Bright golden irises were focused on the clear blue sky as the ebon' spotted stallion limped along the dirt path that would lead him to his beloved, although there was more trepidation in his steps than he would care to admit. They had separated a couple days previous to break the news to their bonded on their own, and Kumori, needless to say, had not taken it well. She was mad as hell that after all the time on his own, healing from his broken heart, he would expose himself to the same mare that had destroyed him from the inside out not too long ago. After a shouting match with the lioness, she'd stalked off into the forest alone, claiming she needed time to vent. He hadn't seen her since.
A shaky sigh befell the stallion's lips as he continued on his path. Despite claiming that his feline friend was nothing but a nuisance to him, he cared for her more than he cared to admit, and her opinion mattered to him. That she hated Luna would not change his mind, but it made him sad. The thought of Amoena made him cringe at this point, since she would undoubtedly take it worse than Kumori had. He wasn't beyond expecting a few new injuries, in fact... he just hoped that wasn't the case. He was barely even on the mend from his previous wounds- and he didn't dare to think of what it might do to Luna, either. He just hoped beyond hope that he didn't have to worry about it.

Lunathiel lay on the blanketed floor of her two-leggers teepee her stomach once again showing signs of pregnancy. She had a feeling this time would be a lot easier on her not only because she had borne children before but also because she had meant to get pregnant this time. It wasn't like she didn't appreciate Kohana's support through the whole thing but she was much happier knowing she had wanted this.
Letting out a contented sigh she stretched out her long neck and snatched up an apple that Mushyn had left for her. Life was good or at least easier right now. If Xan or Dark were around she was allowed to go outside for a run unlike last time. She smiled at this but soon found worry seeping into her mind. Amoena had seen her stomach but she hadn't yet told her child who's children she carried this time. The young mare just seemed so troubled recently she didn't really want to add to it. Of course the longer she waited the more it weighed on her mind, she would have to spill the soup soon.
Sky blue eyes flicked about cautiously as Amoena made her usual rounds about the village. She didn't stop to talk to any horses she passed or to let any of the two-leggers touch her. It was all a waste of time. Right now she was only checking for Skinwalkers. What they had down to her mother was unforgivable and if she ever saw the one that had hurt Lunathiel so she would kill it. She didn't really know how yet but she would find a way when it came to be time.
As she rounded the bend her home came into view once again. The village was calm nothing to fret about other then the noise of a few crying two-legged children. "I'm back mom..." She said nosing into the teepee not noticing the black stallion approaching.

Shadow was still unaware of Luna's current pregnancy, although he had wanted it for so long, every sign pointed to the inevitable conclusion that he would be overjoyed at the news. His uneven steps faltered as he reached his destination, but heard a voice he'd not expected to encounter so soon... had Luna told her, yet? She didn't sound upset at the moment, but he had no doubt that it would change immediately after she realized his presence. Cringing visibly, he straightened, hissing in discomfort at the tug it afforded on his injuries, but stepped forward anyhow. It was now or never, he supposed, and if he would die, at least he would die with his dignity intact.
"Miss Luna?" he called out uncertainly, nosing at the edge of the teepee her scent was coming from. Something was off about her scent, though... was she ill? Concern flooded his thoughts as he took another step forward, itching to rush in and make sure his fears were unfounded and she was all right, but he knew Amoena was in there, and one false move in front of her could mean the end of his already significantly shortened lifespan.

Lunathiel's eyes widened and her ears flattened as she heard the all too familiar voice. She hadn't been expecting him and now was altogether too soon. There was no use hiding it now if she didn't speak up it was likely her daughter would kill him in front of her own eyes. "Come in Shadow." She said giving Amoena a nervous look. "Ame, please give me a few minutes t explain everything."
Amoena's ears flattened as well but for a completely different reason. She snorted angrily at the muzzle poking through the flap of a door. She had been certain she had taken care of him and yet he was here. "I told you not to come near her!!!" She made to leap outside and finish off the stallion until her mother interrupted.
She stared at her in disbelief. She was inviting him inside? She wanted him closer after he had caused her so much pain?! "Mom, what''re you doing?!" Her eyebrows were knitted together in confusion, shock and slight disgust. This was not how things were meant to go it was supposed to be easy. She got rid of him and her mom was happy. Now she was happy and pregnant and he was standing right outside!
Despite her visible anger she had to give into her wishes so she stepped away for the flap and circled to stand beside her mother. "This better be important..." She snarled at the ebony spotted male.
"Trust me Ame, it is. It's something you really should know." She smiled and looked back to the sort of floating muzzle. "Okay Shadow, you can come in now."

Cautiously, he pushed open the flap and limped inside, offering what he hoped was a placating grin towards Amoena. His gaze immediately alighted on his beloved with a bright smile, verifying that she was all right and not ill like he'd feared. Unfortunately, her position upon the dirt floor concealed her enlarged stomach from his view, but maybe that was for the best at this moment- clearly, Amoena had not been informed of his new status as her mother's significant other.
Despite his ruffled appearance, the continued evidence of unhealed wounds, and the filth that had accumulated on his coat from chasing Kumori through the forest, it was clear that the spotted stallion was happier than he'd been in a very long time. Molten gold irises rested lovingly on Luna's form before they rose to regard her daughter standing proudly beside her, and he hesitated as he fought to understand how she might take this news. He sent another questioning gaze towards Luna in silent askance of whether or not she wanted him to break the news to her daughter, or if she would have rather done it herself.

Amoena kept her piercing gaze locked on Shadow. He looked like he had been through hell in a hand basket and she really hoped he had. He would have deserved it for what he put her mom through. For now she kept quiet to hear whatever it was Lunathiel wanted to say.
In her mind the oceanic mare was having a hard time deciding what news she would brake first. She settled with standing to give Shadow a look at what she had been hiding. She smiled at him fondly trying to tell him it was exactly what it seemed like before turning to her daughter. "Amoena, you've seen my stomach. It's time you know why I'm like this." she took a deep breath trying to think of a way to convey this to her.
"I know that you hate Shadow. That you hate how he made me sad but that's just part of one state of being."She paused nibbling on her lip. She didn't like the look she was getting from Ame right now but it still needed to be said. "What I'm saying is, that I like Shadow. Well much more then like, it's more like love..." There, it was out. It was really up to Amoena now.
Amoena stood where she was. She didn't blink and she barely even breathed. What was she hearing? Her mom loved the one that hurt her? Her mom loved the one that she hated? Things weren't right. "You're joking..." She said her face falling eyes waving about in tiny darts to the left or right. Nothing was funny about it especially when her mother circled and rubbed her cheek up against his neck. "You were so mad at him! How can you just push everything aside like that?!"
Luna leaned up against Shadow and looked sadly at her daughter. Not as though she was mad but as though she really wanted approval. "Ame. Please. You have to see I'm happy now. Anger and sorrow, they're all part of it and as much as it hurt. It's better this way...please understand. I'm happy here, with him, and I'm having his babies because of it."

He couldn't seem to cease smiling at the mare he'd fallen for, although the moment she stood up, his breath caught in his throat, his eyes widened into saucers, and the ground dropped away from beneath his hooves. The prominent bulge in her stomach was easy to see, now, and there was only a moment of uncertainty before the fond look in her eyes made his doubts simply fall away. Slowly, an unsurmountable joy began to make itself known as a silly grin adorned his features, widening until it stretched from ear to ear. Were it not for Amoena's presence, he probably would have been jumping for joy, much like he had when Luna had admitted her love for him.
Although it was a challenge to rein in his indescribable happiness, he managed to forego embarassing himself in favor of offering his support to Luna, nuzzling her neck gently as she moved to stand beside him. Slowly, in wonderment, he bent to gently nose the protrusion of her stomach, simply trying to comprehend that his foals were in there. Closing his eyes as he pressed his cheek to her side briefly, he gave her a warm smile before turning his attention back towards Amoena once more. His gaze softened, taking on a more empathetic nature as he stepped forward, careful not to unbalance the pregnant mare at his side.
"Miss Amoena..." he began, pausing as he ducked his head under her steady glare. "I once told you that I loved your mother more than anything, that I would have been your father if she'd asked me to. I let her go because it was what I thought she wanted. If being here was hurting her in any sort of way, I would never even consider staying... but I'm here because we both want it... because we've both been given a second chance." He paused again to turn and meet Luna's eyes with a loving smile, glancing back to Amoena after a moment. "I won't leave, not while your mother wants or needs me here."

A deep hate was surging through Amoena's veins right now. For once in her life she was angry with her mother and it was all because of the stallion standing before her. Talking to her as if she cared at all what he had to say. She took a step backwards narrowing her eyes angrily at the pair lost somewhere in their own world.
She wanted to kick him, hard, to break every bone in his body but the smile in her mother's eyes stopped her. She couldn't deny that her mother was happy and he seemed to be the one that made her that way. "Why?" She finally managed to ask her voice becoming one of the young innocence she was once.
Lunathiel was shocked. She hadn't seen her daughter acting like that for so long. "Ame...you can't ignore your heart even when it hurts you." She stepped away from Shadow to lay her head on her daughter's back. "You're precious to me Amoena. You're my daughter and I want your approval. I can't do this alone, I need you to be there to help me."
You couldn't ignore your heart? That was her reason? That wasn't right, after all she was listening to her heart when she had attacked Shadow in the first place. Lunathiel was just asking her to forget everything in herself just to make her happy? She didn't like her mother's logic behind this but she didn't know what she could do.
Turning to Shadow she give him the darkest and most threatening look she could manage. "I will help my mother but you are a different story. The second you slip up and make her hurt I will be after you." She turned to her mother and gave her a sad smile. "Mom...I'm glad you're happy but I really hope you start thinking things through in the future." She tugged on her mother's mane a few times before approaching Shadow.
"From this day on Shadow I will be training every second of every day so if the day comes when you make my mother cry, you will be dead." She gave him a painful tug at his mane before slipping out the door.

There were few things in existance that could have brought Shadow down from his natural euphoria, but unfortunately, Amoena's response happened to be one of them. He didn't dare to tell either of them what he was thinking, but quite honestly, he was becoming irritated with the young mare's self-righteousness. It seemed impossible in any way to do right by her standards, whether it made her mother happy or not, and it seemed she was simply hiding behind the pretense of wanting to make her mother happy. Still, he thought with a heavy sigh, there was nothing that he could do about it, and he acknowledged this as narrowed golden hues watched her slip out the door. He had the sudden childish urge to stomp his hoof in frustration, snorting loudly instead as he shook his head and sighed again.
Molten amber hues softened in sympathy and a loving care as his gaze shifted back to Luna, nuzzling her side gently in a silent gesture of support. He didn't know what it was like, of course- he'd never had children... although that was about to change soon. He fought the joy threatening to resurface again as he stepped up beside the pregnant mare, intent on offering her his unconditional love and support- it wasn't time to celebrate, yet. "Are you all right, Miss Luna?"

Lunathiel nodded still a little shocked by Ame's reaction. Sure she hadn't expected the girl to be happy about it but she hadn't thought that she would take it so poorly either. It disappointed her quite a bit but she didn't know what she could do. She really wanted Amoena's approval on this as she would soon have a sibling to help look after. Without Ame's approval odds were that her new children would never even realize that she was there half-sister.
"Sometimes I just don't understand her. She says she wants to protect me no matter what. That she wants to make me happy but she doesn't seem to realize that half the things she does makes me sad...miserable even..." Letting out a heavy sigh she shuffled over to Shadow and dropped her head across his back nipping at the few strands of his mane in her face. "I just wish she could figure out that I can handle myself...that all she needs to worry about is making her self happy for me to be happy."
What no one seemed to realize was that Amoena still stood outside the teepee listening to all that was said. Right now she wished that she hadn't stayed however. It broke her heart to hear that what she was doing was causing her more pain. She bit her lip hard enough to make it bleed before dashing off to find someone she could actually trust. She needed to find her uncle.

He nodded as he turned to look at the tent flap, sensitive ears folding back against his head as he heard the scuffing of dirt and the unmistakable sound of hoofbeats fading away. "She might figure it out sooner than you think," he murmured softly, gently rubbing his cheek against hers as he sighed quietly. "I'll do everything I can to make this transition easier on her, but it's obvious she doesn't want my help, so I don't know if there's anything I can really do."
He fought to keep his mood solemn- he wanted to support her, after all... but now that everything with Amoena was said and done, he was still fighting to comprehend that she was carrying his foals... his foals. Lowering his head, he nuzzled her protruding stomach in wonder, glancing up to meet her eyes in belated askance of her permission.

Lunathiel didn't understand what he meant, she hadn't heard the younger mare run off. She figured he meant she should confess everything to the girl and nodded in agreement. "I guess it's for the best..." She sighed hanging her head a bit pinning her ears back. "Just try...even if she doesn't want your help I still do." She laughed smiling down at the stallion poking at her stomach. The whiskers tickled her a bit and his expression was just priceless.
"You don't need to ask you know they are yours." She bent down as well and nipped at his ear. This was supposed to be a special time a nice time but all she could think of was her daughter. All she wanted was the girls support was that really to much to ask? Her mouth turned down as a thought hit her. Maybe it was too much. After all she was having a child with another stallion, it probably wasn't something she had ever heard of. After all, Luna had taught her most everything she knew.
"Shadow I think I've made an awful mistake..."

"Nothing, not even the very fires of hell, could tear me from your side, Miss Luna." His ear flicked away from her teasing n** as he smiled at her, lovingly nuzzling the rounded curve of her belly before lifting his head to meet her eyes again. The gleaming yellow orbs softened in sympathy as he saw her fall back into the thought of her wayward daughter, heaving a soft sigh as he tried to consider how the younger mare must feel. He'd never known his father, and his mother had died when he was still a colt, so he supposed there wasn't any way he could relate to her. Still, there must have been some way to reach her without getting himself killed.
Sympathy slowly morphed into concern as he watched Luna's expression change from sadness to distress, the frown on her face and her disconcerting words drawing a look of confusion from him. "What do you mean, Miss Luna?"

Letting out a heavy sigh she retreated to her blanket in the corner to lay down. The weight pulling on her mind and belly made her very tired and rather anxious. "I mean...we are pushing this at her really fast. I think it's hurting her...but I don't know what to do!!!" Her remorse quickly faded into frustration. "You'd think she'd give me some hint at what to do but no! She's just wants to threaten you and attack you find other ways to hurt me then say she's just trying to help. Then all I can do is feel completely miserable and I want an apple!"
Somehow, in the midst of her rant, she managed to burst into tears. She wanted this to be a happy time for both her and Amoena. It had worked out so wonderfully in her mind. Amoena came home after a long day to be greeted by her mom with good news. After a short explanation Ame was always fine with it and they were happy. Of course that was her useless hopeful imagination. The real world always managed to throw horrid things at her even at her happiest moments.
As she fell back into reality she started digging about for a sweet apple. Mushyn had left them as they were better then sugar cubes but they had sugar but Luna couldn't find one for her tastes and started crying like she was a foal again. "I want my treats..." She sobbed.
