Standing tall and still Lovey Dovey gazed around the clearing, lush green grass peaked up through the cold shimmering snow that crushed down it's vital life. Sometimes it amazed Lovey how grass managed to come back year after year when she herself felt ready to wilt away when the bitter cold refused to move back off of her. Shaking her head of the thoughts and the light layer of snow in her lush mane Lovey gazed about, bored to tears.

Normally, she would've found something to look at herself with since she was endlessly caring for the yards of purple and blue she carried with her. This land, had slowly made her change and care less and less.. sure she spent a good amount of time making sure it stayed in top condition but she no longer cared if it grew longer.. just maintained length.

Tossing up her feet in the snow she pranced a bit enjoying the wintery area, even as she cursed her coat for not thickening up enough to make herself feel toasty. Walking toward a rapid flowing stream, one of the few that hadn't frozen.. Lovey stood over it after taking a drink a few droplets of water disturbing the surface and wondered what the evening held for her...

It was getting colder. Oh, wait...spring was approaching, right? That would mean that the weather was getting warmer? Correct? The stallion pondered this fact as he stood his ground, staring down at the white snow. Most of it was still there, actually...all of it was still there...but it wasn't as thick as before. This winter season had definitely become a long one. A long and cold one. But now that pretty little nice season was supposedly supposed to be coming it's way...but where was it? They said, 'The weather's getting warmer', all around him, everyday...but he didn't feel any different. He still shivered every morning after waking up, and dreaded falling alseep every night in case he froze. That was possible, right?

Time to find something that wasn't as bad as this ugly white stuff. Smiling softly to himself, the stallion took his gaze away from the ground, but rather a strange sight. There in the distance was a sort of purple creature. Purple? What? Did his bright purple eyes decide to play tricks on him? How could such a lovely color escape such ugly surroudings? Bliss wondered who owned such a pretty color...who would be blessed to carry such a beautiful sight amongst all this white? The creature stood out like a sore thumb to the stallion and there was nothing else to do but follow it.

So, ideas not exactly spreading across his mind, the stallion began to walk closely behind the purple creature as he pranced about and stopped at the stream for a drink. Such a happy creature, such a pretty sight! He giggled loudly, loving every moment of what he saw. Oh how he wished to be basking in the happiness with her, but alas...winter wasn't such a season. There was no possible way Bliss could find himself being his normal goofy, adorable and loving self when he was surrounded by such a boring color. There was more to life then just white. Right?

Trembling, still, from the coldness around her Lovey looked back to see a stallion prancing closeby and also... giggling? Frowning slightly she tried to think if there had ever been a stallion in her home land that had giggled. Sure, she and her friends had squealed and giggled and hemmed-and-hawwed from dawn til dusk but most of the few stallions had called all of us silly and annoying with our squeaking.

She turned away from the water, growing tired with looking at herself and gazed over at the stallion... He seemed to be fixated with looking at her. Although she knew she most likely stuck out terribly in the whiteness of her surroundings she always figured the snow made her more attractive, highlighting her features. A slight worry began to nag at Lovey's mind, what if it made her less attractive, made her stick out like an UGLY sore thumb... since she knew at least she did stick out. Shaking her head she tried to force such folly out of her mind because one, it didn't matter if she was pretty or wasn't and two it was ridiculous enough no creature could ever truly be ugly unless it was trying to be ugly.. Who in their right mind would do that? Shaking her head once again and mumbling to herself, "Lovey darling you're losing your marbles...."

Focusing again on the stallion, who's eyes seemed to be a beautiful violet shade, much like some of her coat Lovey spoke slowly to him, not sure if she was interrupting his thoughts... or giggling... "Hello...? I'm Lovey Dovey.. Lovey for short... and who may I ask are you?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 17, 2007 8:19 am

His mind was glued on the pretty mare in front of him, and that was all he thought about until he heard her voice. Such a pretty tone, she had to her...the color and everything. Made her almost seem perfect. Yea, perfect. Everyone was, right? Or atleast everyone who thought they were, actually were, right? He giggled again as he heard the words she spoke, and then lowered his body into a bow.

"Lovey Dovey such a strange name. But hello, miss. My name is Bliss, I have no other name you can call me by, unless you want to call me something different. Which is fine by me. So um...what are you doing out here all alone? I mean, for such a pretty mare you should definitely surround yourself in a group of friends. But other mares, of cources since stallions are rude jerks. I love your color, though it's by far the prettiest color I've ever seen, your coat is by far my favorite. Much like my eyes, see? They're purple too, but I guess they're a prettier shade of purple since they're my eyes and not yours. I see your eyes are green, that's pretty. How come they're not purple like the rest of you?"

Bliss didn't pause for a second to take a breath. He just kept right on rambling, forgetting his manners and forgetting the possible fact that she would have a hard time figuring out everything he just said. It wasn't everyday he met a pretty mare. Oh, wait...yes everyday seemed to fulfill that for him. Everyday brought an even prettier mare, but he had yet to find one to measure up to Milkshake. But this new Lovey Dovey mare...she was purple. He smiled, and waited to see how she would respond to him.

Ears twitching back and forth, Lovey tried to decide if she was irritated at his assuming that because she was pretty that she needed to be kept away from other stallions or if she should be flattered because he found her coat and appearance to be so appealing. Chewing at her lower lip she kept mulling it over and as she thought about him still. Answering one of his comments while she thought on how to respond to the others, "Lovey Dovey's no stranger name than the some of the other ones around here!" Shaking her head back and forth she stomped the ground, to make her point, slightly irritated but trying to reason that the stallion probably had no idea he had been insulted her.

Tossing her mane back over her shoulder, the stallion, Bliss, liked his eyes since they were purple but he thought his eyes were a prettier purple than all of her coat? She would have to see about that.. Stepping up must closer to him than she ever bothered to get to other stallions she gazed up at him and took in the violet-purple eyes, "Well your eyes are lovely but I don't know if I agree with all of your other thoughts, sir."

Slashing her tail back and forth Lovey began to prance around, she had stood in one place for far too long and holding still had always been a problem for her. She had so many things to see, and places to explore. Right now she lived in a clearing but that was because it was the only place she had found so far that complimented her completely. Rearing up half-way, full of child-like energy, Lovey managed to respond, "So I should be surrounded by mares because I'm too weak to protect myself from stallions? Bah! I'm ten-times smarter than thoughs that think only of mating." Spinning in a circle, Lovey waited to see what he thought of that.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 17, 2007 8:46 am

It was almost as though this mare disagreed with everything that the stallion had to say. He spoke his mind, why couldn't she accept it? Was she one of those mares who thought they were perfect, once again? It definitely seemed as though. "Well yes, it's a strange name, such as my friend's Rainbow Chaser...but I mean it's so wierd because it doesn't fit you. Your name should match your looks." He grinned, liking his own answer rather then her snotty responce to him. Yes, this purple mare believed she could topple the world. Perhaps that could be done...but Bliss would be no where near her if that was the case.

And her mane...it was long. Longer then any other mane he had ever seen. She played with it as though it was the greatest thing in the world. Well, she was wrong...his eyes her the greatest thing in the world. He was one of the greatest things in the world. But her mane was gorgeous, very lovely. And then Lovey approached him closer and closer. Which made the dark stallion feel uncomfortable. What was she trying to do to him? Hurt him? What ever did he do wrong? "Sir? What's that mean? I'm not sir, I'm Bliss you silly pretty mare." His voice was shaky, as he took a few steps away from her.

He giggled once more at her child like playfullness. Very fun mare to be around, that was for sure. He figured that they could have a lot of fun together, giggling, prancing around and even playing that one really fun game. What was it called? Erm...tag? Yea, that was it. "Huh? No, mare's are stronger then stallions by far. So much cooler, nicer, smarter...I hate stallions. They all need to die. I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to see such a beautiful creatre to be hurt, erm...emotionally. That would make me sad."

Tossing her head up and down, pondering his words and also trying to decide if she liked the expression on his face. It was as though he was thinking of her as contradictory or that she had no right to ago against what his wonderful mind came up with. She shook her mane out once again and frowned, she was just being defensive and that wasn't useful to anybody. "I've not met Rainbow Chaser, but I wouldn't think he name unusual either just a lot longer than some." Pawing at the snow to get a better look at the grass under it she tried to placate both of them, "It's of no matter though is it? We're named what we are and it really can't be changed can it?"

She felt and watched his eyes trace over her mane as he assessed it, like so many she was sure he liked it, but she also liked this stallion for not being floored by it. Gaping stallions irritated her and she had met a few already that had just looked at her like she was a mix between a freak and a beauty. The rest of her frame was trim and lovely but nothing amazing. She knew that she wasn't a great beauty but just unusual. Lovey noticed the uncomfortable look that had passed over the stallions face and wished she had not moved so close to him. Surely she had not gotten into his face.. what an embarrassing move to make. Bah! It's of no use now and I'm certainly not sorry for it. "Sir.. I call people that when I'm not feeling informal with them, surely you've heard the term before, Bliss?"

The light giggle of hers was cute she admitted a bit begrudgingly, he certainly had a charming colt-like air when he chose to. Lovey could see herself possibly befriending the unusal stallion, "Oh my dear Bliss, I don't honestly believe that a stalliion could hurt me emotionally and while physically I could be beaten I'd like to think I'd be able to put up enough of a fight to dent the stallions honor." Snorting as she thought of the words of a friend she had made yesterday, Ladius, "I've learnt not to trust stallions til they prove themselves... but I'm more flexible than my friend..."
PostPosted: Sun Feb 18, 2007 6:21 am

"Well then I don't know what to say to you then. I've met Rainbow Chaser and her name doesn't fit her, because she doesn't chase rainbows. So I'm trying to figure out why she was named that. We can be named what we like, can't we? I don't remember my past, all I remember is my name, Bliss." And his name meant happiness, correct? There was no other reason he could think of as to why he came to these lands bearing that name, other then the fact that he was happy. Although others used to say that it was funny, his name...and his personality. Ignorant. They called him. How funny, ignorance is Bliss. That didn't make any sense to him, and it hurt the stallion when they taunted him so.

But he figured the mare must be right, somehow...because she knew what she was saying. A pretty mare always knew what they were doing in life...no distractions, no hardships. They had it easy...just prance around and giggle. Much like Bliss himself, although he had the burden of being a stallion. Of being one of the nastiest creatures alive...his gender. Pure evil. He hated stallions with all his might. "No, I haven't anyone call me 'sir' before but you mustn't feel wierd around me. Call me Bliss. I wouldn't have it any other way." He giggled in return, it was always such a wonder making that very girly noise. Giggling, whomever made up that word really knew what they were doing. It wasn't a laugh, it wasn't a sigh...it was in between. And he loved the way his unusual high pitched voice flowed when he giggled.

She didn't know about the evil stallions out there, did she? Every male was truly, a jerk. A real life pain in the buttox. And here she thought she could withstand them? Haha, no way...not with Bairn around. Especially not with him, going around calling everyone an idiot for loving life and acting childish. Those were the greatest things in life, why couldn't he take anyone seriously? "Well yes of cource. Stallions are weak when it comes to meeting mares. I think, they feel strange." Bliss nodded slowly, deciding it best to just agree with her. "Have I proven myself, dear Lovey?"

"And the reverse is true to you, si- err, I mean Bliss, I've honestly no clue what to say to you. I've not met Rainbow Chaser but couldn't things in her personality make her fit her name? Or something along those lines? I wouldn't think that with a name like that that she WOULD chase rainbows. At least I would hope not since I don't relally know anybody with a babit like that., I also imagine that she would be running for long amounts of time since rainbows to me are impossible to find and catch." Lovey almost burst into laughter when she realized his name really was a bit of a pun, "Ignorance is Bliss, eh?" Clearing her throat just about as soon as she laughed, Lovey frowned, "Well, maybe those stallions are just sad that they don't have violet eyes like yours?" Trying to soothe him since now it seemed like she had figured out his attitude.

Something about his expression as he thought made her a bit uneasy, her life was anything but simple even if it wasn't riddled with twists and turns of all shapes and sizes. Pawing at the dirt a bit she watched his expression. The poor dear... thinking and watching him still, he hated himself for being a stallion. It was like having a light turned on in a pitch dark room for her, they're mean to him and so he assumes that being one is a waste of time and also of his life. My oh my, what a tangled web to have weaved. "I have a habit of calling everybody sir, m'aam, or lady when I am unfamiliar with that person and continue to call them that until we're friends or at least acquantances. Although if I find I don't like that mare or stallion they stay sir, ma'am or lady, but I dislike so very few people." She smiled a bit when he giggled, it wasn't an unpleasant sound it was just so unusual to hear a stallion make a noise deemed as "feminine" perhaps he made the noise because of his hatred of being a stallion.

He didn't have a clue about nice stallions in the world, how sad. She had met a few that respected her and didn't seem the type to taunt anybody for anything, why hadn't he had the luck of finding friends like that? Of course, a few rougher and more... grumpy stallions were around, and always would be, but sour-pusses like that should just be ignored in her oppinion. "Weak in meeting mares? Hm, perhaps you're right, they just don't know how to approach so they come off badly to many mares..." She nodded back at his serious expression and grinned a bit, "Why, yes, you've proven yourself... 'else I wouldn't have stuck around so long."

This mare was either an arguer, or she just had a very strong opinion and liked to speak her mind. Oh, wait...weren't those kind of the same things? The Lovey Dovey mare didn't think that what he had to say, or think was important, did she? She kept trying to prove that her name wasn't wierd, and that neither was Rainbow Chaser's. Well, they all were, every last name to ever exsist was wierd. Or at least that's what Bliss always thought. "Yea, Chaser does love to run, she's always playing tag with everyone. But wouldn't that make her name be something more like Runner or something? I mean, she doesn't chase rainbows. And how do you know that's impossible? Have you ever tried it before?" Bliss stood this ground, he wasn't going to let her speak her mind without getting his own two cents in. Idiot or not, he wanted to have fun with his mare. "Yes, that's my name. Why? Is it funny to you?" The dark stallion gave her a rather smug, hurt look. She thought it was funny, everyone thought it was funny. Well, he didn't.

"Perhaps. Yea, I guess you're right. They're just jealous of my beauty and want some for themselves. That would explain Bairn's rudeness." No that wouldn't. What was he talking about? Bairn was bitter because he was upset with himself. He hated the world and everyone in it because his family was never around. Bliss never did anything to deserve such treatment, he was just at the wrong end of the chain.

She spoke again, and it made the dark stallion smile. Her voice was filled with what seemed to him, like pureness. Or whatever that one word was called. She had no idea what his life was life. No one did. Or perhaps they did, they just didn't say anything. Could it be that he was being watched by someone at all times, so that whenever he spoke to someone new, they would automatically know everything about him? Bliss's eyes widened at the thought. That wouldn't be very fair at all. This was his own life to live and so far, well...he wasn't living it the way he liked. It was this damn, weather, that was the problem. This damned white stuff. "Well that's odd. I want to be your friend so you can call me Bliss! I feel wierd being called 'sir', since I ain't no sir. That's not who I am, no...I'm just Bliss. Just Bliss. Like you, I will call you miss...but Miss Lovey or 'my dear'...but never ma'am or lady." Watching her smile, he giggled even more. He always felt as though he achieved something by making a female smile. Or laugh, it was like...his goal in life.

The dark stallion nodded once more. "Very badly. They think mares are less then them and that they overpower every female. Well I know a few mares that can kick any stallions butt from here to the end of the world. If there is an end. I never really saw it. And you've stuck around so long because we're friends. Am I right? Friends?"

A frown passed over Lovey's face, the topic of her name was starting to drag on her nerves, that silly stallion wouldn't admit that her name wasn't weird and he wouldn't own up to the fact that we all have our names for a reason. Shaking her head slowly she decided that responding to him would only drag out the conversation and that would leave to more irritation to her and potentially to him. "It seems we are at an impasse, Bliss, perhaps we should agree to disagree on the sake of names and leave it at that?" Speaking hopefully and nodding encouragingly, her tone had be light and friendly so for her own sanity she hoped that they would both move on. He thought that she thought that his name was funny? Oh no, that certainly wouldn't do since it had never been her intention to be insulting, it just wasn't something she did, save for those that insult her first, "No, no.. Bliss is a wonderful name... I rather like it and I hope you like it too." She moved closer and nudged her shoulder, wanting the hurt look on his face to leave, nobody had the right to laugh at anybody's name.

Thinking carefully, Lovey tried to remember Bairn and a stallion's memory danced briefly in her eyes, he was stern and somber but probably a good sort just not compatible with Bliss, "Bairn's your herdmate, no?"

She ducked her head down and stared into his eyes, they seemed to be a bit detached from the conversation that had just been flowing rather nicely, the silly thing, she mused to herself, he's gone and lost himself in his own mind. There was nothing she could do but just stare up at him expectantly and hope that sometime soon he would come out of his reverie and speak to her again. He was an interesting stallion, childlike in his musings and hot and cold as all get out. One moment he giggled at her words and the next he was frowning at her like the better part of her family were mules. Sniffing at the thought she realized she herself was losing focus on the conversation and decided to speak again, "I've been calling you Bliss, so doesn't that mean we're friends? I certainly have no problems making friends with new people. Actually, I rather enjoy having people I can talk to and play with." Moving forward another half step she gave him a soft nuzzle on his neck before backing up, "I'll be a friend Bliss, I won't laugh at you like the others have in your past, honest"

Well, now I've no need to worry either." Grinning a bit mischievously, "While I believe I could knock the ever-living stuffing out of any stallion that dared to look at me in an improper fashion, have I not made a friend to help me destroy them?"
PostPosted: Wed Feb 21, 2007 12:50 pm

Bliss blinked. She didn't like talking to him, did she? He was just another one of those boring, bickering stallions that you see all over the place. Pitty, really. She caught him at a bad time. He was usually much more lively and fun to be around, but Lovey seemed to drag down his normally foal like personality. "Alright fine. You say what you want to say, I'll say what I want to say." He grinned slightly at her. "Me? Bliss? I love my name. I was just hoping that you would too. So thank you!" He nodded slowly and finally got used to the way she talked to him. When she nudged him, it only caused the dark stallion to giggle even more. Opps, no more giggling, he told himself.

"Herdmate? What's that? Bairn's my kind of adoptive mother's only son. We don't really like eachother but we have to deal with eachother." Bliss frowned, he wanted to get away from this talk about the light tanned stallion as quickly as he could. It wasn't fun to talk about someone who hated you, was it?

Her eyes gazed into his own and it made his stomach jump. Her eyes her so pretty...they almost matched his own and when he looked back into hers...his own eyes sparkled. She had called him Bliss, hadn't she? Yay! A new friend! This was so exciting, Bliss could hardly contain himself. "Yes! We're friends! It's so nice to have a pretty friend!" The nuzzle made him blush, for reasons he couldn't explain but luckily his coat color was too dark to see the reddness in his cheeks. "Thank you Lovey. That means a lot me."

And then Bliss giggled, yet again, once more. "Of cource! Although I'm not sure how strong I'll be, you've definitely made a friend that can talk back to them!" Lies, all lies...Bliss was a wuss when it came to sticking up for himself.

What a truely... unusual stallion to meet...The thoughts rolled easily in her mind as she watched him with curiousity.. At first he had irritated her with his bluntness and disliking of her name and contradictions.. but it had taken a bit to realize it was just who he was. The poor dear didn't seem to know much about how her felt and kept questioning himself... Shaking her name and chuckling softly when he gave off his usual giggle, but this time it seemed like he was trying to hold it back, but why would he do that? It was a pleastant noise just unusual. Thinking, mulling over the ideas in her mind she grinned again and wanted to nudge the stallion again since he giggled.

"We won't talk about that old sour-puss then.. I've met him very vaguely and he seems nice enough just gruff..." mimicking his frown so he knew she was serious, taking her time hoping not to confuse the harmless fellow again.

Blinking rapidly she felt a hot blush begin to spread up her own cheeks and she ducked her head down. The stupid paleness of her coat was just the right shade that seemed to announce to the world that she was blushing. Shuffling back a step, oh dear, I got to close, thinking those thoughts and trying to make the blush stop once and for all. "Yes indeedy, we're friends Bliss, and you're handsome creature so I suppose it's just as nice to have a handsome friend though I don't care either way.." Giggling softly and noticing that he had backed off at her touch.. oop.

Lovey couldn't help but grin at the lie she had told to Bliss, she needed no help at all warding off stallions and she was more than willing to give them a good tongue-lashing but he didn't need to know that did he? Of course he didn't!
PostPosted: Wed Feb 21, 2007 1:19 pm

This conversation, this situation. Very interesting. Very good. He needed something like this to keep his spirits up...or rather destroy them and teach him better life lessons. Something deep down in Bliss's mind wanted him to change his ways, just so he'd stop being made fun of. But was that possible? To change who you were? A small giggle escaped his throat as he sighed. Not again, you idiot. That's not an attractive noise like you thought so...

"Nice? No, Bairn's not nice. But good, I think it's lovely that, you my dear Lovey won't talk about such a...'sour-puss' whatever that is." The frown made him feel bad. Had he seriously just made a pretty girl sad? Stupid, stupid, stupid. "I'm sorry." He mumbled softly.

And then she blushed! She actually blushed in return! So he wasn't the only one who was awkwarded by this! "No need to blush, silly. It's only me." He giggled and then took a step closer to her, bending his head down to meet hers. "I'm handsome? Well, then a pretty mare and a handsome stallion. Whatta match." He nodded slowly, trying to make her blush go away. Seeing that actually made his go away, so he wasn't that nervous anymore. Plus he had forgotten why he blushed in the first place.

Blinking with wide eyes she just stared at her new friend, "Oh.. my" exhaling softly as she spoke those words... He seemed to be changing already and he held back his laughter. They had only been talking for a couple of hours... or had it even been that long? Lovey had no idea anymore about the time, but was it possible for a person to change in just a few hours?

Another frown marred her face and she looked into his violet eyes curiously, "What do you have to be sorry about Bliss?" Shaking her head back and forth slowly, "You've done nothing that needs an apology"

Trying to cool the blush on her face Lovey ended up grinning at him happily, feeling the redness slowly fade away from her face, "Yes.. it's only you and it's only me.. nothing blush-worthy in that, right?" Asking more herself than him, but still curious. "Whatta match indeed!" Giggling and stomping the ground, happy and carefree once again. Lovey tramped the ground and reared up slightly, "I've been standing still too long, wanta race?"
