Did they release Roethlisberger? Anyways he has the excuse of injuries on his side for this one an appendectomy (sp?) and a motorcycle accident. Those had to do w/his playing probably or maybe the people around him just aren't defending him as good as they did in his rookie year I don't know I didn't watch the Steelers but they don't draft a new QB after 2 years of drafting a new one Ben is a developing QB and has not even reached his prime what if he flicks his switch on later on another team then the Steelers will regret it once they find out how good he is.

I don't think the Steelers will release him. As much as he stunk this season, he's still a great QB will be. Hopefully this offseason, Roethlisberger will keep himself out of trounle and wear a helmet. scream
If he can manage to stay healthy all season, I think reaching the playoffs won't be a challenge for the Steelers, considering they're loaded with talent. And I think they won't have trouble adjusting to a new coach.

I dont think they will have "trouble" adjusting to a new coach.. but it will take time. Especially for a QB who will have to learn a whole new set of terms and possibly a different system. I think Ben will do better just for the fact that he wont have concusions clouding his judgement for 50% of the season. However, he is still young and the change of coaching keeps him from reaching his potential this year. That being said you dont want to get rid of a Super Bowl winning QB because of one bad year riddled with injuries. The steelers have talent... now they need to develppe some leaders. Yet, again... it will take a year for that to really happen with a new coach. Different coaches expect different things thus different leaders will emerge.

It all depends on who the New QB plays like...better or worse?

No, no, no, a million times no.
Ben is a developing into a great QB, but he has yet to stand up well to pressure. Thats all there is too it.

The Steelers will have a hard time without Big Ben, but the other talent on the team will be able to compensate for the loss.
