Socks of Death

Sparkly Ladykiller

Viscal sat in silence and looked around the woods. The sun was shining on his scales, making them uncomfortably warm. He splashed water on them and suceeded in getting all the trees very wet. He snorted disaprovingly at himself. He glared around, getting ready to sulk off and find a shady spot to hide in, when he spotted something in the distance. It looked like another dragon, but he couldn't be sure, one thing was for sure, he wasn't going to be caught by it.

Viscal clawed his way up one of the soaking wet trees and watched the ground below him. He growled, wondering what had decided to bother him. It looked like a green dragon with blue feet, but he really wasn't sure. He poised so he could drop a lot of water on the other dragons head if it proved to be a threat to him.

Ayvia quietly stepped through the wooded area, heading towards the rivershore to get a drink and a place to rest. The sunlight shimmering through the branches felt wonderful on her scales and the breeze cooled what grew too warm; today was perfect in her mind.

Finally reaching a small clearing near the river, she paused at the sight of the soaked tree trunks around her. Being cautious, she carefully stepped foreward while keeping an eye out for anything in the shadows.

Viscal splashed the water down onto Ayvias head as she walked under his tree, but Viscal also suceded in falling out of the tree, and missing the new comer by inches. He snorted, and glared at the new dragon, for he blamed her for his falling.

He jumped up quickly, so the other dragon once again would not catch him unaware, but after watching her for a moment he decided she was no threat to him, but to be on the safe side, he absorbed the water that had been splashed onto the trees, so he had somewhat of a weapon ready if she were to attack.

Viscal took a moment to look the female dragon over. She was green and blue, as Viscal had guessed from a distance, and was obviously a dragon, and not some hostile creature. Viscal also couldn't help but notice that she wore a band of metal around her leg and a gemstone on her forehead and chest. She also had blue feathers stuck onto her.

Ayvia let loose a shrill bellow as ice-cold water rained down from above, soaking her to the bone. She started to shake herself dry when the branches above started to crack, signaling a possible falling. Just as she darted out of the way, a light-blue dragon fell down, spraying mud on her and everything around it when it landed. Upset, she was about to give him a tounge lashing when the mysterious dragon got up and darted away from her, somehow drawing the water from the trees into his body.

Stepping back, she gave the male dragon a quick glance over. His colors seem to consist of a sea-green and light blue, even pale-yellow spots were lined up upon his neck and head. She cocked her head at the absence of any jewels or feathers on his body, it seemed to mark him as an un-bonded or wild dragon.

Viscal snorted at the female and used some of the water he had absorbed from the trees to cleanse his body of the mud. Viscal obviously had no problem with showing his power to other dragons. Viscal was still watching the other dragon.

"What are you, a humans pet?" He sneered at her, meaning the gemstones, feathers, and the like on her body.

Viscal snorted again, watching the other dragon, waiting for her reply, and also hoping she didn't kill him for saying that. Unless she was a humans dragon...then she might not attack.

"Domestic creatures these days," he muttered almost silently, hoping she wouldn't here him.

(Sorry for the long delay Socks!)

Ayvia watch with very little expression as the blue male cleansed himself of mud and grim with his magic....although, she was impressed with that particular display. His next comment is what struck a nerve....and tender one at that.

"Excuse me?! A humans' pet?!" She gave a snort in his direction, a thin waft of smoke drifting from her nostrils. "Although I willingly live alside humans, I am no ones' pet!"

((Nah, its fine!))

Viscal snorted and rolled his eyes.

"Well, your items upon you are a bit misleading, dear," he said in almost a mono-tone. "Then again, I have seen dragons completely covered in gemstones. Looks horrible. I don't suggest trying." He was now making an attempt for normal convorsation, but truthfully was failing horribly.

Okay....now this dragon was pushing her beyond the limit. Eyes narrowed in anger, she snapped at the air in front of his muzzle.

"Are you suggesting......?" She pressed her face about an inch from his own. An angry fire glittered in her eyes, clearing telling him the back off. "That I am nothing more than a pet?!"

"Aww, look! The caged bird is gathering up some courage!" Viscal relied in a mocking tone. He really needed to work on his social skills. "Now, if your a pet or not, that depends on if you have a human bound."

Viscal seemed like he was hving fun. He didn't normally hang around others. Females even less. He didn't know how to act. He took a few steps away from her face, but he still looked mocking.

Ayvia simply hissed at the male before turning around and made a move to walk off; as she turned, she purposely smacked him across the face with her tail. Stopping, she turned and smirked at him.

"Am I a caged bird now...?"

Viscal raised an eyebrow, or whatever the equivalent of raising an eyebrow for a dragon would be. He raised a claw to his face, noting how much it hurt. Who knew being slapped in the face hurt so much? He refrained from saying 'Okay, no little birdy, but a angry kitty!' as it would probably give him another slap across the face.

"Leaving so soon?" He asked childishly, "As you never really did answer my question. Do you have a dragon-bound?" He was pretty much ignoring the fact she was smirking and he'd just been slapped across the face now.

Ayvia turned and stared at him, her tail giving an absent-minded flick at his question.

"I was never leaving, you bonehead....and as for your question: Yes, I do have a bonded!"

Sitting down, she dug her claws into the soft earth; creating small trenches as memories filled her mind. She spoke is a low whisper:

"And if it weren't for her....I wouldn't even be here right now...."

Viscal was about to make some dark comment about humans, and something to back up his mistake that she was leaving. He covered his mistake up with a simple "I know darling..." and left the human comment in his head and let her continue. As uncarring as he may seem, he was intrigugged by the dragons next comment. He walked over and sat down beside her.

"What happened?" He asked softly.

She lifted her gaze to the sky, mind drifting back to the days of when she was a mear hatchling.

"From what I told.....my parents were killed when I was an egg. Then, a human healer took me in and hatched me with her own two hands."

Ayvia sighed and glanced at the male, "If she hadn't cared for me....I would've died before I was even born! Oh and....."

She swung her tail, smacking him not in the head, but in the side.

"That's for calling me 'darling'."

"I'm sorry dear..." He said before realising his mistake. He'd just been slapped in the side now for saying 'darling' and then he goes and says 'dear'. Wow! He was an idiot. Even he knew it.

Viscal took a few steps backwards, to get away from anymore slaps in the side or the head. The one in the side had hurt more than the one on his face for some reason he could not understand.

"Saying things grant me slaps? Intereasing..." Viscal mused aloud before a sudden splash of water dumped down on the females body.

"Oh, terribly sorry. Those were my inner tears for your story." He called over to her, smirking.
