........Introduction
"...And now, dear ladies and gentlemen, Might I present to you a most mind-twisting act of one..."
A blinding spotlight spills onto a black and white checkerboarded mat. On the mat is a large peppered-purple bear who is standing, while balencing a rather large and heavy patterned ball in his head. Something is amiss in the situation though. The ball is not quiet perfectly spherical, and it is not smooth, but covered in material.
And then quiet suddenly, the ball blooms outward, and a tangle of seemingly bone-less limbs sprout out gracefully. Legs reach skyward, then curl up, and two pairs of white-knuckled hands grasp at the bear's shoulders and heave a shifting body into the air. Atop the bear a delicate little blue-haired girl grins and tosses her head back as she pushes up into her finished pose.

...A second glimpse at this teetering girl above the bear intrigues you. Blue hair? Must be a show costume. Along with those rather real-looking ears. And, that star is only face paint, of course. Of course, you remind yourself, and then steer your thoughts away to watch the little act.
Welcome to My World: Ehlers, Danlos
Danlos is a very similar world of that of a mix of old India and Greece. Everything is very open and outdoors, and the sky is almost always a pearly shade of aqua. The towns are filled with brightly painted houses at are made of flat panels of stone. Marketplaces crowd the country and here is where we would have found Jas before she jumped aboard Cirque.
Cobblestone roads of dusky brown wind through little park squares where you'll find people of all sorts. The most predominant hair color in Ehlers, Jas's home town, is a shade of turquoise-green. Most people are bronzed and freckled from staying outdoors all the time, and all have pointed ears such as our little contortionist's. This race of people is called Elphen, and they are a form of elves that make a living off of the sea and harbors. The ears found on them are those that are simply a bit longer and pointed and the other kind stick out horizontally from the head and are about 4-6 inches long. Most Elphen are short and stocky, from days of manual labor aboard cargo ships and the docks.
Jas's family is one that does fairly well in the merchant business. Her father runs a small port that ships animal found in her world [some common to earth, others not quiet]. Her mother is a 'gypsy' to put it bluntly. She was a part of traveling players that went around entertaining. She met Jas's father and soon settled, leaving behind her once adventurous lifestyle. Jas has three brothers - two older and one younger. The eldest taught her everything she knows and has jumped aboard his own life as a traveling entertainer, though with a different troupe. The next eldest is going into her father's business, and her younger brother is her best friend. The two are only a year apart and, unfortunately, Jas is about as mature as he is. The two used to spend days camping out in the marketplace, a block away from their house where tricksters and entertainers would set up housing as they came through [much to their mother's dismay and amusement]. It was during one of these camp outs that an animal tamer had stationed in the players' home. Along with him he brought a bear, a lion, and a gniellips [a mix between a large bull and a jungle cat]. The bear was female, and with her came three cubs. Jas immediately found herself wanting one and spent as much time in that man's tent with the animals as she could. In the end, a little dusky purple-colored cub had finally attached itself to her, and with an amused smile, he gave him to Jas. She was overjoyed, but the excitement didn't last long. The bear cub was not very gentle and he loved to test his new friend. After one long year (and numerous battle scars) the two finally gained the connection they had sought after for so long. And with this began a whole new assortment of tricks involving two partners - animal and girl.
Jas lived a lively and happy lifestyle in Ehlers. She loved [and still does] her family, and her home. But she always knew she wanted a life like her mother's and older brother's. So as the Cirque du Coeur Torve came through, Jas hopped aboard, bringing along her favorite animal friend. And there began a new journey for our adventurous new friend.

Stage One
After just hopping on from her world of Ehlers, Jas is just a small newbie. She and her bear, Sootfoot, are just doing oddjobs around the circus. Sootfoot stays with the animals, and Jas's primanry job is taking care of the animals. Things like cleaning cages and stalls, feeding, grooming, and just keeping them company when she doesn't want to be around people. In her spare time she stretches and pulls herself into strange forms to exercise and keep her form.
Stage Two
Finally in the spot light for a bit, Jas does her acts on things like posts, wires, ribbons, and patterned mats to confused the audience. She can do all sorts of contortion forms and she is equally adept at frontbending and backbending. She also performs some of her small tricks with Sootfoot but nothing is ready enough to be put in the ring, only by the sideshows.
Stage Three
Jas has finally reached her star career. Sootfoot is a main part of her act and the two of them perform with each other, and some things include little juggling and balencing tricks.

Fears: life coming at her too fast. She avoids it by living a blissful life in drugs.
Habits: humming, tapping your nails, and sit still for once! Don’t smoke, drink, or take anything stupid, and please stop sneaking out!
Personality: Jas has a bit of “Peter Pan complex†[or so someone told her. Whoever Pete Pan is, she has no clue.]. She lives in a happy little fantasy made of drugs and living the good life. And consequences? The future? Psh, what are those to a girl with no confines? Jas doesn't take anything seriously. She runs around with limitless energy. She’s never still or quiet. When she's got nothing to say she hums under her breath or taps a rhythm out with her long fingernails. Her manner is careless and a little scattered, but she's nowhere near naive or stupid. Actually, she's very spontaneous, usually dragging a friend of hers along for the ride. Plans [and words] don’t really get too much thought, instead they just fall out of her mouth and off they go! But she never worries. No need to freak out, she says. I can sit back and watch the show for a bit. Jas just likes to have a good time. She doesn't run from her problems, she just doesn't have any. So to fill her spare time, she likes to get high and practice. At the same time. This plan is working out pretty well so far, but sometimes that little voice [a conscience?] tells her to calm down and stop - no use trying stupid stuff when she’s high. Her major fault is the fact that she doesn't take anything serious. Have you tired having a deep conversation with this girl? Yeah, it doesn't happen.
One of her little tendencies is eating. All this girl does is eat. It’s ridiculous. Because she never sits still, she never gains a pound, but it's the main reason for all her energy [among certain other things]. Take away her food, and she's mainly useless. Unless she's taken an upper or two, she'll be totally dead without some food. Her favorites are obscene lollipops she has from her home. They are usually sold at the shows too, so she’ll save her tips and buy loads of them when she can. They are always bright and round, but no one can ever tell until she takes it out of her mouth because she shoves the whole sucker right into that big trap of hers. It makes for some good amusement now and then though.
But no matter how light or giddy Jas is, she's always loyal to those near to her. She’s not a huge leader, but she doesn't follow. Instead, she just likes to flit around and do her own thing. Jas is usually pretty fun, but she’s not cute in a young, child-like manner. She’s a girl who wants to live a life with no restrictions, and where else better to do that than the circus?
Unfortunately, Jas takes her freedoms a little far. When the Cirque is stationed in a town, she usually will head out at night and play around whereever they are. Exploring is a favorite of hers, but she'll make some stupid choices if she's taken anything. A few times she's even brought Sootfoot with her, and well, that hasn't gone well. She's gotten into trouble for a few times, and she's generally sorry. She try to control herself for about two weeks up to a month and then it'll happen again.
