Diina nosed open the door to her room and grinned back at Ashaan in that goofy way she had. "You can stay in here with me! I got lotsa pillows you can make a comfy spot with!" She'd convinced Ashaan to stay and not go home in the dark. Though she'd asked him more because she was afraid of something happening to him after dark... there were scary things in the dark. She didn't want her best friend to get lost or hurt or something, either. That would be bad!

Ashaan padded in behind her, looking around a bit. He'd been in here before, a bit earlier but ... well ... let's just not go there now.
He really wasn't too sure about staying the night, but 'Diina had pleaded so much that he couldn't help but give in eventually. And it did look very comfortable. It wasn't like he lived with anyone who was going to worry about him not coming home either...

Diina wasn't really sure why, but she got the feeling that Ashaan was unhappy or... something. She nuzzled at him, concern written all over her features and completely serious - for once, at least. "Are you ok?"

He blinked at that, snapping out of his thoughts when she nuzzled him. "Eeh ... oh uhm. Yea. I'm fine, really ... just ..." He trailed off though, as he'd already said it at least ten times or so.

Diina leaned against him gently in what was supposed to be a comforting way. "You sure? You're not acting fine." She looked up at him with big, soulful green eyes, and then trotted over to pick up a big, soft, fake-fur covered pillow out of her insanely large pile and set it down by him. "You can use my favorite pillow if you want to..." She wanted him to feel better. And hopefully smile.

He blinked slightly at that, and then did smile - though it was a small one. "You don't have to give me your favorite pillow," he murmured, leaning down a little to poke her neck with his nose. "I'm all right, I promise."

Diina shivered slightly when he poked her. Her neck was kinda sensitive and that sorta tickled. She smiled back at him and wagged her tails in any case. "Well, which pillows do you want?"

Ashaan caught that shiver and backed off a little - not entirely sure what had caused it and hoping he hadn't been ... too close or something. But it had felt nice when they were closer earlier, out in the snow. So ... maybe ... but. So not the time to think of that o///o;
Pillows. He was supposed to be picking pillows ... and at complete random, he glanced around and then dragged a couple over. "Uhm ...these ...that ok?"

"Of course! But..." She examind the pillows he'd brought over, and then started dragging several more over and arranged a little pillow nest with the ones he'd selected on top. "Try iiiit! Is it comfy enough? I can get more pillows!" She had nothing if not more pillows.

Ashaan blinked, backing up just a little more as 'Diina arranged the pillows and such. But then he smiled slightly ... he did appreciate her trying to make him more comfortable. He wasn't even really sure why it was so uncomfortable in the first place.
He hopped up onto/into the nest and snuggled down a little. "It's fine ... really nice," he said, smile growing a bit larger.

"Yaaaay!" Diina hopped around happily and then started burrowing/piling her own pillows. In the process she caught sight of herself in the mirror and remembered when she'd first met Ifrit and he'd said something about her going to him if she ever had trouble with guys bothering his new pretty little sister... and before she'd even thought about it she asked, "Hey Ashaan, d'you think I'm pretty?" Suddenly there was an akward silence and she knew she was blushing. From her nose to her ears. Ohgawd he probably thought she was weird or something now.

He looked up at that, blinked ... and started to answer when he noticed her blushing like that. And suddenly he couldn't think of a single thing to say. He did sort of think she was pretty ... he'd thought that for a long time.
But ...but was that bad?

First line of defense: talk until something intelligible comes out. "I mean, you're my best friend and I wanted to know what you thought I guess 'cause I've thought you were cute since we met but since you're my best friend your opinion is special and and and and..." When your first line of defence fails, discretion is sometimes the better part of valor. She burrowed under her pillows and stuck her head out to where only her nose and the shine from her eyes was visible. "You don't think I'm weird for saying that do you?"

"No!" he blurted quickly, shaking his head and wondering what he'd done to provoke that sort of reaction. "I ... 'Diina I do think you're pretty really and I .... " Wait. Had she said a minute ago ... she thought he was cute?

Diina was visibly relieved. "So you... think I'm really pretty?" There was something in her voice that sounded hopeful. She liked Ashaan... as a friend... and more than a friend really. She didn't know if he ever though of her that way, but... well, he thought she was pretty! So that made her happy somewhat. She tried to get out of the pillows a bit but ended up with her paws propped over a pillow and her head up in a semi-sitting position with a squishy purple pillow perched on top of her head like a funny hat. It was probably one of the silliest and most endearing things she'd managed to do so far around him, not that she realized it.
