he had done the one sin that no dog could be forgiven of; disobeying master. And it was that day that he ran off from the humans world knowing only mixed emotions about his wilder side.
"It's very simple; but you must promise me never to take more then you need to survive..."

"I'm a small pup. I don't think I can kill anything much bigger then myself." She squeaked at the suddenly odd image of a moose laying dead at her feet. Then shaking her head the image of a squirrel or a raccoon became more visable, and logical in her head.
She had noticed Patches far off look so didn't speak while he seemed to hike down memory lane. Her tail was still as she straightened up her head and waited with building courisity to what more this elder was going to share with her.

The old dog nodded at the pup in agreement, but he also knew inwardly that whatever you put your mind too you could do.
"And though I don't see you taking down carabu at your age- you shouldn't underestimate your own powers..."
He stood looking quite soild like a tree backing his own statement. It was then almost giddy like something had taken over him from inside, he felt some urge to actully see if he had anything still left in him. It had been a long time since he actully hunted something 'large' mostly his meals consisted of fish or scraps. Frankly now that he thought about it his diet wasn't any better then Alina's.
"Anyway you must be hungry. Why don't I give you your first lesson?"

Her carmel eyes watched the adult with more couristy then should have been needed. She couldn't get over the complexity that a bi-colored wolf-dog could give her. Her tail wagged at the prospect of something maybe larger then an unrecognizable meal of scaps.
"Teach away, Sir." she yiped happily and actually bounced up off of the ground. "Though I'll learn the meaning behind you're saying later." she muttered landing back on the ground with a good stationary stance. Alina's tail was now going nuts once more.
